I watch a RUclipsr Marina, her channel is Fearfully Creative, she and her husband Shane are in the process of remodeling the double wide home they bought last year, they are super sweet Christian family raising 4 children. She has a lot of great ideas on remodeling.

Just my 2 cents as someone who rented and didn’t buy first home till age 50: (with landlord permission) we painted, landscaped, built closet shelves etc in the various houses we rented . Never spent a lot, but it made the home feel more homey and comfortable for us and we could feel more pride in where we were living , so to me it was worth it. And I feel it gave us practice for projects for when we eventually bought a house. And if it left the house nicer for the next tenant, I’m glad we could bless them in that way… and they then would probably keep it nicer … to the landlords advantage…so I always saw it as a win-win for all involved. I say do the projects that will make you really love where you’re living… and if it provides content .. and/or you decide to buy… all the better! ❤️
I think you should keep the table but put a rug under it. That will make it more grounded and less lime it's just in the middle of the room

I like the idea of painting the island the Oyster Bay color. That would tie in the color of your condole table and the barn doors as you mentioned. Knowing that the homeowners are okay with your updates, means I can stop worrying about it.😊 Making your residence a home is a good thing. You and your husband know what you can afford to do and that’s what matters.😊

Courtney, I would put a large rug under the table to ground the space and move your furniture on the rug, at least a bit; this defines each area and will help with the open concept.

I have my lazy boy next to my sofa with an end table, just what you were talking about. You're right about changing things and how it's money coming back to you, and some of the things you change you can take with you if you move, like the light fixture you hung in your laundry room.

You can actually get lights that screw into where the can lights are...like 2 pendent lights...if there are 2 above the table try that...also put a larger arrangement in the center of the table and put a chair on each end of the table...that should help so it doesn't look like it's just there.....hope that helps!!

It was so good to see you so happy and smiling. I love the way your little girl wants to help y’all, they are both precious. I spent the day yesterday with my great granddaughter because of all of the hurricane warnings, she kept me from being a nervous wreck, she is one and a bundle of energy.

I love your idea for the island. A tip I found online for refreshing wood cabinets is to mix equal parts apple cider vinegar and olive oil (it doesnt take much) and rub the mixture into the wood with soft cloth. It helps blend scratches into the regular finish of the piece as well gives the wood a refresh. Everytime I use it I am amazed.

The meal looks delicious! You can never go wrong with homemade gravy!
Maybe you can use the rug under your table and get a bigger one for loving room.If you get a different coffee table you can use the other one as an end table .I think if you stay there definitely paint the island the color of your table and paint the chairs black.You just need some dark color over in the dining room to match the living room and kitchen to make it all flow.Yes Christmas tree in the window would look so good!❤
Courtney! I love how the girls follow you around, its just adorable. You can tell they want to be just like their mama! I know it can be alot lol I know how it is when my kiddos get under my feet lol, but you will look back and miss this time, I am glad you will have these videos to look back on.

For the table, I agree to put a rug underneath it, but I would also add something tall in the center of the table. We have a kitchen table set right next to our bar that has bar stool chairs. We don’t hardly ever sit at the bar as a family, but they are really handy when we have people over.

Another great video sweetheart especially sweet when your daughter went to get her stroller using it like it was a vacuum . ❤❤❤ If you decide to stay I agree as well painting the island and a lighter backsplash. Yes you and your husband needs to do what’s best,but we bought a home I bathroom and 3 bedrooms our kids were little at the time it was very difficult,can it be done yes,but if you plan on buying one day will need to possibly add another bathroom,for as your girls will want more privacy once they become teens. I know so many variables. Ask Jesus for guidance and everything will into place. You are a sweetheart and don’t let negativity get you down. You are making your house a home❤. Blessings

Love seeing this house come together for you all. You have so many great ideas. I think painting the island & lightening up the kitchen is a great idea. I also thought maybe a larger rug in the living room might tie it all together a little better but you are a much better decorator than I am. You little girl helping you "vacuum" with the shopping cart priceless. Hope you get your internet issues resolved. You have become one of my favorite RUclipsrs!

