Here's a comment i wrote previously that i think you should read: _"I've seen so many people joking about Korgot's gun placement but, you gotta ask yourself, isn't the thought of a gun poping out of your chest weird, regardless of your gender?"_
OMG yes!!! For like the longest time I've had Pohatu and Nilkuu, but that was before he had his name so I just called him POS because that's all I could come up with other than "Protector of Stone." It just seemed like an unfitting name to a Bionicle. Like seriously, just read this: "Hi, BillyBob!" "Hi Protector of Stone!" Like what?
I think Kivoda was ORIGINALLY going to be female because the activity book (it was there for cheap) describes him as a HER. But thank goodness canonically he is a boy makes things much more interesting by making Korgot a girl
Y'know, I did get the sort of hint that the protector of earth was somewhat feminine. Her legs are thicker near the top, and her waistline is actually quite thin. Although her shoulders are broad, if you take off the rocky armor you'll find that she does look more feminine without it. Also the chest cannon, really Lego? Is that suppose to be an iron man type thing, or is it a tribute to Austin Powers?
In all honesty, I don't dislike the names, I just can't remember them. The original Toa, Turaga, and most of the Matoran I can name off the back of my hand easily, even tons of the Rahi, that is mostly due to the fact that their names actually belong to real languages from what I know. These just sound thrown together, their more the names you'd expect to hear on MOCs, nifty sounding, but nothing you'll really remember in the future. Not against the names, I just don't find them very memorable personally.
also I really wish that they stuck with the original genders for the protectors/ turaga I was making mods with all of them combining their turaga, mtetru, and gen 2 models
maybe they didnt want (they is LEGO) the Ga-Matoran Syndrome where "You are this element so you are this gender" so yeah just RANDOM....wait if in the futre they make more toa that arnt the ones we know there could be a fire toa that is female..huh
I think it would have been more interesting if Lego made both Kivoda and Korgot female, or even if they made one genderless or nonbinary(though they likely wouldn't have done that), but it still is interesting. They all have cool designs and names though. I especially love the builds of Korgot and Narmoto.
+Skirmixstudios Tarix Berix Takadox Vezok Stars Piraka (It might be called Nektann) possibly the blue Tarakava? possibly the blue Nui Jaga? possibly the blue Hydruka (forgot name) possibly the blue Visorak (forgot name) possibly any blue Krana or Krana Kal? the blue Phantoka (Dammit, I need to memorize names) and in the Glatorian legends wave there was a titan set of 2 blue guys and a motorcycle with a sidecar. Looked male to me?
Gamesplosion Ftw No, they're Toa Kaita. I don't think a Toa Nui is mentioned in canon, but a Matoran Nui is a combination of six Matoran and a Turaga Nui is a combination of six Turaga. That's my logic.
Gamesplosion Ftw ...Then you're gonna be a little disappointed. For whatever reason, a Turaga Kaita is made up of _four_ Turaga. I honestly have no idea why.
I wanna see someone make a game for this generation and for the levels, it starts out with a cutscene of the toa's star falling from the sky and landing in their respective elemental land, where then you get to see the protectors in the middle of their "city", while they question what the noise was, and then you get to play as them and go find the toa in their dormant form! Also for her game mechanics Korgot: The heaviest and slowest protector having a speed of 3.5 (1 is slow as a snail, while 10 is Lewa speeds) while having a strength of 4.7 (max for protectors is 5). Her elemental attacks are shock waves through the earth and throwing rocks at enemies, also since her cannon is a part of her, her firing speed is a shocking 6 which is pretty good. Though eventually in your adventure, you will encounter a skull spider that is stronger than normal that not only is more dangerous but also tears off the protector's masks, then forces themselves onto the protector, which in turn grants them control, also triggering a boss fight to start where you need to fight the protectors and knock off the skull spider mask, which then depending on the toa, will be killed automatically (Like, Onua crushes it with his hammer or steps on them, Tahu/Kopaka/Pohatu slice it in half, while the others just stab it)
I don't think so. Referring to characters by name is just a useful storytelling device. It would get old really fast if each one was strictly called "The Protector of >ELEMENT
