@RC CRAWL so what will need to be done to this in order to compete ? I bought this car to get into drag racing. I know it’s a starter car but am I going to be throwing all new esc and motor in it in order to compete?
Love these videos wasn’t very confident in trying to maintain my rc because I didn’t know how to. I wouldn’t even use lips battery’s and now after watching these videos I’m way more confident in maintaining, upgrading, and lastly ven driving my rc to its full potential
By far the best review of this car i have seen yet....good job RCDriver........i pretty much have made up my mind that i would be scoring one of these before i saw this review, but NOBODY else has spent the time to address so many of the little things, the technical stuff.....subbing you because of this vid alone, but am going to check out all your content now.....
Losi has always been progressive in the hobby, like bringing mini and micro crawlers to the market. A lot of people think the scx24 brought the micro market, But lets not forget who started it all! I am a long time losi fan, from xxxt to my mini t's I love em! This will be my 2nd losi drag car as I have a tlr22 3.0 converted to no prep!
Dang man, just earlier today I was thinking to myself,...I have way too many R/Cs... no need to buy anymore... running out of room... after this video, who needs a bed anyways.. floor will do just fine... Now I patiently wait...😀
Just a note: Lexan does not shatter or crack. Acrylic is brittle. Lexan is polycarbonate, which is not brittle at all. It bends and will fold in half flat without breaking. It’s what they use on full scale race car windshields.
I just bought this body for the Slash.. Losi must have read my mind😀 I was about to order a Slash and convert it into a drag car? I've bought 3 Losi cars already this year they are really knocking it outta the Park!!👍😄🎉
That is awesome.....might have to get the red one.....I raced years ago....and Summit was my main supplier....the price is right on the sweet spot.....Great Job RC Driver..👍
Wow Greg, what a beautiful RTR. Losi came through on this car. Great review man, nobody does a product review like you. Love all the detail you always go into about the rig or product on the bench. Seen this and the Rc Saylors and I knew which one to click on. Thanks Greg for sharing this incredible piece of awesomeness
Thank you. It takes a lot of time to create them, but I enjoy it and I’m really happy when it helps someone out. Losi did a great job on this release! 😎
I have mine on preorder I done it as soon as I heard about the car and the youtubers got them and it is sweet! I can’t wait till they release them to the public!
Well I guess I'm entering the Drag World now. It would be great if they came out with a whole line of different cars like Kyosho did with their muscle car line. I would love an El Camino version of this
Welp I cancelled my order on the Losi, I just know I won't use it that much and I'm really into getting air right now. Living in the climates we do, snow and ice 7-9 months out of the year well there's not much play time there just like my boat. But I can run my Hoss all year round. So we are sticking to MTs, truggies and buggies from here on out. Unless I hit the lottery. 🤪 Plus the wife is getting more strict on our purchases so I better go with something more versatile like a Arrma Typhon 6s. Or hey maybe even a Arrma Vorteks when the clear body comes out. 🤪 Have a good one Greg!
Great review. Losi / Horizon really did their homework, and looks to have put out a great car. I am not a Chevrolet fan, but a '69 Camaro in Laguna Blue is always gorgeous. Having working lights is a neat option, especially for running at dusk/dark. Personally, I would leave the body as a shelf queen, and just use a different body for actual racing. Metal drive shafts, and wheelie bar are very nice. Having the ESC tray mounted high, with an adjustable battery tray, as stock, is money. The battery hold down looks great, but I worry about durability. Velcro is so much cheaper, and lighter. The main issue I see is heft. The 6061 aluminum chassis is heavy, compared to plastic/carbon trays, and with optional aluminum accessories, can get even heavier. DR10 is 1900g, less batteries. What is the weight of the 22s?
A proper in depth review as always, I'm a Chevy enthusiast the red one is on preorder I've been on the fence with rc no prep this car sold me really like your new shop set up well done Greg 😎👍
Sammy - just note that all these RTR drag cars have built in gyro's to keep them going straight as an arrow (which is great) for the backyard basher, but if your planning to race No Prep it's not allowed its an automatic DQ. Definitely a whole different game without a gyro but it makes it so much more fun & competitive...🏁💯
@@ConditionZero76 I did the no gyro thing to see what it was like, i got it going pretty straight. But your right, i do it just for kicks and the gyro is a really good tool to have 👍
@@sammygonzalez7627 ye the gyro will definitely help straighten you out, without the gyro on if you drift left or right 9 times out of 10 it's the pre-load spacers that need adjusted, so I would always recommend starting there, like if you take off & it starts pulling to the right, take 1mm spacer off the left shock place it on the right shock or vice versa, make several runs & if needed remove & replace more .. Best of luck Bro..... 💯🤘🏼🏁
Feeling nostalgic. I have a Blue 69 Camaro No prep Drag Car with wheelie bars I built in 1985 on a Tamiya Subaru Brat chassis with sway bar, oil shocks and big and little drag wheels and tires.
