I seriously think I've seen every single tsunami video on the internet lol
Same lol
Same!
Same bru
Same! Idk why it fascinates me so much
Same here
Excellent experienced divers. The group were lucky to have divers with such dedication to their clients!
the dive boat was probably fine because tsunamis only gain height when they get closer too the shore
they usually gain height by the middle of the ocean before they hit shore so there boat could have tipped.
lol... sure it would
srt venomous apparently you don't know how tsunamis work...
ErrlsAnd Glass its not the height idiot , its the preasure that crushes the boat
Mc Lovs the tsunami waves can also tip up the boats
So the best place to be when a tsunami hits, is in the water.
I'm filling up a bath, just in case.
The best place to be during a tsunami is not near it
U nknown it makes no sense i covers the whole countr.... never mind you can be in another country
Or you could just pick up the country you are in and just push it somewhere else! , Spongebob
Paul H the evolution👍 of stupidity😂😂
Paul H #logic
WERE THE CLOWNFISH OK
CorpseTongji AMAN!!!!!!!
Yeah they fine man, they fecking fish
^lmao
CorpseTongji omg. Cracking up!!!!
The plant (can't spell it), protected them.
And also, they should've been used to tsunamis.
Well, that was a weird and stressful dive, I can't wait to get back to shore and relax in the hotel... Oh, crap.
I sea what you did there. 👍
The best place to be while tsunami is happening is when you are on a flight away from that are where tsunami will hit.
Mich Elle no
xh
Mich Elle no because what if the tsunami hit then it made like big explosion and what if it got to hard that made it go down
This is comment where grammar in is the great grammar
Mich Elle and then u have no fuel and no airport great!👍
Fishermen on boat: do you hear that?
(Muffled screams below)
The best place to be during a tsunami is in a airplane or helicopter.
Ahaahah! Inside the Airlander 10 hehehe!
Totaro17 But u would run out of petrol
UnderScoreKayla !!!!!!!!! How? If planes can fly hundreds of miles, why can't it fly above a tsunami? That makes no sense.
Mike Watts If u were in a plane it would run out of petrol. So if there was a tornado and it ruined the airport u would have to land somewhere. same with Tsunamias. The water could stay around so, the water would cover the runway. WHERE WOULD U LAND IF U WERE OUT OF PETROL
No duh
Thank God everyone was okay.
Thank the dive instructors everyone was okay.
Where was god for the hundreds of thousands that the tsunami killed?
Ady B God won't magically scoop up thousands of non believers fro death.
at least a handful must've been religious in the 'hundreds of thousands'.
Ady B Lol there’s always one...
What an amazing story and so glad to hear all were safe and sound afterwards. Who knows how many may not have been had they still been in harbor?
*im getting compression sickness from watching this*
There was a camera man there, wheres the footage?
Carlito Frito you're so skeptical...and that's not how tsunamis work.
Michael Frymus you are watching it..... The fuck?
0:53 and how the anemone went 'flat'.
the best place to be on a tsunami is on top of a fucking mountain or the moon
Good luck getting there
Provuk SMC lol when he said that, that's exactly what I thought. I don't wanna be in the fuckin water!
Or in England 👌👌👌
Scotlands higher up though 👌👌👌
bitch please, ARAB!
Wow! Now there is something to talk about! And the footage you caught is highly valuable.
So glad you all pulled through! Thanks so much for sharing.
The worst part of getting washed like that, is your mind starts to get confused on knowing if your swimming deeper, or twords the surface
Exactly. Thats my younger self in the video. It was just how you describe!
Thank god they were all ok! what a terrifying experience that must have been
Hana Ayres I would’ve been screaming to death, btw I know your comment is from ages ago so your not going to see this.
@@gachalilyivequit4049 glad they were all okay and I wonder if you'll both see my comment 🤣
Wow. Amazing to think a tsunami could affect things so far down as well as what's obviously going on on the surface. Glad they survived to tell of it.
It’s amazing to me that some how everyone found a safety buddy lol. Everyone except for the camera guy came up in pairs.
Yup... Natural disasters totally fascinate me!
man.. I wanna see the full footage of what the divers saw.. was really interesting seeing the sea anemone get flattened out and the clownfish struggling not to get blown away o-o

Hi. thats my footage and sadly I lost the tape a long time ago. Now wish I'd taken more care of it.
@@adriankayeNoooooooooo!!!!