I am in shock .. So Random for it to actually be a women , I expected though if said that all the others should be women and 1 guy .. It would make about 5% out of 15% if what I expected was true ... DOT DOT DOT DOT ..... DOT !!
ruclips.net/video/7418Lvjuzq8/видео.html I had to listen to this when I heard Korgot is a chick. Because female bio-mechanical beings totally have broad chests with a giant gatling gun.
I'm surprised, in the last generation, all the ga-matorian are female, while the others were both male, and female. I know it's not a big deal, I thought they were gonna call then vakama, nokama, matau, nuju, whenua, and onewa, while I like the names of the protectors, I do hope we get the Turaga, but the protector of water, and earth switching sexes is different.
tgiacin435 Actually no, the Ga-Matoran were female, the rest was male (well, except for Vo-Matoran, Matoran of Lighting, who were also female, and Av-Matoran, Matoran of Light, who were both male and female. But they're not that well-known as the six basic Matoran types :P)
Ok, that kinda makes more sense, but did they have to make the protector of water male, it just seems weird to me, like they give gali, and the protector of water that feminine look, then say he's male, while the protector of earth is more akin to the other male protectors, but she's female, I think just the main thing is her gun is on the chest, like they wanted to have an Austin powers reference, it's just weird, it's not bad, just different.
I wouldn't say Kivoda looks feminine. He's got pretty gender-neutral look, like most of the Protectors. Korgot on the other hand looks quite masculine, but we can just assume she's that type of "strong" woman. At least her mask doesn't scream "I'M A MAN", unlike some of the old masks worn by female characters (for example Hahli Inika or Gali Mistika).
I wouldn't it either, again it just caught me off guard, but one thing I hope we get are matoran, and maybe introduce the turaga, and give them individual masks, like I understand if the protectors have the same masks, but I want to see modern renditions of takua, jaller, and Hali, and maybe have the turaga as village elders, idk.
Voxovan Actually, there is another one example of female Matoran. One of the much lesser- known secondary elements, Psionics, has Matoran that are not _all_ female, but _mostly_ female. The first Ce- Matoran, born a Toa, was name Orde, and was _male._ But when he was sent to calm down some Zyglak, he overused his power a little bit and made them angrier. So after that, all future Ce- Matoran were made female, because they would need a lighter touch with their powers. Now, that leaves a question. Why aren't there more female Matoran? By the logic demonstrated here, then Ta- Matoran, Ba- Matoran, and Su- Matoran should be the girliest girls in the entire Solis Magna system- Can you imagine what would happen if the Bohrok had taken full control of Tahu? He could have destroyed the entire island of Mata Nui! (Le- Koro, Ko- Koro, and Onu- Koro with particular ease) And that's not including Ba- Matoran and Su- Matoran, who could do the same thing, possibly even more easily, if they wanted to. I know using the Bohrok is a bad example, but that's just demonstrating how easily a Toa of Fire could cause huge destruction. And yet they're worrying about Toa of Lightning being too powerful. Silly Great Beings.
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt the one protector i have is a girl

+bdablader95 xD so true
I love the fact the names are very tribal like, and the fact that not only water types are female now!
Ive always thought it should be half and half with gender, i found tbe gender restrictions dumb
This is quite a surprise, to say the least. Thanks for the update.
Plot twist: They are all actually women :0
Except for the protector of water :P
All jokes aside, yay they got names!
NovaZtar Vizuna could be female, seeing as his'her gender has yet to be confirmed.
Toa BionicleFactory Um nope. The "leaked" book pages confirm Vizuna as male I believe.
Student Scissors. Oh. Scratch that, then.
The website also refers to the Protector of Jungle as a "him" in the description of the sensor tail.

Not to mention the inclusion of red skull spiders
Y'know, I did get the sort of hint that the protector of earth was somewhat feminine.

Also, Samus Aran syndrome, the one person that you really thought for sure was a dude turned out to be a woman in the end.
Yea, and Korgot does have a big chest with the machine gun and the shoulder armor so i think it's perfectly fine that she's a girl
TheLegendOfBeyBlade Umm,Korgot has anti-pedophile machine-gun beetwen her boobs.XD
The gun IS her boobs
