I just put together a similar system using a Dell Optiplex 9020 MT! Kept the case, added 16 GB of RAM, (24 GB total), added 1 TB WD Blue SSD, kept the 500 GB Seagate 7200 RPM HD, and added an EVGA GT 1050 Ti. The system runs great! Nice and fast after tweaking Windows. The system has an Intel I5 4690. I couldn't be happier!
Nice job! Creep it up man! 👍🏽
I've been wanting to do this with a hp sff that has a i7-2600 in it and you have just given me the Tech YES Approval to do so.
HP? Oh man... I don't want to give you bad news, but the HPs of those generations weren't exactly easy to "transplant", like the Lenovos, they were pretty simple; HP usually uses a different power connector and/or a different motherboard format that doesn't fit regular cases...
@@rhyzon it depends on which hp. I just used an hp ipisb motherboard from whatever pc its from. It has a 24 pin connector and even the proper power button pins. it just needs a work around that involves flashing the bios to get any graphics card newer than gtx 600 series.
@@budbundy2909 he means that the mobo of those hp models are not re-casesable or you cant put the mobo in a regular atx/matx case because of its different form factor.
@@rhyzon You are right about the cases and that was the main reason I didn't do so. It has a BTX motherboard and a BTX case is hard to find that would work for me. I was thinking about making an open air case but never got around to doing so. I never did look into seeing if they make an adapter for a PSU upgrade, which I probably should do.
@@hlbatesjr that's exactly what I meant. And I know that there is an adapter somewhere, there's some people who have done it. But to be perfectly honest, as someone who has used those mobos before: save the CPU, sell the remainder of the system and grab an H61 mobo, it's a lot easier :D.
Excited for the Windows 10 lite version video.
Hahaha, finding the yes tech mojo again! You’ve literally just made a potato into a something, just like going back to your roots of this channel.... that’s why u feel soooo oddishly proud.
Tech YES Hustle
Heat Shrink tubing is a wonderful thing...
yeah made me cringe was cheap tape aswell
Must be the Tech Yes Girl
That was how i built my first pc 100$ for i7 m93 8gb then upgrade psu and case for 60$ and a hyper 212 for 30$ and r9 380 for 40$ upgraded ram to 16gb for free i think. Brings back the good ol memories
I hope to create some good memories. i am realizing that If I had access to info and advice like I get from youtube, I would have gotten into building PCs a long time ago. I wasn't around people who knew these kinds of things and I myself didn't know. It's a lot of information to take in< I am just learning about GPUs and discovering that I had a chance to build a pc when I was growing up. My Parents worked in government and I used to salvage hard drives from the massive amounts of waste that happens behind the scenes of government IT. I realize that I might have even been able to play any game I wanted to, with some tinkering.
These days I have a family and bills. I am just trying to build a pc to replace my i5 laptop which has its limitations now after 9 years. its a bitter sweet thing because had I been a computer geek, I wouldn't have discovered the things I did.
I’m interested in this Secret custom windows install that you’re talking about? Can you explain this a little further I didn’t really understand but I would like to know more about it
All we be answered soon, fellow pirate captain. HEYARRR
@@techyescity do I miss the slowpoke RX 550 4gb in your list
Pirated windows 10 from torrents? Lol
Ameliorated &/ older version perhaps, which also had Windows 10 debloater. We'll see soon enough though. Might be time to flash a new install.
This maybe?

I watched this and I love it haha.
I built a machine JUST like this for my friend.
Lenovo M73 Mid Tower i5 4570 motherboard + CPU
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3
GTX 960 4GB
PowerSpec 550W PSU 80 Plus bronze + 24 pin to 14 pin adapter
120GB SSD
1TB HDD
DITPY 60 dollar RGB Case plus the 80MM fan from the Lenovo
I replaced the 80mm fan on the CPU Cooler with a blue LED 80MM fan
It looks awesome the whole PC lights up blue
Started building budget PCs this january, inspired by your videos. Tomorrow it's time for build #4.
The music is one of the reasons why i always come back. :)
that's exactly the cpu I'm using
i5 4440 (turbo boost on@3.3ghz🤯)😛
rx570 4gb
8gb dual channel@1600 mhz
msi h81
1tb hdd+500gb hdd+256gb ssd+120gb ssd.
I need to have a lot of operating system maan😅😅
What os's do you run?
Lemme guess, 😅
1Tb for whatever files
500Gb for backups
256Gb for important programs & other OS
120Gb for main OS
For a finishing touch, cut the fan exhaust grille from the old M93 case to cover the hole next to the SFF power supply. Should be able to use double sided tape to secure it, maybe a dab of superglue. If you don't want all the holes, any flat black cutout from the side of the old case will do. The Dremel is your friend!
