Hello elainecheer13, I don't know ? Mont Marte air dry Clay has special fibrous additives that reinforce the product so it is stronger when it is thin, this also makes it less inclined to crack when it is drying. peace JMont Marte Joe
So many mindless posts. This was a tv program that was for a younger audience. I’ll bet this program was inspiring to many a young audience. Thank you Monte and producers for all you have done and continue to do through the internet.
Hi Love Kiss, thank you, I don't really give it much thought, alot of people say the Aussie accent is a bit rough but thank you. Keep on creating art. Mont Marte Joe.
Hi citychickgirl, Mont Marte Modeling clay comes in two colors White and Terracotta. It is supplied in 500 g blocks as well as 2 kg Blocks. Peace and keep on creating.
Hi bboybelieber, this is a traditional piggybank but the piggy can be created with an opening and then plugged up with a cork otherwise piggy must pay the ultimate immolate and be broken. You then make another piggy. Believe it or not this was the reason why piggybanks had no opening, if the money could be removed, one would not be saving. When your piggybank was full you would have to sacrifice your beautiful piggy :) Mont marte Joe
Hi BlazinRedxDragon, I don't see why you could,nt use the pinch pot technique, it is a little harder to create compound curves thats all. Mont Marte now carry clay in 2 kg blocks so you could build a life sized pig if you liked :)
Hello normamurphy14, the best thing is to paint it with Acrylic paint when it is dry. Thanks for the inquiry and remember to keep on creating :) Mont Marte Joe
Hi CRAFTINGITLOUD, it depends on the ambient temperature, but in the sun something like this should take about 24 hrs. Of course you can speed dry it with a hair dryer if you want. Peace MMJ MMJ
@MontMarteArt Ha! Way too cute to break. It wouldn't be too hard to cut a hole in the bottom before it's dry and plug it up later with a cork. Thanks for the demo. You make all the projects look easy and fun.
I watched 2 of these making this . The first one was very good, and I'm watching u. Question for the money to come out should there be a hole at the bottom?.if I can't get it out at the top. how wide does the slit have to be for the money to come out.😊
Hi Josephine, Porcelain must be fired as it is a refractory clay. Our air hardening clay is amazing as you don't need to worry about the hassle of firing! If you have made a piggy bank we would love to see it, post up some piccies on facebook or email us here at Mont Marte Regards Ron
@doforanimals You would need to break your bank to retrieve the coins! But if you would like to keep the piggy intact, you can sculpt a lid in or create a plug on the bottom. ~Mont Marte Joe
I know that this is an old video. and I am not sure if you guys will be reading this but, he does NOT have an annoying accent, I think it's quite normal. I mean, accents is quite subjective, cuz it depends on the person and where he/she is from. For me, Americans and Canadians have "an accent"... so :) ANYWAY, this is not the video's topic. I have always wanted a piggy bank, but never found one that I liked, so I will be making this soon... I might even vlog it :D
new sub! love your cheerful attitude. really lifting:) your piggy banks are too cute. cant wait to make the. i have such a hard time keeping my hollow clay from collapsing. so wish me luck:)
Hey there aplha32199, you can either build a hole in the base of piggy and plug it with say a cork or the other option is to break piggy and build another piggy. :) Mont Marte Joe
You could also just use the pinch pot technique and connect the two together. But this project takes alot of clay to make a piggy bank of significant size to hold change. But for decorations only this is good.
@heyammos Hi Heyammos,Air Dry Clay will break when smashed with a heavy object and is not chalky. It is lighter and stronger than normal clay due to the paper additive. Depending on the thickness it requires about 24 hours to dry. If you are interested, our next video will be Sculpture Techniques so it might help answer any additional questions. ~Mont Marte Joe
Hi, Monty I'm writing you back because I am a retired day care teacher, but when I was working as a Daycare with 2yr Olds and 3 year Olds, I was the only teacher making play dough. and every time I made it they would always asking me could they borrow it for thire class. I resonly brought a box of air dyer clay and harding clay in different colors from Amazon .the prices are so small I can't make any thing with them. I'm retired now. but my niece frist born loved for me to make him play dough when he was 3yr old. now he's a grown adult 26 yr.and her second one is 9 and I'm doing the same thing with him. I usually make my own clay , and found lots of neat projects on pinterst gor kids. using clay.i also have lots of seasonal cookie cutters that I bought at Amazon for him, his class made a cute ❤clay house with a tea light inside. but I always wanted to make a piggy bank. my niece is a waitress at her job.and she can bring lots of corks home. Love that Bret hat.😊😊
Is this clay good for sculpting detailed faces....like will it hold the hard edges. If not do u no any air drying clay material that can. ?..for I do not have access to a kiln 24/7 Thanks!
I am a beginner, so don't have much idea. Can you tell me if I can make plant pots by this? Is it okay if the pots only air dries or the color removes by time? Thank you i
+Tamanna Rahman Hello yes you can make pots for plants with air dry clay, just ensure there is a hole in the base so water does not well. Then seal the pots with 3 coats of Acrylic paint when the clay has fully hardened. :) Joe
Hi ARS_9mm, thank you for your question. Mont Marte Air Hardening Modelling Clay takes approximately 24 hours to dry (depending on the thickness of your sculpture). Is this the information you were looking for?

