Low key LA Guns - Hollywood Vampires is a personal favorite of mine. I like the chances they took on that record with more Zeppelin and psychedelic influences. I think it all sounded great.
I absolutely love Vain, Enough Rope is such a killer album, this band IMO was very underrated and overlooked by the "bigger" band RATT, Warrant etc and No Respect would be in my top 10 best albums of all time, no need for me to show my top 5-10 because you mentioned them all, Dokken and RATT are still two of my fave bands, this is a genre of music that I still absolutely love, wicked top 10, Cheers - Dan

Love most of these bands! The genre gets shit on for no reason. Cheesy? Sometimes. But the musicianship is Top notch with most bands from the era. Great guitar playing!! Dimartini, Mars, Lynch, Vito, Tom Keifer.. So good.
RATT Dokken Whitesnake Great White Cinderella White Lion ( Vito Bratta is stupid good ) Motley Crue Vinnie Vincent Invasion Yngwie Malmsteen ( some is hair metal) So many others . 80’s hair metal there’s nothing like it , my absolute favorite. Congrats on 7k subs Bryce! RUclips icon , you’re excellent at what you do man .
Great list! I am proud to say I have seen EVERY band you listed in this video live back in the day except for Bang Tango and LA Guns (I did see Steve Riley in WASP though). Awesome times!
I personally wouldn't call Dokken a glam metal band but still a good list. And I like to see how you like glam as much as you like Death, Thrash, Black and traditional metal.
Checkout Wicked Jester and Alleycat Scratch (both on Spotify) for some more underground, but phenomenal, glam metal. Both of these bands were around in the late 80s - early 90s and I guess they kinda missed the train, but they put out some really great stuff. In Wicked Jester's case their only album actually came out when they reunited in like 2011 or 2012, but all the songs are from the late 80s and you can find demos of them from back then on RUclips. They only changed some of the lyrics. It's called Royalty Sux. Super heavy and tight glam metal band, with an absolutely fantastic and very versatile singer who has a kickass tone. I'm actually kind of glad they put out the album as late as they did because the singer had time to take lessons and work on his craft and he sounds so much better than he did on the demos, lol. Alleycat Scratch put out an album in 1993 called Deadboys In Trash City which is kind of a cult classic. Their sound is maybe not so much metal, they tend more towards the sleaze rock side of things, with some punk influences in there, but it's a great record with some bangers on it. Pretty thick guitar tone, singer again has a pretty unique voice but he can definitely sing his ass off. Some of their demos like Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone are also extremely cool. Great list though, I enjoy all these bands. Do you consider Twisted Sister more of a heavy metal band than a glam one? Their stuff before Stay Hungry is definitely heavy as all hell, and even that album had some heavy songs on it like The Beast, Horror-Teria, the title track... actually, outside of the ballad and the 2 big radio hits, that album is pretty heavy, lol.
1. Poison 2. Cinderella 3. Bon Jovi 4. Ratt 5. Motley Crue (Dr. Feelgood is their glamiest albumn) 6. Def Leppard 7. Whitesnake (87' & Slip of the Tongue) 8. Kiss 9. White Lion 10. Britny Fox Other great bands; 11. Dokken 12. Europe 13. Stryper 14. Winger 15. Twisted Sister 16. Slaughter 17. Vain 18. Pretty Boy Floyd 19. Steelheart 20. Bang Gang 21. Wildside 22. Tuff All band above had the glam look and music. I could've included Firehouse, Tyketto, Trixter, Kingdom Come etc but where do you stop?😄 I consider bands like GnR, Skid Row, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat to be less glam and more "street/sleaze" than those mentioned above. In saying that Ratt, Poison, the Crue can easily be in that genre aswell. ALL THESE BANDS THAT STOOD FOR GLAM, STREET n SLEAZE, HARD ROCK in the 80's and early 90's were just simply amazing. (Cinderella my all time fav)
Was listening to White Lion's "Mane Attraction" today, there are some great songs on this albumn that never stood out to me back in the day. "Lights & Thunder", "She's Got Everything" (great intro!!), "Leave Me Alone", "Love Don't Come Easy".
I'm a huge glam metal fan. One of my favorites is early SHOTGUN MESSIAH. Saigon Kick were awesome too. I'm still discovering more obscure bands that are great like Saints & Sinners. Their song Frankenstein will blow your mind with an incredibly fast solo.
Love Saigon Kick and Shotgun Messiah. By early, I assume you didn't like the third album lol, since they only had 3? Same core elements, but added industrial touches. Vocalist/bassist Tim is still doing that style to this day in his solo project Skold.
@@kitoyobeni1 I actually like their third album too, it's just not glam. I like Industrial and have several Skold CDs. My favorite album is still Second Coming. I saw them live on that tour with T-Ride (also great) and they put on an amazing show. I even met the bassist Bobby Lycon before the show, he was really cool.
@@steveverboom I like all 3 but prefer the debut. Love T-Ride too. Have you heard the Shotgun Live album? Zinny Zan and Stix without Tim and Harry, but a solid flashback to that debut.
I'm a big fan of some glam metal but I am also a huge fan of thrash metal, old school US power metal, early progressive metal, first wave death metal, old school doom metal etc..
DOKKEN, my favorite band since 1987, but STRYPER, TYKETTO, XYZ, SARAYA, TREAT and HARDLINE should be in this list, also SHY, GUARDIAN, EUROPE, and SHARK ISLAND are interesting options.
I was around the scene when glam metal was at its peak. Some I loved, some I didn't and some I pretended not to like because it wasn't 'cool' #10 was part of that final category but there is no denying the talent. Winger, I agree with, as well. Reb Beach was a monster and saw him when he joined Dokken. I believe Kip was also bassist for Alice Cooper before branching out on his own. Awesome to hear he's still putting out music and hope you have fun at the show! Oh, White Lion. Huge fan and I agree, 1st album tops Pride. Vito was a monster player and here in NJ, on WSOU, he got his due. Well respected. I don't think anyone had better hair than Mike Tramp. Jesus, what I would have done to have his mane. And that was glam metal, so looks had a lot to do with it. Just these guys backed it up with talent and great tunes. Crue: first two releases were beyond amazing and when I first got into metal. But after that they lost me. And then there was the accident that killed Hanoi Rocks, sorry for the pun or whatever you call it. They better be on the list, btw. HOLY SHIT, IT'S VAIN!!!! Omg, I am stunned. I honestly never expected to see such an awesome band ever place on any list. I do believe Davy also produces and did at least a couple of Third Angel releases. Fuckin good on ya Bryce, you know your shit! Cinderella, what can I say except Keifer is the band. As stated, amazing musician and filled the genre with so many great tunes. Love his bluesy influences so much more, as well. And now it's on to the Los Angeles Guns. Dude, you are hitting all the right notes for me. Another fave of mine. Love when you wear the shirt as you may recall I mentioned. Dude, how could you not reference that Over the Edge was featured in the Keanu Reeves classic Point Blank?! One of their best along with Ballad of Jayne, IMO. Hollywood Vampires. Well placed. Ratt was great, but never was a fave of mine. Do agree Warren is one of the more underrated and more talented guitarists. And now it's the top and you did not disappoint. Appreciate you qualifying Skid Row, that was important. Dokken are deserved number ones. I could pontificate on tunes but that would be a thousand more words. Would just like to say that Donnie's solo release, Up from the Ashes...best Dokken recording of all time top to bottom. And that's saying something because their first 4 or 5 were spectacular. Honorables will follow because I am fucking tired but loved this Bryce, well done
I would recommend an amazing band that never quite made it. From NYC in the very early 90's--Champagne Suicide. They were glam with a punk edge. You can find some of their songs on youtube. They were recorded horribly, like on a boombox. They're the trve cvlt of Glvm. Lol. With songs like I Smell Cindy, Date Rape Barbie, Sex In The USA, Pretty In Punk & Used Abused Baby.

