It's a beautiful watch. The Art Deco era really shows a time of fine good taste evident in fashion and diction and the Cellini Prince is a fine example. And the fact that it's water resistant to 50 meters basically enough for sand and surf which indeed qualifies the Cellini Prince as a sports watch. Rubber strap Papa Bear?
Rather what separates the watch lovers from the snobs. As I just said to Irixguy when he was comparing his Breitling Superocean Heritage with his Rolex No date sub ceramic. Both watches are practically of the same quality since the Breitling MT 5602 doesn't differ that much from the Rolex Caliber 3230 and 3235, both with the same type of impeccable ceramic bezel. The snobs really don't love watches, they are just in it for the prestige, and they often react with a peculiar disdain or contempt when you are comparing watches, because their entire focus is directed towards brand integrity rather than quality. I like your Cellini Prince, and I see where you are coming from with the art deco comparison.
I can see why people love this watch but I can also see why people don’t. I have no use for a dress watch in my current lifestyle but sometimes I wish I did. Too bad the Rolex dress watches are/were only available in precious metal. If they would be more affordable I think they would get more attention. Enjoy this gorgeous piece Bear.

I have always maintained that the Cellini range is one of the most underrated watch collections from any house yet has remained in the shadow of Patek and also the other Rolex sports watches for way too long. This is an absolute peach (and as an architect, I agree with your opinion on Art Deco architecture - always has been the favourite architectural style for me).

Perhaps the thing I would have disagree on is the title because when I think of an enthusiast I think this Rolex would be the only one they would own and not added to a collection of other Rolex pieces, if anyone bought this as their only Rolex I would take my hat out to them.
