Oh you can make so many variations of this fly to match the naturals. I’ve tied some with a biot and quill bodies and they look great. But I’ve honestly have found that the fly body just being built up with the black thread is the most effective.

What hook size do you typically use?
I’ve thrown as large as 16 but usually I’m throwing 20s
