- The OG 3 Are BACK BABY! We are resuming our Sister Wives Rewatch, tonight we are discussing season 2 episode 1 and I'm so excited to be back chatting with @mytakeonreality and @realiteasquad! This is an iconic episode of the show, the one where Kody & Robyn go to San Diego on their honeymoon leaving his 3 wives and 16 kids at at home.

I think Christine got a lot of grief for her “perkiness”, but she was so real and vulnerable. Plus, the proof in the pudding is that the kids all love her so much.
Soo here's the thing...when we talk about "Karen's" (which honest confuses me!? As I'm listening to "non" Karen which confuses me!? & than I watch Sister Wives & think (based on my narrative!) Aren't THEY ALL KAREN'S!? LOLOL! Including KODY!? I don't know the rules! Just sayin!

First of all Kody didn’t care how the kids felt about school. Second, Kody felt Vegas would be less of a threat. Third, Kody just likes to move on a whim(as the OG3 said). I don’t think there was any thought. And I still believe(especially abusive husbands) love to take their woman as far away from family, friends, community to keep control. He wanted to be their mesiah. He wanted to be the narrator of their lives. But he’s lazy. He could never keep it up.
Kody kept the wives off balanced to gain control. He also liked to isolate & cause decisiveness between the women so they did not gel. Kody definitely told Robyn every little complaint or dissatisfaction he had with the OG3 & Robyn used that to manipulate kody. As a Mother it is criminal how she was able to throw a wrench over & over to separate Kody from his 13 bio kids.
Kody got played by Robyn in part because with time Kody was too lazy to handle a fatherly relationship with 18 kids. Maybe Kody 18 kids is too many kids if you can simply ignore them & feel justified because they disappointed you in their lack of kissing your feet. Children grow into adults with their own views & needs separate from a parent. That is normal behavior. Kody does not abide anyone who is not blindly loyal. Your kids are not your wives who at some point agreed to bend their will to you. (I don't even believe that is what the wives vowed Kody. Seems like Kody considered himself some kind of God on earth let alone on a planet in poky after life) 😅😅😅
I need to set a reminder for these lives so I can join in the chat! The Karen Read case is fascinating. All of the audio, video, and witness accounts of her reaction to finding him just feels like how I can imagine myself reacting if I were in that situation. Absolutely hysterical and almost crazy screaming from being so scared. I hope justice is served for the victim.
Shane Sherwood makes me sad. I think his health takes a major toll on him and he’s projecting that frustration and fear onto this seeking sister wife scenario. That scene definitely did not show them in a good light.
Im also obsessed with the Reed case, that poor woman is being railroaded.
Knowing Kody, he wanted Robyn to have her own house and the other three to share one house for financial reasons.
James, here is what popped in my head when yall were discussing the Ryan's. I think it was you who asked why they aren't using their church/ community to find another wife.... I wonder if they were excommunicated when Becky's step dad was arrested and they don't have that church network anymore. This is totally speculation off the top of my head, but you had also made the comment about the Brown kids schooling and wondered if the coop said they couldn't go to school there anymore because the TV show outed them.... maybe that's why the Ryan's haven't lived polygamy yet because their family was shunned. There may not be a lick of accuracy to this speculation, but it makes since. P.S. can't wait to see the video on P Diddy tomorrow.
I think Robyn didn’t want her kids to go to the co-op school, so they all went to public school.
I don’t think Kody wanted one house(it was a show dialog)especially with Robyn. He complained about not being able to express their love. It would never happen in the one house. He knew the women didn’t want it.especially Robyn. She never wanted to live with the other women. Janelle didn’t care.
I worked in the Admissions division of a big public university for 5 years and can say there isn't a major advantage for private school kids vs. public school kids overall when it comes to higher ed. Some private schools are very advanced and can provide students with resources that give them a leg up, but that's certainly not the majority. (The private high school in my hometown doesn't even require teachers to have a teaching credential- you just have to hold the appropriate religious views and have a bachelor's degree- in any area, not necessarily the one you're teaching.) There was also concern among staff and faculty that many of the students from private schools struggled after matriculation, either diving headfirst into all the things they hadn't been allowed to do when they lived with their parents, or trying to avoid people who believed in or did things they hadn't been exposed to before.

you should check out the paternity scandal of the Bachelor's Clayton Echard. Some podcaster claims she got pregnant with twins after oral , is taking him to court, admitted to altering monograms after he rejected a relationship contract. Then she mysteriously miscarried but can't say when.
Guys, I noticed there was more of talking over each other. That is such a shame as I missed a few comments due to the mics not picking that up.
I lived in the Coachella valley. Not enough grass in my day to ice block. Although in my day we had access to ice blocks readily. We had a grass knoll at our new Football field and we used cardboard boxes opened up to slide down. It also ruined the grass. So we were chased off.it took a lot of water and care to keep that green in the desert.😂

I went to a private kindergarten but then I went to public school. My children also went to public schools. I think they both have their positive and negative aspects. I’m not big on home schooling unless you’re in a group of other home school students and teachers. Some children who are home schooled alone at home with no outside influence don’t seem to really learn as much. I know some people that were home schooled at home alone and I don’t think they could pass a high school graduation test. And there’s no way of knowing if the children have access to the answer books that come with the home school program. My children also went to college but most of the home schooled alone children I know did not. I’m sure there are a lot of children that were home schooled that went to college but the majority of them were in a group of some kind.
Did the drag racing in the LA washes too. Bc they used to be mostly dry in the 60’s and 70’s
& oh by the way Australians get a different show than here in America..
