Actually, it would have been better to leave the little saloon doors off, cats don’t like having their whiskers squished to their face when going through passageways. Why it’s always better to have wide, low food and water bowls instead of curved, high ones.
Naming names... I watch the Sorry Girls, Lone Fox, XO Macenna, whom i love, yet nobody warms my heart like Alexandra and the AG team. I love that the focus is sharing and spreading the love and pouring so much healing into all the lives you touch. Beautiful, it fills me up. Thank you.

I think so many individual elements of this design are absolutely gorgeous, but I’m struggling with the overall cohesiveness of the space - the backsplash and floor clash too much for me. But you’ve elevated the space so so much and the island is just stunning. Well done!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way about the backsplash and flooring! Love the island and the kitty door on the louvered doors to the closet though!

yeah. I love a lot of things in the design, but the black floor, white walls, soft pink fake tiles plus two different colors of green and the warm wood in the middle were a liiiittle bit too much for me.
I agree. Love the pattern and concepts but green to pinky colors to black floors just feels a little off.

The phrase "cat saloon doors" is not one that I ever would have anticipated hearing, but I'm so glad I did!

Almost every episode she shows different items, colours, wallpapers and I think “oh, not my style” and without fail at the end of the episode I’m like.. “OMG I LOVE it all!!!” 😂 “your a wizard, Harry”

Fantastic job. Love all the attention to detail. The island is gorgeous. Only suggestion is to change the hinges on the fridge so they open from the right. Easier access while working in the kitchen and easy fix. Love it.
As someone who cooks a lot, I am so happy to see there was no table lamp in this kitchen! Every time you put a table lamp on the counter I cringe, as no matter how large you kitchen is, open counter space is always at a premium when you use your kitchen a lot, not to mention how often it would need to be cleaned. I love the colors, the floor, the island, all the things. I think this is my favorite kitchen make over of yours for sure.
Absolutely love this channel and watching the team continuously elevate their work in each makeover they tackle. That being said, it really would be nice to see some more diversity when it comes to style. Alexandra has a beautiful and strong sense of personal style, which is great, but it would be great to see the team dabble in less feminine aesthetics every once and a while. Even choosing someone other than a 20-something woman to makeover would be refreshing. When Alexandra talks about doing something outside the team's comfort zone, it's often about a non-pink color palette, not really diving into a new style. Either way, huge fan and will continue watching regardless!

I wonder how much the style is influenced by the folks who apply for makeovers. People who really love Alexandra's style are less likely to ask for things that are really different. It seems to me that makeovers with roommates and partners tend to have more requests for something different.
She has done some male rooms, also in her "make my space work'' series and if you watch some of her old videos.
I think many designers have signature styles when it comes to their interior design. Much like an artist has a signature style. And people who want that style will hire accordingly. She’s done diff styles before, but when she does, it still feels like an AG look, which I think is really cool. And it’s the same with other RUclips designers I watch, but for some reason, I only see Alexandria getting comments like these and I really don’t get it lol
There is something very satisfying about watching you two lay down the peel-and-stick floor panel squares.
It would have been nice to be able to change the refrigerator door handles to the opposite side to have them open “into” the kitchen. Beautiful redo.

One functional improvement will be to change the refrigerator hinge to open the other way. This is not a difficult task and would make the cook’s life easier. Another great remake.. Keep ‘em coming, please!

Your sense of colour and style is so good. People underestimate how hard it is to find the right shade, how to link rooms with colour without making it look matchy matchy, and having the vision to trust those wall tiles go with that floor tile. It takes research, lots of time, and bags of confidence. I especially admire how you worked with the bench tops (which you did in your previous kitchen makeover too). Just beautiful, quality work! It's a joy 🌸

I live in Pennsylvania, am a 55 yr old mother of three children in their mid twenties....I have one that just turned thirty. All that to say ... I watch and do a lot of thrifty and remaking various items. Gingerchickrehab, unicorndustdesigns, Kelly Barlow creations, and many more channels being my normal. Then your channel appeared. I live in large 100+ farm house, but I just enjoy watching your channel!!! Such innovative ideas and creativity!! Keep Graham on team no matter what!! He is a gem!! I guess I just wanted you all to know, you have a bigger demographic than you might have thought. Keep up all the good work! Rock On!!!!
Switching the fridge doors to open from right to left would have been great, but as usual an amazingly stylish makeover.
Never in my life have i come to a channel to grab an episode update directly, instead of just waiting for it to come up on my watch later list in a week or so.

