Thanks for the help. It was a struggle to try to get that back seat out after watching your video it helped me out. Even if it was posted 5 years ago.... still relevant in 2020. Thanks
Thanks brother. Had top help my friend put me set covers on. Talk about a struggle figuring out what to do till I was RUclips certified. Much love and thanks from Daniel and Amanda.
Well after cutting my hand with broken glass from trying to pry the seat up "broken window from idk what" this saved me some trouble. Thankya before I broke the trim on the side. Does not look like I can take the trim off without taking out the seat. Kinda interesting
You saved the day. Didn't know what was holding the center of the rear seat down. A simple 10mm bolt. Honda said I needed to drop the fuel tank. Those instructions are for Honda's of the 80's and 90's. My car is a 2004 Honda Civic. Thanks man!
Thank you! My Honda Civic & del Sol 1992 thru 1995 Haynes Repair Manual on page 4-4 says see Chapter 11 to remove the rear seat to access the fuel pump. Then they have nothing in Chapter 11 about the rear seat removal. What idiots. I would have destroyed my back seat trying to remove it! Thank You!!
I wish I had watched this first but how about removing the BACK of the back seat? I removed the bolts on each side, but it still does not budge and I need to unlock the rear doors. The back door will not come out by removing the hinge bolts. It is made not to come out no matter what unless the back door latch is opened.
Thank you!!!! Most RUclips video. Show the seats already taken off and they just show.. yeah there's a bolt there "up close pic.... I'm like cool... where is it?....
Great video. I was going to remove my rear seats but after watching this, I'm going to leave them. I don't want to leave the fuel pump cover exposed like that. Thought I'd take them out since no one sits back there and it would save some weight. :-)
You can clean it and put it back in. Super clean works good if it is real bad. Want to let it dry out on a nice sunny day. Let it dry out all the way. It is like a big sponge.
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I'm cleaning my car because a full cooler spilled and now my floors and seats are soaked! Trying to clean it out and stop the mold! Thank you so much!!!!!!
fantastic video! I transported a free pig in my civic for 4 hours but she tore up my seat so I had to get a new one from the junkyard. I couldn't figure out how to remove the sear, but this video saved me! Thank you
The big elephant under that back seat is by far the fuel pump. That's why I'm here and pretty sure why alot of other people are here also. Thanks for the vid. Short and to the point.
Hey Jim, just noticed this video on TopTech Videos, usually people (myself included) would have tried in vain to pull up the front first and would have messed those Z brackets up, great video and welcome to the site!
Oh man its the year ,2020 and that 3 and half min was such a gem! Although the microscopic life under my seat /creature hair etc would be a whole other video, but my man, like erick the Viking commented taking your time to save the lot of us a tremendous amount of time if you combine it. Is truly appreciated and just plain freaking awesome. Cause my expectations were a lot more lengthy!
Husband fiddled around for a while. I watched this video and had it out in a minute. Awesome job!
Thank you. Good job!

Thanks man, where is the release for the back cushion to fold down for trunk access? That's what I really need and can't find it anywhere
There’s a key slot above the rear seats, put key inside and twist pull seat while twisting key
@@markharo3535 Found that, unfortunately my keys were locked in my trunk
@@markharo3535 Thanks though man haha
Great vid. Thanks for publishing it for all of us
10MM!!!!! Thank you!

This helped out a lil but would be better if you showed how to take top half part out too
Thanks! Awesome video. This is very similar to my 1999 Honda Civic EX 2 door & the same process worked! 😌
Much appreciated! That was the final step to get my carpet out to replace it and you just saved me a ton of time. Thank you!
Your welcome.
Thanks for your video bro very helpful
Thanks! Very helpful!

I have notice that the Haynes manuals have been going down hill over the years. They seemed better in the old days.
Thank you. 🎉
Thanks 👍
👍 Thanks
I never would have found the 10mm. Thank you!
Thank you
THANK YOU! I lost something in the seats and now I know exactly how to get it. I appreciate this video 😊
Quick and easy thanks for the video 💯🫡

trying to clean out a used 2000 honda civic and this really helped us. Bugs here we come!
Good luck :)
Thank you for this video. My fuel pump has gone out and I didn't know how to get backseat out. You made it simple and clear.
Any info on replacing a rear driver side seatbelt buckle on a 2006 civic? Thanks.
+Rick De Melo Sorry. Only work on Civics, up to 2000.
Thanks man. I’m turning a civic coupe into a minimalistic micro RV. Haha.
You should post a video of it.
Can you take it out wash it and then put it back in.....or do you have to change it completely after that

how do you take off the rest of the back seats (back rest or whatever)
Fold the seats down. There are screws holding them in, next to the side walls.

how much does the back bench and backrest weigh in total? does anyone know?
20 lbs?

How do you take out the back part?
Fold the seat down. The bolts are on the ends, under the cover.
Is it a 10mm for all civics?
I don't think the 1972 uses 10mm. Might be wrong.
I love you sir
Glad the video helped.
Thanks man! Helped a lot !

I have an 89 civic sedan and I'm trying to pull out anything that I don't need to get better gas millage. Roughly how much do the back seats weigh?
the bottom part not much.. but the back part weighs quite a bit!
Thanks! I will probably take that out then.
+Keaton Webb Get rid of your spare tire. That saves some weight. Also, If your the only one who drive in it, pull your passenger seat.
Yeah, I planed on the passenger seat. I was also thinking of pulling the rear speakers. I know it's only a few pounds. but still.
Should make a video showing all the stuff you pulled.
same thing for a honda accord 96
Thank you for the info

What kind of ratchet wrench did you use? It looked like you can also twist the handle to unscrew the bolt.
Stanley Rotator Ratchet, 3/8'', 89-962. Got it at Walmart. About $25. One of my most used tools.
Thanks for the fast reply. It looks like a real time saver. I removed my Civic seat without breaking anything thanks to your video.
