Well....lesson learned. Always take a photo of each tree and send it to the homeowner and ask for confirmation, if they aren't there.

I use to take stumps out also. I would give them a price per stump per size. After an agreed price. I would tell them to tie ribbons or spray paint what they wanted removed prior to me arriving. That way there is no mistake. It wasn't your fault you didn't know there where two light poles.
Having the customer (or a rep) to either be there or blatantly mark the work to be done is the way to go. Apparently I'm not as telepathic as most other contractors out there.

Don't feel bad. When I inherited my family's property, I cut down most of the bushes, so I could cut grass faster. Plus hedges grow back.
I know the feeling..I said in front of several ladies at church I was going to cit down an old apple tree that no one was taking care of and all it had was really small wormie apples on it and I lady in the group got a bit testy after I cut it down. It took six weeks for her to say any more to be,but she finally said as bad a shape as the tree was I that what I did was for the best.
