Very nice list, and really like your attitude towards thrash. I can agree with most of your list (and the rest is personal taste..). I wish that Kreator, Destruction and Sodom would have made your list: Phantom Antichrist, Hordes of Chaos, Gods of Violence, Decision Day, Genesis XIX, Born to Perish (just to mention a few) are killer-albums! And yes: compared to the 90's stuff, Death Magnetic and Hardwired.. are strong Metallica-Albums. Nevertheless: Keep going, Bryce!

Going to Megadeth, Lamb of God and Trivium in September. Formation of Damnation/Dark Roots from Testament would be in my list along with most of yours. I've never heard of Paradox, so thanks, I'll check 'em out.

Do you know a band called Lost Society, they have released a couple brilliant thrash albums. I appreciate how Bryce always finds a way to bring up Jeff Waters in his videos. Dude is easily among the finest guitar players in metal history and hardly ever gets any recognition. Face melting guitar work, consistently, and his leads are second to none. If you are new to metal, listen to Bryce, he might be young but he definitely knows what's up.
Perfect pick for #1. Saw the show for this tour a couple times and loved all the new members, esp. Glen Drover. Also wish James LoMenzo would return - as much as I dig Ellefson and his lifelong contribution to the band, the two albums with LoMenzo are absolutely the best two, bass guitar wise.
A lot of us have Anthrax on the brain right now because of the awesome RUclips documentaries they just finished putting out. Have you been watching them? If not, I highly recommend you do. I've been a fan since 1987 and gave their newer stuff a chance since watching that.

Yes United fucking Abomination an awesome album everything about this Album is pretty fucking good like you said and Glenn drover did his thing here with the solos and the lyrics are pretty amazing just a awesome album all around💣💥✌🤘
Wow! I'd wondered what happened to Ken Mary. I loved his work on both Fifth Angel albums. I think he may have toured with Alice Cooper somewhere in the ninties as well.
Hi, loved the video Can you please rank top 10 thrash metal anthems or top 10 best thrash metal songs. I requested it many times, please see it, I would love to hear your top 10 thrash metal songs. You ranked bands and albums but didn't ranked songs
In my opinion United Abominations is the best Megadeth album of 2000s. It is quite overlooked to be honest. There’s zero fillers on the album, including a tout le monde cover feels very perky to the original and the guest vocals of Cristina Scabbia fit the remake very perfectly. Back in 2007 when I was 17 I had heard some Megadeth songs here and there (mostly the mainstream ones), but this was my serious gateway to the band, after which I became a huge fan. Therefore this album will always have a special place in my heart.
nice list man, never heard of paradox will definetly check them out thanks for the recommendations... btw seeing that you didnt even give them a honorable mention i figure you're not a big kreator fan??
I love Kreator! But I wouldn't say that their last two albums were thrash. I think Bryce said he was cutting off this modern list at 2006, so Enemy Of God (2005) just missed the cut off. Otherwise that would definitely be in my top 5. Hordes Of Chaos came out in 2007 (or '08 or '09, I can't quite remember), and while that is definitely thrash, it's one of my least favorite Kreator albums.
Top 10 Best Modern Albums (2005-present) by Classic Bands/Artists 1. Motorizer Motorhead 2. Quadra Sepultura 3. Blackstar David Bowie 4. Ironbound Overkill 5. Gods & Guns Lynyrd Skynyrd 6. Age of Unreason Bad Religion 7. 4:13 Dream The Cure 8. The Verdict Queensryche 9. McCartney III Paul McCartney 10. Thunderbolt Saxon
Exhibit B great choice, so heavy, good writing, dueling solos, killer chugging riffs. Endgame never gets old i swear and can listen all the way through good pick. Ironbound is a modern classic beginning to end. Id pick relentless retribution for death angel, gritty, lots of speed, catchy chorus.
@@thomasangelripper definitely give it a shot , i think itll grow on you, the only complaint most people have some of the songs might be unesscarily long ...i love the rob dukes era of exodus i actually prefer him over zetro .. I hear you with the old sound, something about that 80s raw thrashy sound that was magical . But i still love Garys tone , its Exodus's signature sound .
@@thomasangelripper no doubt , completely agree .....AJFA was still killer despite the length and no jason .....can u imagine how that shit would have been produced properly and trimmed down .....cool video of " justice for jason" i think thats the name ....where they add his bass too the record .....killer .
