The toughest fight so far for me at level 53 in my first playthrough. Gilgamesh can seem daunting at first but once you learn his attack patterns you can exploit them to your advantage and stagger him easily. This method relies on using perfect blocks as much as possible to negate damage and to give yourself openings to raise his stagger meter. It was a good way for me to practice my perfect block timings before I face him again in hard mode in he brutal VR missions.
As for the build I was using, basically nothing fancy to debuff him or buff myself. Just focus on blocking his attacks with Prime Punisher mode and his Genji shield will automatically drop.
Materia that you wanna bring in on Tifa will be:
ATB Assist (very important you have this which allows Cloud & Aerith to charge their ATB quickly!)
ATB skill master Materia
ATB stagger
ATB Boost (I had an extra copy so I gave one to Cloud as well)

This is more lkke a "hey watch my fight" than an explanation of anything. No build info or anything....not a good video to get ideas from.
Jus wear whatever u wore on summon fights but obviously apply fire +elemental to weapons synergy +comet on a char u use less I just beat at lv 49 without true strike on Tifa, pre ancients temple but other then that u can see what he’s doing… I think it was easier then the Odin +alex fight just took me a bit longer then him without true strike increasing stagger but tifa unbridled already does that just after u use rise and Omni pop off 1 more Omni to increase stagger a bit more . The comet+ synergy helped a ton with increasing stagger bar and I kept my party hasted with yuffi and used her as main healer also use her ranged when he has lightning balls around him
Dude, all you got to do is put it on easy mode for the fight, then once you're finished put it back on normal mode, problem solved

@@sephiroth22635 yes it is but unfortunately does not work on him. I just beat him the other day on a fresh dynamic difficulty playthrough.
