The blake stitch means Gorals are resolable cause they don't come apart when you rip the sole off. They also use a Margom instead of "we threw some plastic bottles in there so you can entertain your communal narcissism a little" sole. It's true Thursdays are a very good quality for the price, but you don't get there without cutting some corners. Overall, there's a few good reasons why Gorals cost twice as much as Thursdays, but I gather it's a lot cheaper to churn out sneakers from a mass-market orientated Mexican factory that it is from a three-generation family business hand making shoes in the UK.

MUGS are not practical in southern US, so this is a nice edition to support good business. There are THREE soles to pick as well: Gum (this), White and Black. Edit: For anyone comes back to this video, I received mine in 9 UK - maybe I made a mistake because I wear 9 US? (Usually minus 1 size for US comparing to UK) It feel like half size bigger; 9 UK has a vertical thumb space, and I have wiggle room for the width. The length is actually similar to Red Wing Iron Ranger size 8.5 D. 8 UK might be tight fit, but the big toe will be bending. Checking Goral sizing length of their last; I just border like their size 8 UK. Maybe I should pick 8.5 UK for similar length as my length is 8.5 (heel- toe) on Brannock and 9 (heel-ball), width might be just right. Stepping creased at the widest point. So 8.5 UK will be my next pick if another run come by. Hey for 9 UK, this may FIT like a barefoot shoes with that extra length; also have a bit wiggle room - hopefully it won't stretch too much.

This is really amazing. I always thought sneakers are only good for one season (I had a cheap puma suede that disintegrated after 5 month) until I bought a good quality one. It was 5x more expensive, but I have one for 8 years and it is still good, and smells nice. And now I purchased another one of the same company. The problem is, the leather was really unpleasant until the break-in finished. I had pain after long walks. After break-in period this is absolutely comfortable, like a tailor made. Have you ever heard of Geox? Is it good quality, or is it just pure luck that mine lasted 8 years.
Nice!!!!! Next project, make a sneaker that has the attributes of a running shoe. Comfortable insole, traction tread to keep ur grip to the pavement! Please I’m sure they’ll sell. I love these, boot quality and looks of a casual sneaker for dress up time. I love my air forces ones but sometimes I want something a bit more classy.
@@americantopgunner5102 Though, military boots might already have that covered. They're not amazing for running shoes, but soldiers do have to run in them, so yeah. I just want to have a boot that I can also run around in. Too bad military boots aren't all that durable or long lasting.
I know you're promoting this one and it's really cool we can choose a sole color right? But is there still work done on the Japanese military boots? Please let me know I'm waiting to get boots for this reason..
@@Ido013 I don't think he mentioned it at all in the video or advertising. It's a bit of an odd decision to omit that info, but at least it was a pleasant surprise. Here's hoping we hear about them before the end of the year!
Don’t bother. I’m in the US and ordered a pair of “muggs 2.0” that ended up being too small, and their return policy has you footing the shipping bill, which was over $120!
Regarding what to call these sneaker/boot hybrids... I'm going with "Snookers". I ordered mine yesterday about 10 minutes (of anguished "which colour?!" debate) after I got the early access email (I went for green - to go with my favourite watch). But like others, I was sooooo tempted to get black. And natural. In the end, common sense prevailed and I'll wait to see how the fit and comfort of the first pair turns out. I'm a UK size 10, so I ordered size 10 (there seems to have been a little confusion/debate over the sizing instructions, but it seemed pretty clear to me).
Ive been looking at getting a green pair of higher quality boots or shoes glad i found these so i dont have to drop $700+ on a pair of nicks for the third time..... i have a problem lol
Yeah I’ve never had a pair of sneakers last over 2 weeks regardless of how easy I try to be with them I do a lot of farming/ranching, construction, metal work and dirt work Finding a good pair of footwear that lasts is a bit tough
Would be interesting to see a summer version with holes all over. Not sure that's doable just like that. Perhaps with metal like in converse just more? Wherever doable without rubbing.
I wear onistuka tiger 66 and even if they aren't that durable ( the soles wearing out too fast ) they have proved to have a decent quality upper that doesn't crease and is light and has durable canvas lining. Please review them!
I can afford a pair. My problem is I have feet that are two different sizes (9.5 and 10.5 L to R) and almost nobody will mix n match. Last shoes I could get that are correct were custom made in Vietnam. Would love to buy but that stops me buying a lot of different shoes unfortunately.
I have some Allen Edmonds that are Horween sneakers. I haven't cut them in half. And, the QC was pretty atrocious on those. The materials seem solid, though.
Do you think you'll ever review Beckett Simonon's sneakers? I have several pair and they're very comfortable but I'd love to know how they compare against other brands.
Question. I wear 11D/E new balance and 11-11.5 for most shoes. Do they run smaller? Bigger? I can see people being hesitant buying shoes they can’t try on first especially if it’s being shipped over seas. Thanks
How comes you are cutting in half so many of your own pairs from the colabs? Do you keep a pair for your self, I hope you do because the wall of your own colabs seems so satisfying

