    Our journey today begins outside of Heathrow's Terminal 2 (The Queens Terminal). We enter the terminal and head through security, before making our way to our gate. We watch our aircraft land on runway 27L, before making our way to a bus to board our ride which is on a remote stand.
    After a bus journey across Heathrow we board via steps, taking our seat in row 6. We soon get our clearance and pushback before taxying to runway 27R for takeoff - our tiny aircraft overshadowed by the giants of Heathrow! We depart to the west, making a right turn and making our way towards the Midlands on a beautiful clear morning. We fly over Nottingham, Mansfield and Sherwood Forest, before heading towards South Yorkshire. The great views continue as we make our way further north, coasting out over the North Sea near to Newcastle. We then remain over the sea before commencing a straight in approach to runway 34 at Aberdeen, making an arrival on schedule just over 80 minutes after takeoff.
    We disembark and make our way into the terminal to wait for our connecting flight.

      Hi Lawrie, thank you for the service on the flight! So sorry for what happened to Flybe you guys were an unsung hero in most of my videos, most of my positioning flights were with Flybe from BHX or MAN. Best of luck for the future!

    First time I've seen inside the new Terminal 2 at Heathrow, it's so light and airy and spacious compared to the old one. Old terminal 2 was so dark and dingy and cramped you could hardly find your way through it.
    Congrats to the design team and architects involved. All the terminals are looking smart at Heathrow now - finally!

    Thumbs up! 👍 Another Dash 8 video in the purple livery.
    London-Heathrow is a VERY busy airport. Planes takeoff and land every minute! But, sometimes flight connections is a problem. Almost every time I track a flight into the airport, it always does holding patterns to get a spot to land.
    So, the flight gets a delayed landing. And then, I guess it takes like 15-20 min + security/immigration/U.S Pre-clearance. And this happened 2 times already, but I booked a flight 15 MINUTES prior to departure when I'm connecting. I end up missing the flight and doing some other flight tracking changes.
    That's why there will be a 3rd runway and possibly a new terminal also to LHR, if you haven't heard about it. And a 2nd runway to London-Gatwick.

    • @noelphilips
      @noelphilips  6 лет назад +1

      LHR is crazy busy, it's important not to get a tight connection particularly when you have to connect between terminals. T5 to T5 or T2 to T2 for example is usually easy, but good luck doing a T2-T5 or a T4-T2 connection!

    That's a nice size prop plane I was on a smaller one I flew to Miami on a jet from Philly USA and then I got on a small plane that held 20 or 25 people no carry on everything went underneath and I thought the ride was kind of smooth and everything gets handed to you when you get off the plane unless you need it taken cuz it's too heavy or too much inside the airport for me that's what I did didn't have carry on this looks like it's going to be a cool flight. Well done - but.... sitting on the right on a morning flight in May while heading due north, meant the whole flight was filmed with a savage glare (and focus) on the window streaks! Equally, focusing on the engine during taxi/takeoff put all the background out of focus.. Love the map overlay and concept though.

    • @ddw9415
      @ddw9415 6 лет назад +1

      Not sure where I got May from - probably from the non-autumnal weather in t'north. Clearly same applies year round!

      Haha, yep I agree but I sat that side as I was hoping to get a view of my house in Nottinghamshire and I wasn't disappointed :) . It was a toss up between seeing my house and better colours and I opted to see my own house for a change :D
