Hi from down under in Australia . Found your vid whilst looking for reviews as about to buy one . Luv the way ya set it up. Going to look to see what other vids ya done . Awesome job . Cheers Grant
Some super sweet additions! I really like that backup camera! That's a great idea! The RMAX is such a great machine! My buddy just got a 2022 XT-R, picked it up today! They are selling like hotcakes!
The xtr is selling like hot cakes? Or just them in general? I sure wish Yamaha would add another 40 horse, this would be the ultimate do it all machine
New subscriber!!! Man you've got a super nice set up!! Definitely gonna keep some of your mods in mind. I've owned ATVs all my life, and my wife grew up writing ATVs as well, but when Yamaha first release the Air Max they had a demo of it at windrock, so we went up there and demoed it. Then last week we went to windrock and rented the Rmaxx and wrote it for the day. Let's just say that it's on the agenda to get our own one day, and I want to do a lot of the same things you have done, and set it up ready for anything. Thanks for the content! Also, I want to make it street legal so we can ride it around town since NC passed the new law, really excited about that!
Nice machine man. I’m down here by topsail if you’d ever wanna ride sometime. I’d love to meet up somewhere. We are new to this area. Grew up in the hills of Ohio, trails forever.
Nice! Lots of functional upgrades. I added the Mudbuster door pockets and fire wall splash guards. Door pockets are great to put gloves etc. since middle consol isn't very deep. Fans are nice option, I have two of the Ryobi 4" fans I clamp to the roll bar seem to help. Keep up the great videos.
I did the firewall guards too. Just forgot to mention it. Did the JBS mud guards as well. I’ll have to check out those door pockets. Good, convenient storage is nice! Thanks for watching!
Great video and upgrades. I have the 2022 Rmax 1000 XTR and have added quite a few things. I'm on Down To Fabricates website but can't find the rack you have. I'll keep looking.
Very well done...can you give your opinion on the reliability so far, also suspension comfort and cabin noise levels, in comparison to other rigs you have tried?? Thanks!!
Zero issues with reliability and I have followed the service manual recommendations. Suspension comfort is excellent. Three click Fox shocks are easy to use. I only find this machine to be abnormally loud in the cab when I have the enclosure closed.
You should get that thing up on race car scales and figure where all you weight is. You might need to up your spring rates to accommodate all those extras especially that tire, you looked a little short of upward travel on those rear shocks.
I've made a number of adjustments since the video was taken, including bandit tender springs. Also, I don't carry the spare. I didn't like the weight on the back of the machine. I think I only did one or two trips with it.
The fans and shroud or box they are setting in? Where are they pulling air from for cooling? Obviously is not a evaporator, is there vents in the roof?
Great setup, I do have a question about your spare tire carrier, does it fold down or swing away so you can open your tailgate, also your comment about it didnt sound like you really cared for it, what is the pros and cons, TIA for any information you can provide?
I took it off. Didn’t want the extra weight on a regular basis. If I’m doing a multi day overlanding ride, I’ll probably put it back on. Otherwise, the supplies I have for addressing tire/wheel issues. Will do. The mount does not move or swivel.
You forgot to talk about your over fender guards that’s the main think I was wanting to know about. I have seen they make three different sizes each one covers a little more than the other one and looks like you have the least coverage set. Are you happy with them or do you think it would be better to get the next bigger size that has a little more coverage?
I bought mine a year ago from JBS Powersports in WV. They were the only ones available at that time. I’m completely happy with them. They do a good job.
We aren’t required to have street legal tires in North Carolina. But I am running a DOT right to tire. They are 32” Tusk Aramid Terrabites. I have upgraded to them since this video.
No clue, but it’s legal in NC. As far as I know, it’s honored anywhere there’s reciprocity. I know some folks are plating theirs in SD and Montana, even though they don’t have residence there. Do your homework on that one. I think some states are catching on to that.
I bought my 22 rmax LE back in May and I keep finding myself going back to this video for ideas. Any big updates since this video? Love the rack and fan setup
Two straps. One on each side. I pull each strap behind the seat and hook it into one of the little holes on the roll bar behind the seatbelt. Then tighten it down
You’ll need to contact them for pricing. It’s been a while since I bought, with inflation and material shortages, I don’t know what they charge currently. Website: downtofabricate.com/
Ya the upper doors on the yamaha arent the greatest. I dont get why they cant make a frame ! Also the yamaha is pretty loud inside! Comapred to the general that is.
That’s a sweet ride. Now come do mine. I think my favorite add on are the fans in the cab.
thats gotta be one of the best setups ive seen.

I demoed mine at Windrock, too. One hour in this thing at Windrock and I was a believer. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks Ronnie
Thanks for your video of your RMAX mods. Have you looked into an upgrade on the seat fabric?
No. I’ve been perfectly happy with my seats.

What size shelf did you order? The 8", 10", or 12"?
The fans and shroud or box they are setting in? Where are they pulling air from for cooling? Obviously is not a evaporator, is there vents in the roof?
Just ambient air. The fans are in a shroud. Check Tyndall’s Custom Fabrication in Clinton, NC for more info.

Where are you located? I’m in Raleigh, let’s ride!! I go to Hatfield several times a year.
I live in Lee County. Follow my Facebook page and join us for the WV Yamaha Invasion I put on each year. Next one is October 2024.
Nice ride. What part of NC are you in? I’m just west of Charlotte. Go heels!

@@TarheelTrailblazer they have a set now that comes all the way down I may get those. Thx
Who makes that chainsaw mount?
Kolpin. I had to remove it though. I kept hitting it on trees, etc. The final hit to a tree totally warped it.

Nice street legal rig! What DOT tires are you running? Like them?

@@TarheelTrailblazer ok I’ve been looking at those. Thank you!

The rack is too pricy though as is the Yamaha rack.
But it is a cool rack.
What is the cost of rack?
What bag is that you have between your seats? I have been looking for a good one.

That is a killer rig man! looking at buying an rmax xtr myself. Is your kit 50 state legal? just curious if I can do the same here in CT. 🤙

Looks like Montana is going to be my best bet. I'll post a video when the time comes. I'm sure I'll get pulled over regularly😂

Any Idea what that rack weighs?
No. You can contact the folks at “Down to Fabricate” in East TN to ask them. They’re on Facebook.
How'd you get the bag tight between the seats, have the same one, but just cant seem to tighten it down.
Two straps. One on each side. I pull each strap behind the seat and hook it into one of the little holes on the roll bar behind the seatbelt. Then tighten it down