I love my pair of altamas and are great in the summer but I will definitely be getting a pair of these for cooler and wetter weather.
I signed up for the early access but never got a notification. I checked my junk folder and everything. I was still able to get a pair just from checking the website, but I don't know what happened.
How fast were these sold out? I don’t even see them anymore.
I'm glad there will be another drop. I wanted another color but wasn't able to drop $700 on 2 pairs of shoes today, lol.
Or a boot that has the attributes of a running shoe.
@@ShadeSlayer1911 I though of that also good idea
@@americantopgunner5102 Though, military boots might already have that covered. They're not amazing for running shoes, but soldiers do have to run in them, so yeah. I just want to have a boot that I can also run around in. Too bad military boots aren't all that durable or long lasting.
You should do a video on the Jordan 1 Gore-Tex to see if there is any difference in the quality of it and if there is really any major differences.
Really nice. It's like a step down from Crown Northampton but still very classy.
Can you make one with black sole?
bought the black with gum sole and I cannot wait for it to arrive!
Where’s the sizing video link?
I think this would look awesome as a low cut sneaker too
I know you're promoting this one and it's really cool we can choose a sole color right? But is there still work done on the Japanese military boots? Please let me know I'm waiting to get boots for this reason..
You can choose the sole color. Your options are gum, white, and black. I went with a black leather upper and white sole.
@@snowstorm9172 I'm aware Weston didn't mention it did he? Anyway still waiting for the Japanese military boot lol
@@Ido013 I don't think he mentioned it at all in the video or advertising. It's a bit of an odd decision to omit that info, but at least it was a pleasant surprise.
As for the Japanese boot, I sadly haven't heard anything about it. I REALLY want an update, but I imagine they're still in development with how complicated they are to construct. Here's hoping we hear about them before the end of the year!
What's the return policy? I have really wide feet, and it's been difficult to find a high quality sneaker that fits my foot profile
Don’t bother. I’m in the US and ordered a pair of “muggs 2.0” that ended up being too small, and their return policy has you footing the shipping bill, which was over $120!
@@TheWondermittens Thanks for letting me know. Disappointing to hear...
For what it's worth, on the sizing video, Weston said that the wide option for this shoe is a G width.
what if these were made in roughout? would they be a good skate shoe? 🤔
What is the name of the Goral you have on the video (boot), I don't see it on their website.
Hey how do you like your SMUGS, are you happy with the quality and comfort and can you give a short overview/review here please? :)
Can't get a pair this drop but hopefully by the end of the year can get one! that green looks so good!
I bought a black pair going to be my first black leather pair of shoes and thank you so much for having a wide width option.
Ive been looking at getting a green pair of higher quality boots or shoes glad i found these so i dont have to drop $700+ on a pair of nicks for the third time..... i have a problem lol
Yeah
I’ve never had a pair of sneakers last over 2 weeks regardless of how easy I try to be with them
I do a lot of farming/ranching, construction, metal work and dirt work
Finding a good pair of footwear that lasts is a bit tough
I used to have a pair of wrangler shoes exactly the same as these in the late 70’s early 80’s
Nice! Although I need more structure in the sole like Crown Hampton or Feit (handsewn)
I would love these if they we're a low top ❤
I'd love to see a comparison between these and the Jak sneakers. The last ones have also cork filling and they are a little cheaper
The link says COLLECTION SMUGS IS EMPTY :((( what to do
Would be interesting to see a summer version with holes all over.
Please review them!
recently you made a video that Crown Northampton is the best build sneaker, so, how do they compare? how should I raad these videos?
I really want a pair. Nice to be able to get something thats long lasting and high quality. I hate modern short lived throw away products.
I can afford a pair. My problem is I have feet that are two different sizes (9.5 and 10.5 L to R) and almost nobody will mix n match. Last shoes I could get that are correct were custom made in Vietnam. Would love to buy but that stops me buying a lot of different shoes unfortunately.
can you please cut open the danner trophy boot?
I have some Allen Edmonds that are Horween sneakers. I haven't cut them in half. And, the QC was pretty atrocious on those. The materials seem solid, though.
I came 🤏🏽this close to getting a pair but I couldn’t justify spending so much on a a sneaker/boot. I love it but I’m priced out of it 😞
I signed up for early access and never received an email. My husband wants a pair!
I wanna order a pair but I don't like "preorder" ing.
I ordered a pair in natural. So excited!
The black and gums are so sweet
not able to buy these right now but i do want some. i will be saving up for the next drop. also the colors are great
Do you think you'll ever review Beckett Simonon's sneakers? I have several pair and they're very comfortable but I'd love to know how they compare against other brands.
I have Fox River socks that took me a decade to break in; over 3k hrs a pair. A few weeks to wear in shoes is nothing.
Question. I wear 11D/E new balance and 11-11.5 for most shoes. Do they run smaller? Bigger? I can see people being hesitant buying shoes they can’t try on first especially if it’s being shipped over seas. Thanks
Ohhh! Congratulationsss
I have always dreamed of this exact same shoe.
How comes you are cutting in half so many of your own pairs from the colabs? Do you keep a pair for your self, I hope you do because the wall of your own colabs seems so satisfying
Will there be a smugs 3.0 in the near future?? Cough cough hint hint with a kudu gaucho option
So were these just a one off short run? Can’t seem to find them for sale
Out of Stock, did Mr. "Rose Anvil" mention if there will be a restock in the coming month(s)?
Yes, he's said that they plan to have another run in the future.
Where is the sizing video? I can't find it.
How thick is the leather insole?