I agree - Graeme/Graham is amazing!!! His thrift skills are superb. Makeover is gorgeous but I hope she doesn't miss her ceiling fan. Paint colours are so nice and warm instead of everything grey as the trend seems to be. Cane over the rads are absolutely charming.

I love the shutter doors and the handles AND that saloon door for the cat is too CUTE and so clever!! Those legs on that table are magnificent - love the way the table came out. The light fixture is adorable and the brackets for the shelves are so cute and vintage. I really like the handles on the brass pulls. Thanks for the tip on fingernail polish to hide the silver screws. Good job!

Agree. I see this on many videos. I think people don't realize they can order fridges with the option to switch door handles. Also, many fridge doors can be switched yourself.
@@rickgonzalez1218 i'm pretty sure ive seen them do this in previous makeovers but also it could just be that the fridge didn't have the option to (our freezer doesn't and it annoys me brecause it would work better opening the other way) and that a whole new fridge wasn't able to fit in the budget
When I bought my fridge last December I’m sure I opted for the door direction change over to be done during installation (because lets face it, there’s not much “installation” involved with just delivering a fridge and putting it in a place otherwise!) but on the day the delivery people said that wasn’t a service they provided and that was that! This has reminded me that I had planned to complain to the company and at least get the installation fee refunded, but I forgot until now, because ADHD 🙃 It is at least possible for my fridge door direction to change, but I haven’t done it myself because it looks waaaaay more convoluted and annoying than I would have expected! But the current direction is SUPER annoying, so I really need to get like, a Taskrabbit person or something to come and just take care of it for me, and remove that bit of awkward frustration I get MULTIPLE times a day whenever I open the fridge!
…I’d better set myself a reminder to actually DO it and not be here a year from now still struggling with the damn fridge 😂
@@EmmaVB82 You can do it! I switched my fridge doors. It's one of the simplest DIYs. I only made it complicated because I decided to deep clean the door before hanging it back on. But you don't have to be like me!

design is so great and I can see how much work you guys put in, but almost in every video there is small details that do not line up or its just missing 5min of work to fix it, like paint bleed on the counter of the side table to the wall, just needed a quick scrape with a knife, or those kitchen knobs that do not line up completely, as well as the crooked knob on the swinging door on the left. Makes this whole amazing design a ocd moments for people like me who cant see anything else after seeing that:D
This is AMAZING!!! I think it is your most amazing change ever. I LOVE the floor!!! Want! I didn't think that backsplash was gonna work with that floor, but then you brought the cabinet doors back and WOW! It works SO well. I love that art too! And shout out to Graham for those doors! Not a criticism, but could you have covered the stainless fridge with a peel and stick (a linen look of sorts in white or green or some combo of colours you used AND reversed the fridge and freezer doors so they are more efficient and would look 'less backward'. So happy you also tiled under fridge and stove!!!

Great job, especially the island, cat doors, rad cover and light. Love green cabinets. I would reinstall the door blind for nighttime privacy. And next time add some kind of filler under the tile in the gap in front of the door. I can't wait for the reveal. On my birthday 🎉!! This kitchen is freakin' AMAZING. I have seen every one of your makeovers and this is the one I love the best! I especially love how you and your team approach this and every makeover as though it is your own space, with care, attention to detail and intent to produce something beautiful, workable and lasting.
There's just one thing I have to know... did Olive use the door? It's gorgeous and took so much work to make. Any cat I know won't like anything people spend a lot of time and/or money on!

The things that seem small, like shaving down the door and installing a new fan over the stove, have the potential to make each day run 1% smoother in this kitchen and that can really add up over time!!
This turned out so well! Really love the island and the cat door! My ONLY issue is not adding under cabinet lighting - I live in a NE US city and it gets dark so early! I could barely see when I was working on my counters with only an overhead light, groping around with a knife all winter :-P the difference after I added some little ikea lights under the cabinets has been HUGE!
The kitchen to no surprise came out amazing. The island, the ceiling light and the radiator cabinet were my faves.

