@@excelsior999 Whoever her publicity agent or manager is, he/she has performed the job masterfully and is worth every penny, and Yuja deserves immense credit for having the acumen and foresight to allow her publicity team to utilize her unique qualities to buck the system and stir up a little controversy, thus drawing more attention to herself and separating herself from other artists so that she can dominate the field for as long as possible. She obviously has a very savvy business mind and is likely far more sophisticated than her public persona may indicate.

This young lady don’t look like how you imagine a classicsl pianist should look like.
But when she is sittning at the piano and start to play f.i. Schostakovitjs first piano concerto
all your imaginations will come to shame. This woman is FANTANSTIC! A brilliant interpreter, of no matter composer works!
She is well represented at RUclips, so don’t miss the chanse to be able to enjoy a fantastic pianoplayer almost live!

The first (and only) time that I heard Yuja Wang being interviewed I actually cringed at some of the crude language that she sometimes uses. If she thinks that this is "Cool" she would do well to listen to interviews by ladies of the classical music world such as Martha Argerich or Mitsuko Uchida.
She is unquestionably a fine pianist but she still has a lot of growing unto do.

@@excelsior999 Different times? One must look at the whole, not focus on a tiny part of a very modern performer... I believe some would condemn Mozart - from another "earthy" age? And in the 50s when I was growing up, there were stories of famous singers with a wider "vocabulary" Yuja is a disarmingly open person.

@@clairejin1704 There are some wanna be classical pianists on RUclips who play quite well, but have an insignificant following. They are pale compared to Yuja's success and acclaim.
