The Love Bugs: Credits

Before I had written this song out for the credits in The Love Bugs documentary, I started writing this love theme for my wife while she was away on a trip. It then fully came to fruition when we were biking through Holland when their tulips were in full bloom, and (not to be too cheesy) the feeling of love was all around. When I finally saw the documentary The Love Bugs, and witnessed the love that the two married entomologists had for each other and their work, it seemed like a perfect time to launch what was then called “The Tulip Waltz” into the world. As the CO premiere at Mountainfilm of The Love Bugs documentary draws nearer, I’m reminiscing the amazing whirlwind experience the recording session was, from the incredibly talented roster of local @longmontcolorado musicians we pulled together, to the love and attention that recordist and mixer Mark Venezia and assistant Anne Trytko at Wind Over The Earth gave to this slightly overambitious score.
I pulled this video together from bits and pieces that we shot over the week (thank you Forrest Lotterhos and Larissa Rhodes) just to highlight some of the amazing musicians that played on the soundtrack including Jane Rigler on solo flute, Adam Bodinee on piano, Conor Abbott Brown on clarinet, Joshua Hall, Kristin Weber on oboe, the Ajax Quartet: Tom Yaron - Violin, Renée Hemsing on violin, Mario Rivera, Eric Haugen on cello, Kalin Capra on upright bass.
It was also a huge pleasure to work with @Allison Otto, Maria Clinton, and Chelsea Jackson on this one. Thanks again for the opportunity!