Nice review Greg, great job. I like the look of the no prep drag cars. Allot of guys were bashing about it being competitive out of the box, they forget that this is a platform to get into and build off of. All the no prep cars are modified. This rtr looks great and stable on runs. I might have to pick one up!! Stay safe and bash on from Colorado!!
Thank you! Being competitive doesn’t mean just winning to me. It’s being able to use something that is comparable, that works and yields good results. Just being able to have the feeling that you came close to another competitor on the track will grow a drivers confidence to stick with the sport.
@@rcdriver it sounds like this car is going to have to run in the outlaw class if another class isn’t made just for this car. What would be the recommended motor and esc combo to be competitive in the outlaw class ?
Losi are killing it!!! My next RC will definitely be a Losi.... Hopefully Super Baja Rey 2.0.... Traxxas quality control seems to be non-existent on the last two Traxxas models I've owned
That grill looks nice and all but they shoulda made it black with just the little bit of "chrome" around it, like the real 1:1 Camaro. ...and I know they have to in order to get the detail, but the "seam" that goes across the quarters really sticks out to me. just my opinions... don't shoot me! lol I do think overall, it's a REALLY cool rtr drag car, thanks for the review!
Finally got mine, was on like 5 waiting lists. Horizon Hobby came through for me first. 🤙 Still waiting for the Drag Slash, these two are hard to get hold of. Nice review. 👍🏻
well, it kinda is cheating as you mentioned because it has a gyro, in no prep that would get you DQ'd immediately, without the gyro it's much much harder to control but that's also what makes it so much more fun & competitive 🏁💯🏁💯🏁🤘🏼 Great Video
Sweet car !! That trailer in the background was giving me horrible flashbacks. I grenaded a nitro car on the landing gear on a semi trailer at approximately 70+ mph. 😭😭😂😂🤢
Oooh trust me. I was not to thrilled running there. But behind the start area was pallets of stone and rock. I figured running towards the snow and trailer was the better option 😂 Wish winter was over.
@@rcdriver I’m a truck driver and was showing my new nitro car off to a couple employees and I think because of all the trailers and metal building it lost transmission to controller and just kept going on it’s own. Hit the landing gear and exploded probably 20-30 ft into the air into 1000 pieces. Lol 🤢 I’ve recently got into crawlers so hopefully won’t blow anything up anytime soon. Lol
i just got my first drag car, same as the video show, just to play with my buddy, after a few play times, its a great rc car , i think i might get a traxxas drag slash in the future(i love these old school, classic & muscle car look 😎) just.....dammmmmn dude ~ sexy as hell
801 No prep rc drag racing. I would have liked to see some runs with a GNSS to see where it falls in the hierarchy of the drag cars out there. The motor takes it out of the 13.5 class, so It would have to run either a bracket or Street eliminator class. I doubt it will keep up with the SE cars though, so a roller might be the better option there.
Yeah that was what I was thinking. A new class for it, or have to modify it to fit a different class that’s where the roller would come in. Here we have a bracket class where it’s run what you brung with staggered starts and such. It’s nice for those working on making it to play with the fast guys.
Going say performance so well like cheating, I see guys put upwards 1000 dollars and car dosen't go straight. Kind of made it exclusive. I can see not be allowed in certain classes .
Very cool 😎, you should rig a nice twin chute arrangement for a more scale drag and braking. It looks as though I will have to buy one of these to add to my RC enjoyment garage.
I think u need to be on a flat surface if u want to see smoke off the tyres 👍 like a very flat tarmac or driveway with no air pockets like gravel or cobbles gives 😀 Great Video 👍 What a Car, I would like some Colour options and body options would be cool to customise 💪💪💪
Thanks for braving the cold and finding a clean spot to run the car. I wish you could have used a GPS system on it to see how fast it was going on 2s and on 3s. That car looks solid (metal gears/transmission). I bought the Team Associated DR10 RTR late last year and there would be no way that car could keep up with the Losi. I hope Traxxas jumps on the No Prep bandwagon and releases a RTR or roller. From what I understand, the Traxxas LCG short course chassis with buggy arms, and so on was and is the preferred choice but everyone (including myself) had to buy the parts necessary to make a No Prep car. Good job and thank you for the review
These drags are cool indeed but dam put a lil power in them. Stock they suck. Bought dr10 ran one time and pulled motor and esc. Put a hobbywing 5600kv combo in it. It runs good now and straight with tuning.