If the tsunami brought you from 30 meters to 2 meters, and back down, what is the danger of decompression sickness? Had you been at depth for long?
Not that bad actually. Minor discomfort from the pressure change, but 30 meters isn't far down enough to really cause the bends. Now if it was 100 meters then that could definitely be an issue. Speaking from experience having to go from 25 meters back to the surface because of an oxygen emergency.
Late response but decompression wouldn’t be the issue as long as they weren’t at that depth for an extended period. It can absolutely happen but is more common in greater depths. The thing I’d be scared of the most would be your lungs over expanding when you shot to the surface. We’re taught to exhale during emergency ascents but with zero visibility and such a quick change you might be too disoriented to know what’s happening.
imagine what they told the divers when they were reenacting being in the tsunami lol...
"Just start doing flips and shit yeah that looks good"
ha ha. Thats exactly what they told us to do!!😂 Discovery channel got us to go back underwater and pretend!
Very nicely explained video on scuba diving techniques in Tsunami . Keep sharing such encourageous clippings in future.
Great video, thumbs up from us and cheers from sunny IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.
This had to have been Boxing Day, omg that was a very deadly quake and tsunami, I remember watching a doc about these divers.
Lost an instructor that taught me in 72 & a student in Lake Tahoe while I was in the Navy learning the Navy scuba method
:(
Look out for decompression sickness after that!
Hugh G Rection
17...
they made a safety stop..
They actually weren’t that deep in the ocean to get the bends. Someone on here said the divers would have to be like 100 meters down at first, then experience the drastic changes in depth before dealing with the bends.
If I had a tsunami right by me, I would dive as deep as possible. #SaveYourSelf
VintageTimer Playz Even worse.
Not the best option. In a tsunami, the entire water column is displaced so literally no matter how deep down you went the current would hit you. It’s not a surface wave so you can’t escape it by swimming deep down.
Don’t ever do that !, lets say you try to go as deep as you can, add the height of the tsunami, thats how much water will be over you, the sudden change of pressure will kill you immediately ( if you are lucky)
That guy in that white shirt.... i think he's dutch. I could tell it from his accent
Thanks for the knowledge and experience. Glad yall are safe.
You all are the luckiest people alive
Ahmed El-Badry no🤣
That HAD to be scary!!!
Not to sound like a fiend but I hope this happens again to other experienced divers who are recording with a gopro so we can really see the drama unfold. Would be an interesting watch.
"So how did you die?"
"I didn't go underwater"
Respect to you guys for real.
Hello,
I really like some parts of this. How can I use a part of this video for my band's lyrics video?
The worst bit is getting back to shore to see all the dead bodies laying everywhere
Wow that was unforgettable Unspected Experienced has a Diver.Hope U guy Ok.Stay Safe Take Cair Bro .
The best place to survive a tsunami is be the cameraman
Agreed ;)
I was a diver.. and I could not think about been in a Tsumani and having a clear head.... I grew up on Midway Atoll Islands.. this is crazy.
Unimaginable from our perspective thank you for sharing
yes you have a point.. but it still seems better then if you're on the beach... you'll sweeped away if the water comes to you .. sorry for my english, im from holland
Blessed to be alive. Praise JESUS CHRIST. 😊❤🙏
I’ll add that to bucket list
Proper divers , looking out for one another. 👌
Wow, that's one dive I wouldn't want to make. How deep do you think you would have needed to be to eliminate most of the turbulence?
It affects the entire water column, so the turbulence goes from the ocean floor to the surface. If you are aboard the boat in very deep water, it's not as noticeable.
@storm Hey, I know this might sound weird, but could I get permission to use the sequence from 0:44-0:48 for a school project, please?
Re Me OMG! I wanted to ask the same thing!
Storms comin crops gonna be good this year
incredible experience wow.
Interesting to hear what happens underwater.
I am! I'm not sure why because I'm terrified of waves..but I just am :-)
was there a risk of getting the benz from the current bringing them so close to the surface?
In the event of an emergency or something similar you can cancel your safety stop. Actually as a dive master as a duty of care you MUST cancel your safety stop to ensure everyone else is safe after a crazy event like that. As a precaution should all go to a hospital with a chamber since going to 17m to 2m twice in less than 5 seconds would cause a very high risk of DCS even with a safety stop.
I was curious why they would do a safety stop since they already surfaced.
These people need to have some god damn faith.
I struggle to see how they went from 17m up to 2m in less than 5 seconds without any injuries?