It’s tough when talking about some bands especially Whitesnake since they started off as a straight forward bluesy 70s hard rock band then evolved to fit in with a lot of these bands in the mid-late 80s

My top 10 would have included them, along with Autograph (criminally underrated band - at least when Steve Plunkett was still in it), Black n' Blue and Stryper.
I totally agree with your opinion about LA Guns as far as it has to have Phil. But the ones with Phil and Tracii are without a doubt their best. Their second record, Cocked & Loaded, is one of my all time glam/hair/whatever the fuck you wanna call it. Cinderella is fantastic. Their debut is great, but Long Cold Winter is also an all timer for me. I've still got my OP of Out of the Cellar and Dancing Undercover. I need to grab the vinyl for Detonator. Infestation is a good record. I don't rank Dokken as highly as you, but I agree Under Lock and Key is their best.
Damn, glad you remembered Vain! Too many people overlook them. Just subscribed to your channel. I've done some vinyl unboxings over on my channel you might like.
Great list. Hair metal is my classic rock and doesn't get the credit it deserves in rock and roll history. My local radio station doesn't play it enough it's always ac dc and metallica over and over. This is my favorite genre in all of music. If I were to somehow do a list like this, there would be tons of entries. All my life, I've been captivated by this genre. This and the thrash bands of the 80s are the best! I also really enjoy Steel Panther. Even if they're a parody, they still kick ass and are also hilarious. 🤘😎🎸🤘
Wow 😧😳🤯🤯☕☕☕.? How many cups of coffee, or perhaps cans of Red Bull, did you drink before this? I'm going to admit I've never heard anyone talk so fast but yet be so knowledgeable. Great stuff. Stellar list! Love it! And super jealous that you're seeing Winger, Firehouse, and Bulletboys on Friday! Please upload clips of that show for us! And have a super fun time too! 😎🎸🎶🎤
Low key LA Guns - Hollywood Vampires is a personal favorite of mine. I like the chances they took on that record with more Zeppelin and psychedelic influences. I think it all sounded great.
Not a big fan of that album, but Over The Edge & Crystal Eyes are amazing.
One Way Ticket
Great Vid Brotha! I’d have to go with..
1. Ratt
2. Dokken
3. Cinderella
4. Whitesnake
5. Y&T
Hands down my favourite channel . Great list as always . It's an education in Rock for me. Class!
Thanks very much! 💯👍🏻
Bryce. You have got such a great channel that is informative and extremely interesting. I admire your integraty and honestly.
First class presenting and kick ass content. Keep up the great work!
Your hard work is much appreciated.
Big shout from Castle Donington U.K.
Love most of these bands! The genre gets shit on for no reason. Cheesy? Sometimes. But the musicianship is Top notch with most bands from the era. Great guitar playing!! Dimartini, Mars, Lynch, Vito, Tom Keifer.. So good.

