You have more expenses than the obvious ones. Plant replacement, vehicle maintenance and depreciation, insurances, sickness and holidays, out of hours time assessing / quoting. The joys of being your own boss.
Nice video lads looking forward to the next one. We all have bad days and the good days make up for it thanks for sharing your bad days with us. All the best from Cornwall UK
It's a famine or a feast in this game and the good days cover the bad days and it all seems to work out or we wouldn't be at it but some days you do wonder 👍
Hi mate,Dave from the U.K. here, not brickwork related I know but I notice the roof tiles are not put on top of felt underlay like here.Mind you,it rains more here. You lose a lot of working time here because of the shite weather. You don’t have to worry too much about that in Australia 🇦🇺.Or do you?Keep it up mucker.👍
Hey David they always leave them last tiles off until we brick that section up. Generally tiles on the rest of the roof are up before us brickies arrive. I could imagine mate, we haven't had too many rain days this winter season, we are lucky that way but I think we are in for another brutal summer of heat. Cheers David
Its tough going mate it really is....i work in a 3 gang so me and 2 other trowels in England building houses and everyday we go in we have a figure we want to earn most days we do! some days we don't! some days we piss it! and some days are terrible and by dinner your putting the tools in the van and going home after writing it off as a loss...its swings and roundabouts.....you always get the billy bullshitters who lay a thousand everyday bla bla bla bollocks!!!. Keep at it mate you seem a great bunch of guys.
This morning was meant to be meeting the builders the scaffolders and the lintel guys onsite first thing. I double triple checked with the supervisor and confirmed that they would be onsite first thing. Builders turn up at 4pm scaffolders at 230 and lintel guys didnt show up at all. Waste of time and money
@@hendosbricklaying2003 ngl but I've always wanted to come to aussie and play bricks because I've heard all the stories of top dollar this and that. But after hearing the rates I don't see how people can pay top dollar their? Is it because you guys are less greedy or just faster Bricklayers?
Builders ( stating the obvious) builders make the money , big volume builder made 3 million profit last month , then as a painter I go fix up trade marks and scuffs on my work , plus cracks in nearly all architrave from house movement, coz the slab is 80mm thick . All for $350 for two days . Pure shite.
G,day mate... I m bricklayer. Really want to work in Australia. I am from India. So is there any recruitment agency who hire skilled worker from overseas. I’ll be glad if you help me to know more about it.
@@hendosbricklaying2003 gotta take what you can relative to your situation i spose mate. Getting $1.50 at the moment(in nsw) which i think should be minimum for project builders as its a hard slog on shit sites most the time....

It's a shame that people can't keep their word these days in this industry. The big guys rule and us small companies pay the price

$1.20/brick cottage bashing is a pathetic rate on good sites. Criminal on that one
Corey Wellard I agree. Worth doing? What rates are you on currently Corey?
