My Italian Grandfather made wine every year. Before he passed away he gave his last gallon to my husband. I love the Amalfi Coast, thank you Nicki and Carlo for sharing a slice of your beautiful life. Loved the puppy and sweet Holly too!

Nicki, I love how much you love dogs. Holly is getting older, and if you plan on having another dog after her, you should consider getting a puppy for her to train while she is still young and active. She will teach the puppy to act like her, so you will keep a piece of her after she is gone. I don't want to be morbid thinking about the end of Holly, and I hope it's a long time away still. Just my thoughts because you obviously are a dog person! Carlo, it's lovely seeing your family's traditions. Please let us know how the wine turns out at Christmastime!

I adore the people of Positano. I truly enjoyed hearing Zio talk and show us how he makes his wine. Nicki, you’re truly living a dream… playing with puppies and watching Zio make wine just in time for the new year. Truly a lovely vlog. Also the sound was good, wasn’t bad at all❤️

Well that was fun, we really got around in this episode: Ravello, Meta (I think?), Conca dei Marini & of course Positano/Montepertuso.
And how cool is it that everybody in Carlo's extended family seems to specialize in making something different (wine, tomato sauce etc). It's like having a private family grocery store at your disposal!

I always start out determined not to cry at the beauty of the scenery; usually fail, I lasted 2 mins 19 secs this time lol. It was good to see the old proper way of making the wine, I loved that. There are so many interesting wee bits to see and watch as you are filming the main thing, too. Thanks both for another lovely film x

Good afternoon, it's nice to see everything slowed down in the Positano diaries. You could take a breath and just enjoy the time that you have doing what you enjoy doing. Touring with your British buddies, visiting Carlo's uncle, playing with his puppy, organizing your makeup artistry & planning for your Christmas in Britain with Holly & in your new vehicle. Certainly a longer trip but a lot less stress with no airport scene. I wonder how many jars and varieties of jam your dad's made recently. I'm just taking a break and waiting for my whole wheat bread recipe to rise. I enjoyed the vlog.I'm thrilled that Antonio has been found and is safe! A Christmas to celebrate... We had our first dusting of snow two mornings ago. So far it's been a very good fall. Very limited cold. Christmas will be here in short time. & Then truly a new chapter begins...

Real life, real people doing what real people do with the simple luck of living in one of the beautiful places on earth (even w/those damn 500 steps) ;-)
Family, food, friends and time to enjoy the fruits of our labors... which is basically what all of us humans need to live a positive, bountiful life.

Another wonderful relaxing Sunday escape. When he was talking about the preservatives others add to their wines, this is exactly why I love French and Italian wines when I visit. I am highly allergic to Sulfa and found out a few years ago that it is the sulfates that are added to most wines that give me terrible headaches if I drink more than one glass. I never have this problem with French and Italian wines because they are not added to most of the wines either by tradition or government regulation.

You and Carlo love showing off your part of the Amalfi Coast to first time visiting friends. Come Jan 1, the Drone King will be with you on your tours. As for the home brew wine making, that was a blast! Btw, the audio was fine. I know my dog ate my homework but my dog ate my earring???
Just a little history about what, in the UK and the Us was Armistice Day, now in England Remembrance Day/Poppy Day/ In Flanders Fields the poppies grow..." and in the US Veterans Day. All originally celebrate the signing of the WWI Armistice on November 11th at 11 am.
This is also the Feast Day of St. Martin of Tours, he was not French. He was the son of a Roman Tribune and born in A.D. 316 at the foot of the hill atop which is the famous Archabbey of Pannonhalma in the state of Pannonia Hungary. So he was a Roman-Hungarian. I have stayed for several days at this monastary. He is best known for the legend, which states that while he was in France, in the army, on a cold winter's night on horse riding back to Amiens, he met a begger dressed in rags shivering. He cut his cloak in half and gave to him. In a vision that night, he sees Jesus saying to the angels, "Martin, who is still but a catechumen, clothed me with his robe." He became a conscientious objector, left the army, became a monk and eventually a Bishop. Later those priest who cared for the remainder of the cloak were called "cappellanu," from which we get the military rank and word chapllain, and the small churches dedicated to St Martin were called, "capella," meaning little cloak, from which get the word chapel.
How approriate it is the St. Martin is the patron Saint of the Cavalry and all soldiers.
Many years ago, in the Catholic Church, St. Martins Lent a period of 40 days of penance, starting on 11th November, leading up to Christmas, now shortened and renamed Advent. My guess is, that the grape juice had to become wine by St. Martin's Feast Day, as there would no wine drunk till Christmas Day.
Niki and Carlo you perhaps didn't realize how such an ordinary and delightful video could include all sorts of other stuff.
Drink no wine before it's time!

Love watching the wine making process. Do the younger family members help so they can continue the tradition? Glad the puppy didn’t swallow your earring Nicki! 🤗

See Nicki I told you about having another dog! HaHa What a superlative and sublime presentation, absolutely loved the Carlo/Zio portion. When I was stationed in Vicenza my parents came to visit and I bought a demijohn from the local vineyard and at the local hardware store corks, hand corker, empty bottles and a siphon hose.....by the time my father and I were finished siphoning wine we were quite inebriated. I still remember it and that was circa 1975.

Finally a break to watch. Nice to have visitors from England. And you and Carlo can go back to spend holidays with your Dad and family. Carlo's uncle is a hard working man. Keeping the traditions alive. Who will take over to do this?? He needs an apprentice.
LBK is too cute. Wants to walk too. Holly happy to have puppy to play with. Sorry about earring.
Say hello to Skye and Nicola. Stay safe.

You should do another video devoted just to Holly starting with telling those don’t know how Holly, a street dog, adopted you! Some nice Italian music and all the backdrops with Holly! A real star!
