    I test drove a 2013 Accord Sport 6-speed today and came away extremely impressed. I didn't want to go back to the dealership, I Just wanted to keep driving it! Very smooth power, precise steering, excellent body control and very comfortable interior. Honda understates the power of this engine so they don't bump up against the Acura ILX (201HP). Car and Driver dyno'd a '13 Sport and it put down 182 hp AT THE WHEELS. So it's likely closer to 200-210 hp. Think of it as a mature Civic Si. I demand A LOT of "sport" in my vehicles. My current car is a R56 MINI Cooper S 6-speed which I freakin' love. But I'm seriously considering this car. It's that much fun to drive! I haven't driven a Civic Si... I may consider one of those too...

    • @mejia.fk8
      @mejia.fk8 7 лет назад +2

      The Civic Si was a blast to drive. I was considering an Accord Sport when I bought my Si. I've parted from my Si now though and moved on to something much more immature lol

    I have a '13 sport. Super easy to work on...managed an amazing 40mpg on hwy. 30 average. installed a K&N filter for a couple of more ponies and even better milage. Make sure you change the cabin filter. VERY EASY to do and it will save you AC compressor. I love the SPORT, dual exhaust. .mini trunk wing and the 4 extra ponies..Got dealer down to 21.5K out the door....Love the 2016's!!!..arrh..

  • @bowman4502

    Accord sport has a slightly firmer suspension, and the cvt paddle shifters make passing on the highway very easy. You can paddle shift in regular drive or sport mode, with the tranny returning to regular mode fairly quickly in drive mode while sport mode holds "gears". Amazing ride, amazing looks and value.

  • @DallasLuvster
    @DallasLuvster 10 лет назад +18

    The only problems with Hondas,which I have had a few, that you are limited in what options you want with the car. Either you are stuck without enough options or having to buy the top of the line just in order to get a navigation system having to spend a lot more than you want. So if you wanted the EX and not the EXL with a Navigation forget it. You don't get much more inside the car with the sport yet it looks better on the outside. You think with a sport you could get more than 4 speakers too etc...

    Its exactly what he says it is, a Family Sedan that wont kill your soul lol
    I have a small family so i needed to get a sedan, and the accord sport was the perfect mix between family and fun for me.
    The manual gives me a bit of play time and the size and gas milage make it sensible for my family.
    All in all its a great car and in the 15months I've owned it i've had very few complaints with it.
    The one thing i absolutely hate is the fact that its a family sedan without a 60/40 back seat... so if I have something to haul I cant have my carseat or my son with me, which is more than a little annoying.
    The wheels are nice, but if you ding them they're expensive. I made the choice to get 18" winter tires which made the road noise much louder and dropped the milage but not by much, and it was a dream in the winter. I live in Canada and we get some pretty intense snowfall and I had no problems all winter.
    Apart from basic maintenance i've had no mechanical issues and i put on 45k KM's in the first year.
    All in all I would recommend this car to anyone with a small family.

    • @ttfordfocus
      @ttfordfocus 9 лет назад +1

      Excuse my ignorance but what's a 60/40 back seat ?

    • @davidmarrett9592
      @davidmarrett9592 9 лет назад

      Jose Torres 60/40 would mean that the back seat folded down as two parts so that you could still have a passenger back there while hauling something too long for just the trunk so you folded down a seat. These new Hondas have no split folding seat so if you are hauling something that requires you to fold the seat down, no one can sit back there.

  • @alanholmes2366

    This is a "nice" car. Now here's the problem with that. As a Honda owner I want a great car. I have a Honda prelude that I love. It's a 2001 (the last year it was available in the us). My car has a 5 speed manual with 200hp. So 13yrs later why would I buy a bigger, heavier sedan that makes 5hp LESS! Why not a 240-250 hp 4! Or a 275hp 6 cylinder with the manual transmission? Honda can make a real enthusiast car. They just refuse to

    One annoyance that no one seems to mention about the Accord is that the top centre screen reflects the base of the screen on sunny days.
    On my test drive, it got so bad I could see the display properly. This is due to the slanted glass in front of the screen, which perfectly directs any glare from the base of the screen to the drivers face. Bit of an oversight unfortunately.
    Otherwise I thought the interior is pretty well thought out.

