I’m thankful your cross pin was a bit of a bugger. I’ve been wrestling with one and chose to step away from the frustration and watch a few Remington 700 bolt disassembly videos. Thanks!
Thanks! Very helpful. As a side, I've found after reassembly using the wire to tug on the cocking piece allows the washer to fall out. It's easer for me that way. Again thanks for the video!
Very nice directions, thank you for your style and technic, can you do a video on the 700 Remington bolt head parts disassembly, for extractor and ejector, that would help me a lot, I’m putting a aftermarket custom bolt body together, thank you very much👍🏼✌🏼
I have a question about the firing ping spring. Is the spring equal in both sides, so when reinstalling it you don´t have to worry about wich side you place or not?
Thanks for the video, but I think I'd have to drill me a hole near the hex head of that spring compression tool and insert a short steel rod to use for a handle rather than fighting your "spanner" wrench. Or just weld something across the end of the hex for leverage.
The FIRST thing I WAS concerned about was IT didn't seem to me that MY bolt HANDLE was not or it didn't seem TO lock or fold COMPLETELY in THE groove of the stock but it seemed to lock down well and pull the trigger AND IT dry FIRED correctly so I went TO FIRE TO GET MY scope ON target pulled the trigger and IT didn't fire AND the second TIME NO fire AND no mark on THE primer noticed the pen WAS A ways back IN the bolt so I am IN the process of removing WHAT I JUST SEEN ON this mans class so here I AM. BUT I AM still GIVEN THOUGHT OF THE bolt handle not folding TO the depth of the saddle THAT IS cut out, clearly factory CAN ANY ONE give ME A IDEA what?.
I've searched all over the place trying to find how to disassemble remintons fucked up j lock system but all I'm getting is how to remove the firing pin assembly from the bolt,,hell! I can do this without tools I want to replace the fucking spring and I want to modify the or just remove the j lock from my existing bolt sleeve apparently no gunsmith has ever done this because like I said guys post how to feild strip the bolt or I had one video of how to remove firing pin spring useing special tool but only on standard shrould not the j lock iss or what ever Remington calls this position invention of thiers,,don't buy a Remington with themj lock feature thier no good lock time is slow because of spiral mainspring rubbing on inside of bolt body ,WHAT the hell were they thinking!!!

I was stuck on getting the bolt back in the rifle after cleaning. this video helped me realize I needed to align it with the small notch. Thanks

Thanks for the comment. You're right, I've got a box spanner that fits the bolt head. Too lazy to find it!!!

Thanks for your comment. The stock is a Mcmillan A2. I've made a video about the rifle on RUclips.
Cheers,
Bob.
that would have been so much easier if you had thought to use your vice.
Everyone says to use a dime, but I used a penny.
Cheapskate! lol. Why waste a dime when a penny will do....