Hey Queen love all the touches making the house feel like home. Should you decide to stay you can get a flat extension cord that has the box with the 3 prong and run the cord under your rug i suggest taping it to the underside of the rug then you can have the bigger couch facing the tv. Great job on house ❤❤

@HomeSweepHome your welcome Queen love seeing you excited about your home. Listen, even when I used to rent, I did what I wanted to the place. I don't look at it as throwing away money. Tomorrow is never promised, and where you lay your head should be special regardless, so do what makes you happy!
Courtney keep your table just add an area rug and inthe future change the chairs to make it your formal dining room area. So, you get to divide the areas with rugs❤❤❤❤

Hi, the table is perfect right there & the table has dark brown wood color in it like your kitchen cabinets. Maybe 2- 3 bar stools around the island. I also like the recliner in the new spot you moved it to.

Hello All! Your daughters are just the cutest and sweetest. They just want to be right there with their Momma. I know you have filmed this before but I like your dining room table where you have put it. It defines the space as the dining room. Maybe you are just not used to it yet. When I used to rent, my landlord used to give me money or take money off my rent when I did improvements to the apartment that I was living in. Maybe that is something your landlords may do for you all. If you are not sure about moving maybe that is a sign to stay where you are now. If it was some where you knew in your heart was the right
move you wouldn't necessarily be so unsure what to do. I know when I am unsure about something, I pray about it and take my time about it. Maybe it didn't become available until you were already moved into your new home, is because it wasn't meant to be and not the right timing. They say it is all about timing and not to force it. Hey hey! I think your table is fine were it’s at! How about adding a rug under it…to “ground” it or paint it a darker color to flow with your dark cabinets and furniture….or paint your cabinets, which I know you have mentioned doing that. I Enjoy your videos and your little family!❤

For some reason I didn’t think those barn doors would fit your bathroom and was wondering why I always saw them open lol. I am so curious to find out if you have visited the brick house inside. Would love to see it and hope you give us a tour so we can give you better advice. Either way, I adore your little family and will always watch because your voices and faces bring me joy!
Please don't get rid of the table! It is beautiful and a great place for family night dinners with a light fixture and rug. Get bar stools for the girls for breakfast and lunch. Also, maybe a bench under those pretty windows with pillows. You have so much great space! The girls are precious so is moonpie!

Omg the way your sweet girls follow you around, so cute! My boys used to do that when my husband mowed the lawn with their little bubble lawn mowers. They are precious. I know as a mommy it can seem like you never get a moment to yourself but from one mom to another it’s true when they say you’re gonna miss this. 🩷

I think the table looks fine there. You need something under the table. Like one of those vinyl rugs that is easier to clean, since little kids tend to drop everything when eating.

Good morning Courtney! You got after that cleaning. I think you would like the bar and the barn doors the same color or maybe paint the bar and table the same color to make it cohesive. I love DIY and the feeling my home gives me. Whatever you do to that home it’s an investment because you create content and that’s an investment. Okay you just said that in the video, I’m still watching 😂 you are correct makeovers make you money so it supports your family. Also renter friendly makeovers should do good for you as well. Hey Courtney!! Loved seeing you so happy. I'm praying for ya'll and the tough decisions coming at you. I agree with everybody else about moving the couch in front of the tv. Put a rug under the table and a bigger rug in the living room. They have some at walmart that are the softest thing you ever felt. They are better homes and garden rugs. It's like Persian faux fur (I think). But OMG beautiful and so soft. Check your Wal-Mart. Just play around with the furniture a few times and you will find the perfect placement. I would use your round table as the end table and either build or buy a larger coffee table. Keep the dining room table and put a large rug under it. It will need to be bigger than a 5 x 7. I use Murphy's Oil soap to clean wood cabinets and furniture. Be sure to use a dry cloth to dry them.

Maybe get some furniture crayons and touch up the imperfections on the cabinets. And clean them with murphys oil soap will make them look alot better.

No matter what you and Kyle decide, I know you will consider every pro and con for both places. Decisions like this are never easy but in the end, somehow it always comes together and works out. No matter where you and your family land it will be home because home is not four walls and a roof it's the love of the family in it, be it a double-wide a brick house or a teepee ;-) I think Sookie talking to the camera was too dang cute, I think if you have any viewers in China they understood her message ;-)

I like the idea of painting island oyster bay & maybe put a peel n stick marble (brown/beige) counter top. I also think if you paint you dining chairs oyster bay, you will like it better. The contrast of brown & white from kit-livingroom is what throws off your dining area for you.
