Thanks, I’ve heard some good things about ls tractors. Unfortunately the dealer for ls in my area wasn’t someone I could work with. How do you like it?

I appreciate your comparison, and sorry to hear you had issues with your old tractor.... that can be very stressful.... I recently bought my first ever tractor. I looked and test drove the red ones, blue ones, green ones, orange.... and they all seemed like good machines, but I ended up buying the MF 1840e... I chose the Massey over the others for 2 reasons... 1) location of the fuel fill(Massey is located at about thigh height and the others were all shoulder height), and 2) location of the shuttle shifter. The Massey feels to me like an old forklift, where I can operate the shuttle lever between the middle and ring fingers of my left hand while keeping my thumb on the steering wheel, and my right hand is free to operate the loader, 3pt and so on... with the others I had to take my left hand off the wheel to shift F/R... Now that I've had my MF for a couple months I'm sure I made the right choice... but I do occasionally think, "ya know, that hydrostat sure would be handy right about now" but then I think "oh yea, I didn't get the hydrostat cause most of my hours are mowing, not loading pallets...." so far,(I'm just over 30hrs) I love my MF. Side note, if you want to add rear remotes on an 1840e, the valves come out to just under $3k and took a lil over a month from when I ordered them till they came in.

That’s awesome!! I knew I had forgot something about the Massey and that was the fuel tank, I love not having to get my fuel jug on top of the hood. I feel the same way, I’m certain I made the right choice for me for what I do this tractor is more than enough. Glad to hear your loving the Massey! I have just over 40 hrs on mine.

You made a good choice. I have had several tractor brands and we are very happy with our MF 245 and our loader tractor the 4707.

I’ve only owned Kubota and Massey, and since trading for the Massey I’ve realized what I was missing by not choosing Massey in the first place. Love this tractor. My papaw had a Massey 235 and that tractor was a work horse.

You only have to come to a complete stop on a manual KUBOTA if you DID NOT get one with synchronized gears. They are available but are more money.. Once you get used to them you can shift without stopping or grinding gear without syncro. I had a L3800 standard for 12 yrs.

@@waynederby4684 yea I knew that you could get them with synchro gears, didn’t realize you could shift a non synchro without being stopped, everytime I tried I grinded the gears bad. Thanks for the comment!

@@ChestnutMountainHomestead It is something that you learn after years of having one and plenty of grinding some gears in the learning process. Don't expect to do it right away. Some do it bu double clutching and some do a speed shift and some never get it.

Btw, MF has yellow rubber grips that fit on the metal ends of the quick attach handles.

Interesting.... I had no idea that the Kubota manual transmissions differed so much between models. My Kubota MX4700 manual transmission operates almost exactly as you described your Massey, except it is synchronized between 3rd and 4th gear. As you learned, your Kubota dealer did you no favors by allowing you out the door with a pin-on front loader system. Live and learn... I made the mistake of buying only a 2wd tractor the first time. Lesson learned! Good luck, and enjoy your new machine.

I know, when I really started digging into the different types of manual in tractors it blowed my mind! Yea they had a back order on quick attach loaders when I was getting my kubota so I let them just slap a pin on onto the tractor. Live and learn. Thanks for the comment!! Hope you’re enjoying the mx4700, they are nice tractors!

I'm really looking hard at the 1835 M. I do not want a hydro. I'm sixty years old and grew up on torqey gears tractors. The power shuttle will make loader work a little easier. I've got to Massey dealers about one hour away in different directions. Only dealers near me are green , orange and pink.

I wanted to keep my payments about the same or I would have got the m hands down. Premium features on that tractor. I’m with you, I don’t like hydro but they are nice for loader work. My Massey dealer is about a hour away from me as well. Power shuttle is an awesome thing!

@@KM-vc2yp your welcome! One thing I forgot to mention was the Massey has ground level fueling, whereas the kubota l series has fueling on the hood. Thanks for watching!