So many others .
Leppard is my favorite glam metal band Pyromania and Hysteria. On Through the Nigh and High n Dry were their heavier stuff and I love Adrenalize
Have you ever listened to or heard of Killer Drawfs? Great video. Thanks.
Yes they’re cool and thanks!
I personally wouldn't call Dokken a glam metal band but still a good list. And I like to see how you like glam as much as you like Death, Thrash, Black and traditional metal.
I have no problem referring to Dokken as a straight up classic heavy metal band but I think they can definitely be considered glam metal as well
I've seen the photos. Dokken was quite glamorous.
Dokken was definitely Glam.
@@brycetalksmetal --- don't listen to the OP --- Dokken was definitely a hair metal band --- I had all their albums in the 80's
Dokken is definitely glam. What the hell . Why aren't they ?
1-Dokken

Oh bro I live In Kentucky. Also love the Iron Maiden poster in the back
Checkout Wicked Jester and Alleycat Scratch (both on Spotify) for some more underground, but phenomenal, glam metal.
I know and like both of those 👍🏻... and I’ve never been a huge Twisted Sister fan so they wouldn’t be on my list regardless
@@brycetalksmetal fair enough man. Cool to see someone else appreciate those two bands though, props for that.
1. Poison
2. Cinderella
3. Bon Jovi
4. Ratt
5. Motley Crue (Dr. Feelgood is their glamiest albumn)
6. Def Leppard
7. Whitesnake (87' & Slip of the Tongue)
8. Kiss
9. White Lion
10. Britny Fox
Other great bands;
11. Dokken
12. Europe
13. Stryper
14. Winger
15. Twisted Sister
16. Slaughter
17. Vain
18. Pretty Boy Floyd
19. Steelheart
20. Bang Gang
21. Wildside
22. Tuff
All band above had the glam look and music. I could've included Firehouse, Tyketto, Trixter, Kingdom Come etc but where do you stop?😄
I consider bands like GnR, Skid Row, L.A.
Vain's hella underrated.. one my favorites too
Shake and Tumble is Firehouse's best song, imo... everything about the song is awesome. Should have been a huge hit.
Dude, Vain is so underrated! Without You is great, probably my favorite but I also really like Who’s Watching You and Beat The Bullet!
I'm a huge glam metal fan. One of my favorites is early SHOTGUN MESSIAH. Saigon Kick were awesome too. I'm still discovering more obscure bands that are great like Saints & Sinners. Their song Frankenstein will blow your mind with an incredibly fast solo.
thanks for flashback miss all these groups and their music.love seeing some of these groups still around in some capacity
@@kitoyobeni1 Yeah, I have that live CD too. I wish the entire original band would get back together and make another album.
Hard rock/AOR
Dokken’s best song for me is definitely Lightnin’ Strikes Again!!! I love that song!! My favorite album is Under Lock And Key too!
Guitar solo on that is insane
Top 5:
(5:) White Lion
(4:) Cinderella
(3:) Mötley Crüe
(2:) Tesla
(1:) Dokken
HM:
- Ratt
- Skid Row
- Stryper
- Kiss
- Poison
Sorry but I would replace Tesla with Ratt --- Tesla didnt make the huge impact on 80's hair metal scene like Ratt did
So blessed to have grown up in this era.
I was around the scene when glam metal was at its peak. Some I loved, some I didn't and some I pretended not to like because it wasn't 'cool'
#10 was part of that final category but there is no denying the talent.
I like how this is a true hair Metal list. Without just regular ‘80s “rock n roll” bands like Guns N Roses & Van Halen thrown into the mix
Sleeze Beez is very underrated! Stranger in Paradise is so cool! Reminds me of summertime between college years
I would recommend an amazing band that never quite made it.
Glam metal is my favorite genre! I met Perry Richardson and Dave Meniketti! Both very nice guys!
My top 10 - 10. Bon Jovi 9. Skid Row 8. Motley Crue 7. Whitesnake 6. Dokken 5. Great White 4. Ratt 3. White Lion 2. Def Leppard 1. Cinderella P.S. "I wanna Rock - Rock !!!!!!!!
Dokken is one of my all time favorites. Not even sure they're glam necessarily, they had kind of their own sound and they also wrote some pretty heavy shit like Kiss of death.
If they put product in their hair, wore eyeliner and lip gloss, and wore spandex they were glam.
How much have you listened to Dog Eat Dog by Warrant? I just discovered it last year, and it's freaking amazing! Also, I think you're sleeping on Heartbreak Station by Cinderella. Sounds like a cross between ACDC and The Stones!
I recall Poison and Whitesnake getting played among my middle school friends a lot. Some others-
Warrant
Kix
Slaughter
Great top 10!! Awesome bands! I’m totally agree with firehouse on this list! Very underrated band but glad to see them in this top 10 🤟🏻😎🤟🏻
Awesome list! I personally would have put Firehouse higher on it. Another band that should have been in there is Europe! Anyways, job well done 🤘.
You know your stuff! Great choices, I love how ratt and dokken are tops! I'm a massive glam fan! Love it, and yes you can like all the genres!
Crue, warrant,Cinderella, Slaughter White Lion, Dokken, Ratt only glam I like 👍
I like Glam Metal. Great stuff, Great vocal, great guitarrs!
I agree upon your list. Last time i was at a concert, a guy stopped me and told me that he appreciated my RATT patch on my killer jacket! He told me that that is something "You don't se a lot".