Such an improvement! The table is still a little orange and maybe the door would have benefited with a coat of paint. Pink to match the backsplash? Loved the table legs you chose. And kudos to Graham for fitting those louvre doors so well.

21:41 I saw someone put poster board under their peel and stick to protect the dry way and I thought that was a pretty cool affordable option, they just attached it to the walls with command strips/poster taps

I can’t say enough good things about this kitchen! It’s SO beautiful…I would def love to cook in it! Just imagine how much she will love it, AND she has fully functional cabinets! I adore the contrasting greens. Now, the real show stopper is Graham’s rolling island. The legs and finish make it a real work of art. Graham is so immensely talented and cute. 4:13 OMG lol, I ordered that exact same floor for my hallway space to my garage in a 12x12 from Amazon 3 weeks ago and am painting the walls a sage green. Lol. I guess I am channeling my Alexandra & team AG design abilities.

Fantastic job, the only thing that kept it from being perfect was that countertop. I love your style. It needed a marble or epoxy marble-style countertop. The table was amazingly built.
Love all your videos. Fyi here is a tip I discovered doing my own decorating over 30+ years in my small home. I discovered that I love a flat sheen for old walls. It hides flaws and the imperfections of old gypsum and lathe walls while adding a nice, cozy, velvety feel in the evening light. However, I did not like how it absorbed stains and dirt. I found that a base coat of a good satin paint under two coats of flat paint was miraculous! - you're welcome lol
Wonderful job! The flooring and the island are my favorites. Question: Do refrigerators not come with the ability to swap which side the door opens from anymore? I've done it several times. Nothing worse than your frig door opening opposite from the way you need it to.
Yes, they do and I am surprised that the handles aren't switched in so many kitchens.

two things to elevate the space that would be easy and we're overlooked. One flip the direction that the fridge opens and to get a little of light colored old English and clean up the scratches on that wood door.
When looking at the wonderful Reno you did you missed on thing I always look for…..the refrigerator doors need to be changed to open on the other side. It is easy to do and makes working in the kitchen so much easier
So when she moves out, will she hire someone to repaint everything? This says renter friendly and as a renter I had no idea you could paint anything but the walls normally.
Depends on your landlord and the property rules.
Most of the time landlords require you to put a primer on before you move out so that when they repaint it doesn’t require as many coats.
One small thing, I would prefer to turn the refrigerator doors, more practical when cooking. I know it's hard and heavy. So nice by the way. I also wish for a makeover like that. What a team you are.💕💕

I love all the rooms you do and I know this one will be beautiful as well. But, I'm curious....is there a rule that you ONLY decorate with PINK and GREEN? It seems that EVERY makeover is always the same colors.
The rule is to follow whatever inspo the makeover recipient submits!

@elifatalay7017 this make over recipient literally said they really liked green AND loved Dakota Johnson's Kitchen which has green cabinets. It is possible people just want what is trendy. There have been other colors used in the other makeovers.😂
Green is the color of the heart Chakra and of course, pink is also associated with love so it does make sense. Plus, I've seen many British kitchens painted this lovely sage green - it's quite soothing. ❤️

Switch the refrigerator doors
Not a criticism, just curious how painting cabinets is renter friendly? Do you get approval from the landlord or do tenants repaint them when they move out?
She has said in past videos that they always get approval from the landlord. My daughter and her friends moved into an old rental in Boston and the landlord let them put down good quality peel and stick flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms as well as paint. They showed him what they chose and he was actually happy they did the work! 💖

Blown away as always by the team and your creativity. Thinking maybe for rentals you could possibly look into fridge wraps? Everything else was so nice I felt the fridge was almost jarring in the space
I absolutely hate all the elements together. But I love the hard work and elements on their own. I think it’s the backsplash that inspires rage. But that island is stunning and so are the cabinets and I love the floor tiles. Great job just not my taste but it’s looks good for what you’re going for!
