I was wondering if someone could help me. When I turned off my 1981 Shovelhead FXS Lowrider I heard a sizzling sound in the rear rocker box on the right side. This just started happening this week after I warmed the engine up for about 5 minutes. This sound was never there before and have not started the bike since.
Great series of videos thank you for posting them. Can you tell me please, at 3:55 what did your machinist say? "and how they get around that you just ..." What did he say there, do what to the valve? I saw you solved it later by removing material but I’m curious what he suggested to do. Thanks!
@@delorean1 Oh okay - "stem the valve a bit" - never heard that expression before. Thank You very much for taking the time to review it and answer my question...it's the little things in life lol! So you took a bit out of the rocker box and got clearance that way...nice!
I have a similar problem in my shovelhead as in the 10 minute mark. Were you able to locate the problem? was it a drain issue or crank case issue? and is there any explanation how it could just effect the one cylinder? you can see it in my video here ruclips.net/video/nHeTDcoJhcU/видео.html
Excellent video
Thank you very much!

I've never seen a Shovelhead assembled without valve guide seals?
Not 100% sure but I think it wasn't until 1980 Harley started using valve seals.
@@rcanoli99 really, I never knew that. I watch a guy on Utube, Tatro Machine, he put seals in every engine he builds, at least for street bikes.