    Sport means jack shit other than a few cosmetic variance on the mid-size segment. This car was made for going from A to B extremely well (room, fuel economy, safety). So tired of listening to these reviews talking about "enthusiast" and "performance". What a waste of time. Least freaking review the V6 if you're going to talk about performance.

  • @alanholmes2366
    @alanholmes2366 9 лет назад

    I would compare my Prelude to a sports car but guess what? There isn't a Honda sports car in their American line up anymore. That was part of my point. Honda has a strong presence in racing. They make great cars and are capable of making a great high performance car. So please make one! Even a real sports model of the Accord would help. Not a trim level called sport but one with some real teeth to it. I still own my Prelude sh and I love it. My other car has over 300hp/300+ft lbs of torque. Top speed of over 150mph. You grow up make more money and want more performance. Just want Honda to cater to those of us that love the brand but desire more performance.

    Personally I think the Accord is one of the best all around vehicles but there are a few things that bother me. The lx and sport trim only has 4 speakers and you have to upgrade to the ex-l to get nav. Although I think the standard screen and camera are great there competitors offer a lower price for more features. Hondas are reliable but no longer a bargain for there price imo.

    I’m torn on getting either this car of the same year in a manual or getting a 2013 civic SI which is also a manual. What it comes down to is reliability and resale value. Which one comes out on top? Can anybody help with this?

      @@KappaCowI ended up getting a 2017 civic hatchback sport touring haha. It’s not a manual but for resale sake and having updated interior tech it made the most sense. 2013 just had too much depreciation as of 2021. Had I bought the 2013 model I would have gone with the Si, as it still holds better resale value and a very hard to find now.

    So let me get this clear, the difference between the "Sport" and "LX" is the Sport has a fake dual exhaust chrome tip? Its just a chrome tip and not a real left exhaust?

    • @loh1110
      @loh1110 10 лет назад +1

      Frank L Good points.
      I knew 2.4 ltrs, let alone a 4 cylinder would not need a dual exhaust. In fact, the 3.5 V6 doesnt need a dual exhaust either, makes no sense as it can't utilize it. BUT, the dual looks NICE.
      The sport just looks cool but nothing special.. i don't even like the paddle shifters as they make the car slower compared to just sticking it in "drive".
      As for the EX, compared to the LX, only difference being stereo, bigger/prettier rims, and useless moonroof, its basically the same sht for $3k more.... not sure if its worth it.
      I think LX wins IF you dont mind cloth seats.
      And what's with the EX-L price? Its 3k more than the EX, and all it has is leather + cool LED lights.... hard to decide.
      I'll most likely go for the LX but I may have to wait until the 2015 version being released by November as it will offer more colors than the 2013/14, a new updated fascia (possibly healights and back lights as well.. just a guess as they do this every two years to spark sales) AND "maybe" new rims for the LX as the current rims were from the previous model and its outdated :(

    Can anybody that owns a 2013 Honda Accord sport put up updates on their cars? I've always wanted a honda and I'm hoping to get one soon.

      Do you own the Honda Accord Sport? I'm thinking about getting the automatic because my daily commute is so much stop and go traffic that I wouldn't be able to enjoy a manual.

      Cesar I. I don't own one, but two of my neighbors do and they love it. Both have the automatic and have no complaints at all.

      Cool thanks a lot for your input! I have a old 200hp v6 and I'm hoping that the accord sport should be enough to match what I'm use to driving.

      Cesar I. No prob. I've owned many Hondas and loved them all, and you won't be disappointed.

    I'm not so sure that it really is a four horsepower difference. Car & Driver tested the EX-L I4 as taking 7.5 seconds to reach 60 MPH, versus just 6.6 seconds for the Sport with the 6MT. I don't know of many four cylinder large cars that come anywhere close to that (even the top-spec Fusion is slower).
    I agree that there should be a V6 6MT sedan like there is with the coupe!

    The V6 model comes with a 6-speed auto, not CVT.

    I think the sport is good except it doesn't come w/ leather seat and moonroof...

    Who do these journalists think they're making these reviews for? Only 1% buy cars with a manual.

    I don't understand why the Camry is still the best selling in class... It should be the Accord!

    I wouldn't mind trading my 2011 BMW 328i xDrive 6MT for a V6 Accord.

    The only part of a Charger that I want is the V8. Nothing else about the car can match the new Accord's universal appeal.