Ooff.. Brave man... Testing a plastic, fast car in the cold... Recipe for breaking plastics. Love it, though. Got the Traxxas funnycar when it came out. Traxxas was just too early. I wonder how it would sell now, when no-prep really has taken off.
Yeah greg this was an awesome review definitely 1 of the best. Lmt now this haha and I'm an ae guy. Love my lmt after new axle cases 🤣 I'll be preordering this bad boy for sure.
This is by far better looking then the slash! I love the c10 but the camaro is bad ass. It's funny how Traxxas losi and and associated used there old short course chassis to make there drag car. Well the slash is there only 10th scale sc truck outdated and all lol
Beautiful car. Just got mine today. ESC is set at 50%. Still very fast with a 3S battery. Putting tape on the inside of the body is a good idea, but the tires will rub through the tape aswell. I've only done a couple passes to to try it out with the stock set up and OMG it is amazing! Cant wait to find a bigger lot to try it out in. One thing I would like to know is what distance does it get with the remote?

The Traxxas drag slash is a whole lot better, because it has extreme brushless power, TSM, and that amazing 67 Chevrolet C10
Take note other RC RUclipsrs, this is how you do a product review! Fantastic job Greg, I've pre-ordered mine, can't wait to give it the SBG treatment!

Need a race between associated and losi video straight out of the box
I’m sure that’s going to be happening soon all over lol
Just on the specs alone, Losi will be faster. DR10 will have to be on 3s, to be competitive
Its kinda apples and oranges, DR10 is 13.5 class, where this Losi would be Outlaw. 3300kv vs 6500kv
@RC CRAWL so what will need to be done to this in order to compete ? I bought this car to get into drag racing. I know it’s a starter car but am I going to be throwing all new esc and motor in it in order to compete?
Would you recommend a Spektrum 3s 100c battery over a 50c. Awesome videos. Keep up the good work. Ty for your time

It goes extremely straight, most guys who have put thousands of dollars into their custom drag builds and they don't even go straight
It does. One thing I didn’t mention was it was 47-degrees out. So it was hooking up really well on cold unprepped asphalt.

I always think about the speed meter AFTER I get to the test spot. Doh. It would have been a cool bit of info to add.
Very well explained... Thank you very much sir.
I am going to Radio Control Headquarters in San Antonio today. Thanks for the reviews.
This informative vid eliminates all future reviews on this dragster. Great job we even got to see it run.
I like giving as much info as I can so people can make the right decision if this car is for them. 😀
At release date was this 629 $. Now 149 . At this price maybe time to try this.
Losi really going all out recently
Great video. Thank you
That looks fantastic
Looks cool realistic. I'm going to look into this beast. Good content il b subscribing thanks
These drags are cool indeed but dam put a lil power in them. Stock they suck. Bought dr10 ran one time and pulled motor and esc. Put a hobbywing 5600kv combo in it. It runs good now and straight with tuning.
great review & first drive~~👍👍👍
Added this to my DR10..... totally different, not a 13.5 but fun.
Ooff.. Brave man... Testing a plastic, fast car in the cold... Recipe for breaking plastics. Love it, though. Got the Traxxas funnycar when it came out. Traxxas was just too early. I wonder how it would sell now, when no-prep really has taken off.
Yup, cold weather testing is always sketchy, but it had to happen! lol
Yeah greg this was an awesome review definitely 1 of the best. Lmt now this haha and I'm an ae guy. Love my lmt after new axle cases 🤣 I'll be preordering this bad boy for sure.
i love rc so much
Wow.
Thats a great looking car.
Great video man.
As always haha.
It look very nice
This is by far better looking then the slash! I love the c10 but the camaro is bad ass. It's funny how Traxxas losi and and associated used there old short course chassis to make there drag car. Well the slash is there only 10th scale sc truck outdated and all lol
Great edit great production .... such a cool looking car
This - Is - AWESOME!!!
Absolutely!
A beautiful car for sure! Great review 👍👍
Looks really good
Beauty ..... Thanks for the vid