I find it cool that half of the United Abominations line up was Canadian. I think Death Megnetic was pretty solid too but it sounds like it was recorded in an outhouse
Death Magnetic has some great material but the songs are too damn long.. snip 20 mins off and it would be much better, Metallica fan since 86 and I enjoy the hell out of Hardwired .. seen them on tour in Quebec 2017 they are still incredible especially live
I was impressed to see a Paradox album on here as well as mention of Artillery. What about Accuser though? Agitation and their self-titled album are killer in my opinion. I’m also puzzled about Ironbound. To me it sounds uninspired, especially following Immortalis. Totally agree with the Megadeth choices. Those two albums are amazing!
Agreed. The System Has Failed is awesome. Has a very classic Megadeth feel. Tears in a Vial is one of the most Megadeth songs they've ever made, haha. Even though I'm sure that doesn't make sense.
I was so confused at first because in the thumbnail, it looked like Skull Fist was being touted as a thrash metal band. Not a thrash guy, but I love Skull Fist.
My picks for modern thrash would be 1.Brotherhood of the Snake 2.Endgame 3.Ironbound 4.World Painted Blood 5.Roots of Earth 6.Death Magnetic… aaaaand, if prog thrash is accepted, then Vektor’s Outer Isolation as number 1 and Black Future as number 5, behind Dark Roots
1. Slayer-Repentless 2. Overkill-The Grinding Wheel 3. Death Angel-Killing Season 4. Anthrax-Worship Music 5. Megadeth-United Abominations 6. Flotsam and Jetsam-Flotsam and Jetsam 7.Sepultura-Dante XXI 8. Testament-Dark Roots Of Earth 9. Kreator- Hordes of Chaos 10. Forbidden̲ - Ome̲g̲a Wave
Kreator - Hordes of Chaos (2009) Death Angel - Relentless Retribution (2010) Testament - Dark Roots of Earth (2013) Sepultura - Quadra (2020) Evildead - United States of Anarchy (2020) Heathen - Empire of the Blind (2020) Body Count - Bloodlust (2017) Annihilator - For the Demented (2017) Exhorder - Mourn the Southern Skies (2019) Sodom - Genesis XIX (2020)
Hardwired - Metallica: Great first half of the album which sounds like it was ripped from the 80’s; second half a bit more experimental which keeps things fresh
@@DC-yl4vc Metallica has been included on multiple lists of mine and was literally mentioned positively in this video in the honorable mentions part… move along 👋🏻

I think he may have toured with Alice Cooper somewhere in the ninties as well.
hell yeah, man! you've put the jeff waters video for the trend! a true youtube gem for the genre haha completely agree with you about Jeff, dude rips!
Hard for me to pick between Endgame and United. Both are so damn good. I would have placed Anthrax "For all Kings" on the list. Fantastic album!🤘
How did slayer not make the top 10
Because there’s better albums
@@brycetalksmetal I guess that's a matter of opinion.
Hi, loved the video
Can you please rank top 10 thrash metal anthems or top 10 best thrash metal songs.
I requested it many times, please see it, I would love to hear your top 10 thrash metal songs.
You ranked bands and albums but didn't ranked songs
Great list! This may be a hot take, but I actually think some of these bands are making better music now than in their "heyday".
Thanks and I like em but not top 10 for me on this particular list… could’ve given their last 2 albums honorable mentions though
I'm glad that United Abominations was #1, I can't think of any of album that is better by a classic thrash band in recent years!
Nice list. I would have included some Kreator. Hordes of chaos or Phantom antichrist.
Love Ironbound. That is the one I would have picked from Overkill.
dystopia was the best megadeth album in a while
Top 10 Best Modern Albums (2005-present) by Classic Bands/Artists
1. Motorizer Motorhead
2. Quadra Sepultura
3. Blackstar David Bowie
4. Ironbound Overkill
5. Gods & Guns Lynyrd Skynyrd
6. Age of Unreason Bad Religion
7. 4:13 Dream The Cure
8. The Verdict Queensryche
9. McCartney III Paul McCartney
10. Thunderbolt Saxon
bruh.
Bryce is Talking Metal though 😂
Death Angel - The Evil Divide
Testament- Titans of Creation ( so many more) Dark Root etc
Overkill - Electric Age & Ironbound
Saw Death Angel live just before the pandemic found a poster promoting the show and took it to the show
Exhibit B great choice, so heavy, good writing, dueling solos, killer chugging riffs. Endgame never gets old i swear and can listen all the way through good pick. Ironbound is a modern classic beginning to end. Id pick relentless retribution for death angel, gritty, lots of speed, catchy chorus.