Don’t know if you know them but King Kobra is probably my favorite. Super underrated and Carmine Appice jams on those records!
II grew up in the 80's and I'm good with the top of this list. I'd have Whitesnake in the top three, but maybe they don't qualify because of their age. RATT is no doubt my #1!
It’s tough when talking about some bands especially Whitesnake since they started off as a straight forward bluesy 70s hard rock band then evolved to fit in with a lot of these bands in the mid-late 80s
I saw Firehouse live with Winger and it was a blast Cj can still wail
I'd put Great White on this list over a number of them, but I agree with quite a few.
Hallo Bryce

Great list. I've seen all of them back in the day. As far as playing live the 2 best I've seen that were Always good... Dokken and Jetboy. The guys in Jetboy were the greatest as far as meeting and greeting their fans.
Motley Crue
Ratt
Def Leppard
Dokken
Cinderella
L.A. Guns
Tesla
Quiet Riot
White Lion
80's Kiss
Warrant
Helix
Damn Yankees

I laugh whenever somebody says there were no good glam metal bands. Granted, I find certain bands like Poison and Bon Jovi to be abysmal, that's just my opinion. Not a fact. There's plenty of great glam metal out there.
@Ted Rocka Fair point.
Glam metal is the best here is a pretty good list of my favorites.
1.) Firehouse
2.) Ratt
3.) Europe
4.) Dokken

20.) Guiffria
Some great picks here -- glad to see Bang Tango at least received an honorable mention. 1991's "Dancin' on Coals" is one of my all-time faves!
Those top 2 are money! Great list.
I think we're long past the stage of it not being cool to listen to hair metal. It's not 1995 anymore.
I literally don’t listen to a band without your list’s permission, agree with your list
If I were to have a big 4 it would include Dokken, Extreme, White Lion, and Scorpions (if you consider them glam)
I got firehouse debut album on cassette tape, also l winger first two albums, white lion 1987 album pride on cassette tape, four motley crue album, and more. 😀👍🤘🎸
I loved the bands that didn't have many albums - Britny Fox, Faster Pussycat and Firehouse. I'm sure no one will consider them due to their material but Stryper was amazing. My favorite guilty go to glam group is Poison. I saw them live 6 times. Only band, IMHO, to give KISS a challenge for best live show. In fact I saw Poison open for KISS. Great show.
Awesome!
Vain was a great suprise. That debut is amazing.

I don't listen to much metal anymore but I HATED glam metal (especially being into hardcore punk and hip hop) but ironically now I respect those guys so much.. Lots of talent and true ROCKSTAR BIG D ENERGY lol. It's funny how these guys had more balls than most so called bands have now
George can play absolutely anything any style anytime 👍👍....awesome list
i wasn't sure dokken was glam metal but considering the makeup they had wore on under lock and key i'll go with it ,i'm glad vain was in there i rank them high up on my list even kiss took place in this glam era just watch tear's are falling lol i'm convinced motley crue probably started it and a nod to twisted sister not on this list but could have been