I think that measurement is in relation to sea level. The pressure may stay the same as during tsunamis the tide raises several meters.
Sam Robertshaw let almost all the air out of your lungd
Sound of Jesus np
Sound of Jesus no
the best place to be in a tsunami is deep water but not underwater. The wave still carries the energy underwater like he talked about but barely above it so on the boat would’ve been better
i googled it...but i think it's because out at sea, a tsunami wave is the same size as other waves so it doesn't really make a difference
Wouldn't you get the bends ascending and descending like that? Or were they not deep enough?
That has to be 1 of the scariest things to do swimming right through a tsunami
Which is the best type of boat to be in a tsunami? The options are jetski, kayak, raft, speedboat, cruise ship, or a fishing trawler
what happened to the boat?
That would have been insanely terrifying.
😂😂 were actually like being in washing machine
Can a submarine dive a tsunami like go under the incomming wave or 400-500 m below it because the wave is under correct?
I would dive with these people any day! So professional!
ruclips.net/video/TDLMUvIkKPQ5/видео.html
Thanks very much. Thats me in the video. Sadly not been dving for about 7 years.
Why did you stop?
Any additional footage from underwater?
there's something about tsunamis i just can't get enough of. i think i'd be like a rabbit in car headlights - wandering into the sea. scary. check out "ten things you didn't know about tsunamis"
Ive always wondered what it would be like.
That must've been an easy way to get bends if you didnt do the safety stop.
wow, its a smart way to escape from the tsunami.. the guys stay alive, ;D
Yeah not only was I appart of this random dangerous experience but i tried to save two women. Oh did i mention they were deaf? Two deaf women actually, not just one woman but a deaf woman.. and another deaf woman. Did i mention they were deaf?
Gareth Stewart lmao
Gareth Stewart your ass is itchy
Gareth Stewart cool
I think he means "dive"
you mean depth? damn auto correct
LOL swim behind the tsunami
I've always wanted to do this XD
Edit:Damn fish are lucky...
Current took them from -70 to -2 meters
Shouldn't they pass out or something like that ? As far as I know it's not a good idea if you come up that quickly.
ImplantedMemories he meant 17m. Most leisure dives can’t go below 30m. But even then your lungs can burst just by going all the way up to 2m from 17m. They r lucky
Swimming in Tsunami Awesome
boat?
This video is
65% talking about him swimming
35% the footage
risky business
What happened to the dive boat?
If it happend to me i would never go near the sea again the divers are brave
Fuck that must be so scary!!!
Like you don't even know where you are not what direction you're facing you're just...swirling the whole time
Yes it was!
I wish there were more tsunamis
Am I the only one who thought them trying to reenact being in the tsunami was hilarious.. just sitting underwater doing flips and shit
It was loads of fun ;) And we got paid!
That really hard to driving in tsunami.
This video was posted on my 5th birthday🎉
Sometimes we divers tend to dive with cameras and video cameras...ever hear of a Go Pro camera? They work underwater too.
Video of it?
Frank must be Dutch's great great grandson
ruclips.net/video/TDLMUvIkKPQ/видео.html
I saw big waves crash underwater, it was cool
So, your at 33ft. Then Tsunami comes and the washing machine effect starts...Must really screw up your dive table. I would venture, the 3 min. safety stop was more for posterity than anything.
Wow that's scary!
No sight, no sound. That poor man must have felt horrified
ruclips.net/video/TDLMUvIkKPQ4/видео.html5
1. No Sight No Sound That Poor Man Must Have Felt Horrified
2. No Sight No Sound That Middle Income Class Man Must Have Felt Horrified
3. No Sight No Sound That Rich Man Must Have Felt Horrified
When did you realize it was actually a tsunami?
We realized after we surfaced. It took a while to get information from land as we were so far out to sea.
@@adriankaye Thanks for your reply. I can’t imagine!
@@adriankayef you were to go experience scuba diving in any oceanic event in recorded history, what would you choose?
What’s a veelchair?
camera man??? were is the footage??? and 16 m to 2m and down again ??? no decompression sickness ???
the place place to be during a tsunami is NOT necessarily the water. deep ocean is fine but you cant be chillin on the shoreline.
Johnny sins is really talented,he can be a doctor, diver, teacher, plumber.who knows maybe he is even a spy.
I was kind of expecting them to be brought up to the top and literally ride the wave. Man what a way to go
Now i know how to survive a 5 km tsunami.