Hi there, if you want to use the pig as a real piggy bank, we would suggest you make a hole at the bottom and fit a cork into the hole 😊
I love this video! You are great! So educational and also funny!

You can if you can manage to get something that large to hold it's shape with cold porcelain
@heyammos

Hi ,Monte QUESTION I wrote to you a while back .when you cut the opening at the top for the coins to go in. how far down is the cut?.
Hi there, cut the opening until the void inside the pig is reached 😊
how much time does it need to dry?
because i like your piggy bank and i will do it NOW!!!
:D
Hi, Monty I'm writing you back because I am a retired day care teacher, but when I was working as a Daycare with 2yr Olds and 3 year Olds, I was the only teacher making play dough. and every time I made it they would always asking me could they borrow it for thire class. No I didn't but please feel free to add this in to your piggy. Thanks for the great inquiry. Peace
Mont Marte Joe.
That's when you bring out the handy dandy MontMarte hammer :) Or you make a hole at the bottom and use a rubber stopper or something to plug it up.
When it is filled, can be broken? I mean is it made of chalk? How long does it need to dry? is the final product heavy or light?
Is this clay good for sculpting detailed faces....like will it hold the hard edges.
If not do u no any air drying clay material that can. ?..for I do not have access to a kiln 24/7
Thanks!
Awww poor piggy!
Yes Its air dry clay? so you should be fine.
Mont Marte Joe
That was funny when you slap the two clays together
Why do I feel like this is a tv show
Beautiful
hi,
i wanted to know if mont marte air drying clay can be used in silicon moulds for creating different shapes?
I will use air hardening clay but can I use other options of brands ?
is there other colours for the clay and what size does the clay come in???? ^_^
I've got to admit... I read the message with your accent!
how long does it have to dry, before I paint it. and how long does it need to bake. ?
Hi Pamela, a sculpture this size should take about 3 days. Air dry clay dries when the moisture leaves it. It does not need to be baked.
Will a ceramic piggy bank last longer than a air dryer piggy bank
@@pamelaquander8485 They’ll last about the same 😊
so how are you going to open it and get your coin?
Great comment BBArt1914 Very constructive.
how do the coins go in ?? the clay is in a ball ???
I am a beginner, so don't have much idea. Can you tell me if I can make plant pots by this? Is it okay if the pots only air dries or the color removes by time? Thank you i

Thank you very much. Can you please tell is any glazing is good for ceramic pots or three coat acrylic paint is fine?
3 Coats is fine, just make the first coat thin and of course wait for them to dry between coats. Joe
@karenkwan01
Thank you Karen!
~Mont Marte Joe
how do you get the money out by the way love how cute it is
Just cute a hole lmao
No this is for air dry clay Juniper.
How long does it take to harden?
The only tools that I have to cut it in half is fishing line and a small Mellon scooper. and for the ears a pizza cutter.😊
u look famous like i hav seen u on tv before
Well you could cut a hole into the bottom and use a cork so that you don't have to break the adorable piggy :3 that's what I did
hehe yes. :)
Lol love clay u should do more polymere clay charms
Where can I get the stuff?
can you use sculpey 3 clay because that is the only clay i have
how do u get the money out? can i add carve a hole in the bottom and then i can use the the carved clay as to stop the money coming out
How much is the clay and the tools.
When it is filled, can be broken? I mean is it made of chalk?
Do you have to brake the bank to get the money out?
Can u use other air dry clay?
you are very enthusiastic...it scares me. nice bank though
Is it really like Das clay? Because I need slow drying clay.
Hi ARS_9mm, thank you for your question. Mont Marte Air Hardening Modelling Clay takes approximately 24 hours to dry (depending on the thickness of your sculpture). Is this the information you were looking for?