I literally built an sold a system with this exact motherboard and an i5-4460 this week. Even used blue LED fans just like you... used a three pin fan splitter to extend to the molex-powered fan and get rid of that boot error screen. Paired it with a GTX 770, similar build cost, sold for $500. This is the third time that you've uploaded of a video of a system nearly identical to a system I've recently flipped. I even picked up the OC version of that exact GTX 1050 TI last week, sadly for a much steeper $120, but in this market I'll take it.
nvm I guess it was an HP but still..
New grilfriend in the background ? :)
Noticed that lol
she needs some Tech Yes lovin too ;)
@@Sonu666 legend
Nowadays man can consider a PC his girlfriend. Oh the chick? She was just buying a PC ;)
@@techyescity what is the track you used at the beginning of your vid?????
These are great! I picked up it's older cousin - an M91p - for free. Nice thing about those is, they use standard ATX power connections (although the sff PSU is very meh - 230w). All the RAM was bad, but the board was solid and of course a 2nd gen i5...put it in a Musetex case with a GTX760 and until recently when I got a 4th gen Optiplex tower with 8gb, it was my streaming PC.
I also take the spare 80MM fan from these PC's and I put them next to the hole from using the OEM PSU as not only a place for the fan to go or a thing to per say fill that spot but the OEM PSU doesnt have a good cooling method so having additional airflow helps
*Never buy an GTX 1050ti, when you can buy an 4Gb RX 470 / RX 570 for the same price !!!* Because the RX 470 / RX 570 is 30 % faster !
Good luck finding one for a normal price I have seen 470/570s for $200-250 and 580s for 300+
Keypoint: *for the same price*
Because as far as I know, it cost at least 60% more than gtx 1050 ti
Seems like you've been out of the loop a bit. Normally you would be right but prices are crazy right now.
Agreed but its all about what you can find right now.
I just got a rx 580 8gb for 100$@melvinhans1844
My budget build Esports gaming PC parts came in today for a build I'm doing for my buddy. It'll be his first one. $654 but that price includes a 24" 75Hz monitor and peripherals, 16GB OLOy RAM, ASRock A320, 120GB M.2 SSD for boot drive, 1TB BarraCuda for mass storage, AeroCool Cylon RGB Mid Tower, Apevia CAPTAIN550 ATX PSU, and of course a Ryzen 3 2200G until GPUs come down. Holding my new ones like gold and this will crush CSGO and Valorant for now.
My current "gaming pc" have i5 4570, 8gb ram and 1050ti LP in mini ITX case. Not much, but I love this little guy 😁🤘
Which one is better in your thoughts ryzen 5 3400 g pc or this one on a vedio
@@StrangerDanger352 that shouldn't even be a question, ryzen is better in every way but more expensive
"Unobtainium" wow you really made laugh 🤣🤣
I am so happy with my six and a half year old MSI GTX980 Gaming 4gb right now. Heey do I miss the slowpoke RX 550 4gb in your list Bryan?
thats how i feel about my RX480 8g i got in 2016 at MSRP right before the fist Cripto boom
Rx 550 is for beginners of course it’s gonna be slow for anyone using a high end card
Finally a budget build thats what i want ;D
Power supply looks ...
Cant wait on the win 10 video
Try to look for a dell t3500 they are cheap and come with 525w power supply so you can add rx 570 and you can easily upgrade their cpu because they take cheap xeon cpus x5660(10$) x5670(15$) w3680(40$) which are dirt cheap and they have 6 core 12 threads.. [keep in mind their mobo screw are proprietary so you cant case swap them into a fancy case but still you can invest the money on better components]
If you can find a 1050 Ti for $100. I've seen them going for $200
The green motherboard is retro awesome.
Yay! green is the new black.
Love me some light Windows.
You are the reason I got into budget builds! I absolutely have a blast building and sourcing parts. Love the blue box! Cheers m8
Nice build, can't wait for the windows 10 custom install. Small hint for the looks, use some shrinkable tube isolation for the wires it will be neat
Holy crap mate, I can’t believe how much just making this build being visually pleasing made it more like a “I have to have”. Watching your videos after doing my own DIY build I see more of the aesthetics I could have made better on a budget. Good to see you can find these parts for builds.
This build is in the true spirit of yourself and the channel. Is there anyone in Brisbane with a e-waste yard that can hook you up with a truck full of Business machines?
That's the most powerful I/O shield I've ever seen - holy hell!!
- Nice video Yes Man! - great to see this stuff back on the channel
that soldering job was so crappy man, that's not the way you should do it... just better off buying a sata to 2 sata spliter and a sata to molex.... or at least use thermocontractible tubes...
Thermocontractible... So heat shrink tubes?
@@wisdoom9153 hey the bigger the word better it is
Great build, great music during build as well... this is giving PC's a new lease of life and surprised it runs so well with GTA5. Superb mate, keep up the good work (UK)
I dig a good Haswell based price/performance build.