Exhibit B would be higher on my list at least top 5
@@thomasangelripper too each his own .....i love old Exodus and new Exodus .....cant wait for the new one to come out this year
@@thomasangelripper definitely give it a shot , i think itll grow on you, the only complaint most people have some of the songs might be unesscarily long ...i love the rob dukes era of exodus i actually prefer him over zetro ..
@@thomasangelripper gary is absolutely a HUGE part of pioneering thrash .....ive seen Exodus many times since the 80s..
Love the Dream Calls For Blood but I think Evil Divide is even better
I was always more of a “The System Has Failed” fan over “United Abominations” and “Endgame”.
Same although I enjoy all 3 of those albums
Agreed. The System Has Failed is awesome. Has a very classic Megadeth feel. Tears in a Vial is one of the most Megadeth songs they've ever made, haha. Even though I'm sure that doesn't make sense.
That solo with Jeff Waters what album/song was that again?
The Trend from the 2010 self-titled album
I was so confused at first because in the thumbnail, it looked like Skull Fist was being touted as a thrash metal band. Not a thrash guy, but I love Skull Fist.
My picks for modern thrash would be 1.Brotherhood of the Snake 2.Endgame 3.Ironbound 4.World Painted Blood 5.Roots of Earth 6.Death Magnetic… aaaaand, if prog thrash is accepted, then Vektor’s Outer Isolation as number 1 and Black Future as number 5, behind Dark Roots
For me the recent SODOM album Genesis XIX is a Masterpiece!
I couldn't stand United Abominations when I first heard it, but it's been a long time so maybe it's time for a re-listen.
Cool list. Being a big Testament fan, I rank Dark Roots above Titans but both were better than Brotherhood imo.
Formation of Damnation hands down....followed by Dark Roots for me.
megadeth always number 1 on your lists.... as they should be!
1. Slayer-Repentless
2. Overkill-The Grinding Wheel
3. Death Angel-Killing Season
4. Anthrax-Worship Music
5. Megadeth-United Abominations
6. Flotsam and Jetsam-Flotsam and Jetsam
7.Sepultura-Dante XXI
8. Testament-Dark Roots Of Earth
9. Kreator- Hordes of Chaos
10. Forbidden̲ - Ome̲g̲a Wave
I would throw Heathen The evolution of choas is pretty solid
I take it the dude in Paradox is the former Necrophagist guitarist, guys a beast.
Metallica - Hardwired To Self-destruct
Megadeth - Th1rt3en & Dystopia
Flotsam and Jetsam - Blood in The Water
Anthrax - Worship Music & For All Kings
Kreator - Hordes of Chaos (2009)
Death Angel - Relentless Retribution (2010)
Testament - Dark Roots of Earth (2013)
Sepultura - Quadra (2020)
Evildead - United States of Anarchy (2020)
Heathen - Empire of the Blind (2020)
Body Count - Bloodlust (2017)
Annihilator - For the Demented (2017)
Exhorder - Mourn the Southern Skies (2019)
Sodom - Genesis XIX (2020)
My god ENDGAME!! Also one of my favorite Megadeth albums. But my favorite Megadeth album goes to The System Has Failed. *Scorpion*
Hardwired - Metallica: Great first half of the album which sounds like it was ripped from the 80’s; second half a bit more experimental which keeps things fresh
I agree but this is a Megadeth fanboy channel so don't expect any Metallica love lol
@@DC-yl4vc Metallica has been included on multiple lists of mine and was literally mentioned positively in this video in the honorable mentions part… move along 👋🏻
Not a big fan of United Abominations, but its nice that you Give it Some love
no Heathen - Empire of the Blind or The Evolution of Chaos ???
End Game is the best 21st century album and bite the hand is a really great song in It
Man there’s like 4 Megadeth albums that could’ve made this list if I made it, I’d go Dystopia, then Endgame, then 13, and then UA last
Definitely don't agree with United Abominations at the top but it's cool. By far, the best old school thrash bands releasing quality current albums are Overkill, Death Angel and Testament
Kreator - 'Hordes of Chaos' tops my list.
Hey what about relentless by slayer?
Repentless… it’s not bad but not top 10 for me