Those chips really hold up nicely.
I got a 1271v3 paired with a gtx 1650 right now that runs like a dream.
I built a gaming computer before the shit really hit the fan in the market. I got a lenovo M73 ( its also called the M93 ) but I got the mini tower version for 100$ with 12g of ddr3 and windows 10 on a 500g hd, and a i5 4590. then with my last 100$ I got a 500w psu and a rx 480 4g and a power adapter for the psu ( 24 to 14 pin ) and its a beut
Good price on that imagination, truly a Tech YES City deal!
Finally something I can afford!
I did the same thing with an old refurbished Lenovo. I swapped out the case, bumped up the RAM to 16GB (DDR3 1333), installed a Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB, installed a new LED CPU fan, and installed two SSDs (512GB Win 10 and 240GB Garuda Linux).
This is what will make 5.25-inch bays come back in style. Add a cigarette lighter, tape deck, drawer, card reader, display, Hell even a BTC stock ticker just to bring back more customize options. Eh, eh? hehehe. All the fans although it does look nice Tech yes. Is like being all balls and no shaft.
Perfect, I recognized the PSU, my old 2011 Gateway i3 2100 potato has the same PSU. I've thought about doing the transplant, so it's nice to see one done.
This was SO awesome! I tried modding my pc the same way and it worked so well! I also had access to lower priced parts, and the pc still works perfectly!😄
Mine i5 4590 coupled with gtx 1050ti
Price/performance.. this is the fire we all need! Love this point of vue in your content! 👨💻
That ssd casing had me cracked up lol
I like that wavy-curvy design keyboard
Used to do this all the time with old workstations! great price/performance!
You, Tech Yes Man, are the Robin Hood of PC-gaming!
The CPU CLEANER! I ALWAYS FORGET THAT PART!
2yrs ago I put an SSD and a GTX 1060 3Gb card in a HP Z220 that I got for$100 on ebay that has the 2nd fastest i5 for its generation, and it still does great for 1080p gaming.
Would have been cool if you could find a bracket to print on the 3D printer for the PSU!
Or hack up the old case, and make adapter out of it.
I love that the 1050ti was on the verge of death after the 30 series was released but because of the 30 series, it's had a resurgence.
Thanks for the video and hope you and yours stay safe will all the bad rain storms and flooding that's happening on the east coast of Australia.
I wish those cards were budget freindly in the US. I'm the king of steals and deals, but not latley. I bought a lot of PowerColor RX570s 4GB in 2019 for $129.99. Same card now is going for $400+ haha. Even 1050ti and 750ti are 3× to 4× more than usual. AliExpress still had a couple decent prices. Most sold out now.
Yeah I got an rx 480 for 130$ CAD 6 months ago, and now I've sold my 2 rx 470 gpus for 200$ CAD each, I had gotten them for 80$ each pre-covid, shit's crazy man
Great Vid. Had the same computer & decided to do the case swap. Turned out great. Couldn't have done it without the guidance from your vid. 👍
I got a Dell optiplex 9010 sff with an i7-3770, 1tb HDD and 8 gigs of ram for $155 AUD including postage, banger of a deal. Paired with a MSI GT 1030 and it's a great low budget gaming PC
i cant beleive that back in 2016 the go-to budget GPU was a 1050ti and in 2021, its right up there again it makes me feel lucky to have my 1660
Tanks for made this video It will serve as a guide to improve my Lenovo m93p
Yes. I need that windows 10 lite install video, sounds awesome to help move low ram setups.
four usd on ali express will also buy a sff power supply cover which will fill out the psu slot if you use a small form factor psu from a pre build. Used your tip on the v3 xeon to build a rig for 300 usd for a family member surprised only took 10 days for the parts to arrive from china. Thought i got hosed on the graphics card however a change of thermal paste and fresh driver install and its working just fine. 660 ti boost for 35 pounds about 50 usd.
I wish there would be a way to re-case a HP 8200 elite sff just like this one and give it another new life.. nice video!

That's how Mafia works
Good to see a budget built on this situation
yeah prices are over the roof i cant believe what im seeing trust me be happy if you find a gt 710 for under a 200$ xd
Yeah my cpu and gpu pair is i5 4590 and 1050ti
Rocking in most of the games recent AAA titles 60+ FPS and with custom setting 1080p a decent gaming performance valorant, war zone, apex legend, gta 5, nfs payback, rage2, battlefield 1, shadow of tomb raider
War zone occupies 100% cpu utility needs more hyper threads or higher clock speed I guess
Love the greg Salazar callout lol
Hey bro, for a bit of flare, you should check out those really cheap rgb ram heatsinks. I throw them in my budget resells all the time and it makes the pc look sooooo much better
Spot on video Bryan, just what is needed atm.
Please do that Windows 10 LITE video!
I love these machines for flips!!! I get em for $50 a pop when my buddy gets em in. I actually did a video modding one out, and it was prolly my best work in terms of mods, but they are so much better just popping them into regular sized cases. The only thing you need to do is buy the 24-14 ATX Power Supply Adapter, but they're like $8 bucks on Ebay.
Epic green PCB brings calm to my mind
So the Yes Man's last name starts with an F if the SCD Keys code is to be believed...Bryan Fantastico?
Probably just Bryan From Tech Yes City, cant tell though
wow another sweet build, Great man
looking forward for more content.
I love these builds
i did a similar thing, bought an ex business computer, inside a cooler master matx chasis, advertised as an i5 3470 with a 500gb hdd, was so stoked to find the hdd was actually an ssd , i only paid 100 nzd . i went on to replace the 4gb ram with 16gb 1600 ddr3, swapped the 3470 to a 3570k for the higher clock speed (b75 mobo so no overclock) swapped out the psu for a 450watt so i could power the rx 480 i put inside, went so well, til the 480 blew up, i went in to purchase a gtx 1070, still going hard
Beating the hell out of the I/O shield that slides to the side to remove it
Gotta love these builds..😁

i hope the Win10 lite tutorial comes out as soon as possible since i just finishing my first build. I know nobody asked but its budget xeon pc. Thanks Bryan for bringing the best of xeons to us.
I love OEM gaming rigs.
14:00 That PSU slot is just screaming for a blanking plate, a spare piece of cut steel to cover that gap, if at all possible
One observation I would make is the power supply might not live long as you have the fan trying to suck in air through a solid bit of side panel, that won't do it any favours in the long term. Making an adaptor plate using a bit of plastic, or scrap metal shouldn't be too difficult, and would make it look better as well.
looking forward to that windows lite video!
You just saved me a cooler with the temp sensor thing :)

Lenovo proprietary header sucks. Wish I had known about it before I did my re-casing. Great work!
Dude tech yes . That looks very clean man . Keep it up yo
I upgraded my i3-4340 to an E3 1271v3 ( equivalent to an i7 4790) and it’s made an amazing difference. I’m still stuck with a 1050 2GB, but I’m honestly surprised how much better my performance has been with this upgrade.
It's time to revisit this with a P330 SFF Lenovo into a mid tower case.
Wink Wink
This was so cool! Any original idea for covering the gap left out by the TFX PSU? I was wondering that it would be quite the dust trap otherwise.
You should explain the incompatibilities, e.g., between the Lenovo motherboard and the standard case, in more detail. THAT is essential information that would make viewers want to watch your videos more.
I got lucky finding a GTX 960 at work (I work at a E-Recycling Plant) and got it for free! Before then I've searched for months for a good deal on GPUs.
I have a lower end pc.I built her for just under 15k with a second hand 1070 ti.This same pc on the local market second hand goes for 20k+.People will buy it because you can't get new parts and people want to game now rather than wait 6-7months.
Btw i cleaned my thermal paste for the first time in 2 years after my pc was overheating.I got some cooler master paste with my cooler and man will i never just that shyt again. It had gaps in the paste. It's not incorrect installation as it was running below 40 in most case.It took me 10 min just to clean the paste of as it felt more like gell than paste.Got some good couger paste and she's running like a baws.
The combination you have here is great for all these Esport Games and yes its a great feeling to make something that looks so good for such a low price..I would have gone for the new power supply I have purchased a few of the connectors not just the 14 to 24 but a few of the other ones as well.. I just need to get some cases to convert them over lol.
youl know what, I like this build :) looks pretty great with the LEDs too!
Loved it. Especially the YES dubovers. Right back to the YES that we all know and love.
This build is just fantastic sir!
Did a i5 2500 build with an rx560. Love doing these and was amazing performance for the money.
the 4gb gtx 960 is in between a 1050 and 1050ti in performance, thats a better idea than a gtx 950 which is actually like 30% slower than a 960 and really even those power supplies arent made to run a pc like this. Its a matter of short time it goes out and destroys everything in the computer. If you can cough up an extra 40 dollars they have EVGA 600w1 power supplies on sale right now,it was 60 but its 20 dollars off making them 40 USD atm.
Was able to sell my old 4690k and exchange it for a xeon e3 1240v3. Runs better with extra threads despite the lower frequency and made 10 bucks. Gave it to my friend who needed an upgrade
A gaming PC that you are not ashamed to show off for less than $500....I'd be proud too! It looks great and has decent performance. You could probably upgrade to 16 GB ram for another $50. For another $50 you could get a 450 watt or better PSU and be ready for a GPU upgrade in the future and still be less than $750.
Great job!! It looks legit with that case and fans!!
