As a woman i can tell you everything about your face looks great. You are right on about nails. I always notice a man's hands and dirty nails are a deal breaker.
Thanks, Charlotte
Great job James. So many of the younger guys require this guidance, and so many of the older men, need these reminders.
Self-care is an expression of self-love,and a reflection of self-esteem. Why not take excellent care of the armor that houses your soul?
Thanks Sam. I love your expression, ‘the armor that houses the soul.’
I’m My dad never taught me this iam not smart but I feel like I know more than him by watching and meeting other peoples I learned so much from RUclips in this 4 years that I couldn’t learn from school iam trying everyday trying to learn something new iam 17 will turn 18 in few months all I will say keep learning knowledge and words are powerful appreciate your videos and sorry for my bad English it’s my 3rd language
Your dad has given you more than his dad gave him. And you will give your son, more than you were given. Ideally, that is how it works.
Keep working on your English. Mastery of the English language will create many opportunities for you.
You are very smart.
It looks like you are using shoe polish cream on your shoes. With some brushing and even buffing, it will give you a moderate shine. You can up the shine with some shoe wax polish which has waxes in it. I use Saphir which seems to be the highest quality and has natural waxes. Kiwi uses petroleum waxes and smells like it. You can go one final step and get some Saphir Mirror Gloss and put a high shine on the toecap. There's a ton of videos on RUclips on how to mirror shine a shoe. These take some initial time, but after that, maintenance is just a couple of minutes.
The manscaping looked a bit too close for comfort to me 😂and thankfully most of us (especially we older gents) can get by with just trimming our eyebrows rather than plucking them! Seriously, here are some extra ones: 8.Keeping toenails trimmed to help prevent holes in socks; 9. Checking shirts for frayed collars and cuffs and jackets for tears and spill stains; 10. Ties can get dirty and damaged with wear, plus spill stains; 11. Launder clothes weekly and with care according to colours vs whites and specific fabric washing instructions.
Excellent advice regarding the holes in socks.
A man from 1960s or 70s era landed in 21st century and helping us to improve our overall personality. He must have time travelled.
I take this as a compliment
Hey man. In my eyes, you look 10x better on the bathroom footage. Consider different lighting for your recording setup, I feel like you can look much nicer and welcoming with the right light set up!
Since buying a high quality steamer, I rarely ever iron and save a ton on time. Good tip on periodically checking the buttons - never thought of that one!
I'm getting more and more intrigued about the benefits of a steamer versus an iron. Thank you for the recommendation
Is a steamer better than using an ironing board for shorts?
My friend! What a channel!!!! Keep up the great work brother and you will raise millions of subs! I hope you will raise millions that will follow your advice's because nowadays there are no real gentleman's. I keep rewatching Mad Men and realizing how different our generation is and how wrong we are doing almost everything.
I just hope that you will start developing more about the fragrance side of the gentleman since there are many people thinking that a gentleman should wear a ton of fragrance and choke everyone around or a 30-year-old guy should wear Versace Eros.
Thank you, Mister!
Thanks for your comment, Antonio. Mad Men is a great source of inspiration for me too. I will definitely make more fragrance content in the future
Another great, informative video...keep it up! A lot of young men, and even some older ones, have simply never learned grooming habits. I have a small straight-bladed electric trimmer instead of a rotary like you have. It pulls double duty on the nose and eyebrows and even has a dual-sided guard for keeping the eyebrow hair under control, although my stylist does a good job of that too. I also iron once a week, and for those who don't know how to properly iron then Real Men Real Style, the Gentleman's Gazette and The Chap's Guide all have videos on how to iron shirts and trousers to keep them looking sharp.
Great routine! I'm a bit deficient in the classic gentleman category when it comes to polishing, I've never done it so it intimidates me. I do condition my shoes, which I find to be easy and require almost no skill whatsoever. I've never thought to do a button check, that's good advice. All the rest of this I do, in some form or another, and I too don't particularly mind ironing. I don't look forward to it but we do have music and podcasts always available as you point out, and it's kind of satisfying smoothing out the wrinkles, and preparing your clothes for the week. Well, it's always a pleasure.
Thanks, Jeremiah. I highly encourage you to look more into shoe polishing. What I do is just a minimum. Kirby Allison has some great videos on the topic.
@@Gent.Z Kirby Allison's the man! I may check out his polishing videos, thanks.
Great channel!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻all young men should watch your channel.
I do all the things you mention, but I don’t have a routine. It kind of happens as needed. I can see your point, though, of being more meticulous about it to make sure nothing is missed.
If you can keep on top of it habitually without a routine, that's great. I am a very routine person so it helps me to have an order to follow
I’m guilty of missing out on so many steps present in your routine template ! Nevertheless, I’d say I do have one routine day being Saturday, where I take better care of all my matters. I’d start the day slightly later, have a good breakfast before going to the gym, then head back to cook a nice lunch as I don’t have time for it on business days. After that, I take care of all urgent administrative work like bills and then it’s time for sauna session as we have a weekend time slot for the sauna in our building (I then use this time to watch my hair etc) :) !
Skincare is definitely something I’ve been lazy about but it’s better to start implementing now than being sorry later !
Your mention of ironing reminds me back when I worked as a tour leader for a tour operator: each evening as we arrived to our hotels with our customers, the last man to go to bed would be our bus driver ! Always ironing perfectly his white shirt for the next day, it’s an image that stayed in my mind as highly professional and sophisticated
Thank you. Some advice I follow and others I need to add.
Can you do a video about what to wear at home? And maybe even to the gym?
Hey, I think he’s done a gym one before. I believe the message was go there in the clothes you normally wear, ie smart, and then change into your sportswear when you’re there. But I can’t quite remember what he said to wear when working out, maybe shorts, trainers and a breathable top
@@thomasbrocatello1809 thank you
Cloth
Great video. I love the jacket you're wearing. That herringbone pattern is awesome.
Dont use the seeds on your face to exfoliate, its harsh on your skin, specially on your face. If you insist on doing it, atleast do it once or twice a week. You should also use moisturizer to calm your skin down after using it. I would say using a chemical facial cleanser is much better as effective as an exfoliator.
A can of "heavy duty" spray starch does "wonders" for clothes. Sometimes you still don't even need an iron😊.
I'm personally not a fan of heavy starch, that goes back to my ROTC days when I used to get heavily starched uniform shirts back from the cleaners that felt like I was putting on a cardboard box. I find that for my purposes Magic Sizing (a very light starch) provides enough body to my shirts without making them stiff. There are other degrees of starch than really heavy, I think folks should just experiment with different ones to see how much body they like.
I know this is pretty off-topic, but you've once mentioned a gentleman should wear messenger bag instead of a backpack, so the question is, should he wear it on shoulder, in hand or is it up to him?
I always change out summer and winter wardrobes
Nicely done.
I'd also mention ironing your shirts inside-out to avoid, or at least lessen scorching- especially for those not used to ironing.
Your wristwatch is very nice⌚️
Thank you, it was my great Grandfather’s
I had a surgery in 1999. Had to shave down the tackle, ever since I can't go more than 2 days without shaving again, cannot deal with the re growth. 🤣😂🤣
clipping nails is right up there on my list, especially after I had an embarassing 'mission-aborted' situation one night years ago.
Any sugestions on what kind of shoe trees to use
Goid alternative for ironing that requires less space and preparation time is buying a steamer
All things one knows, yet need to hear. Thus it'll be taken seriously.
As a connoisseur, I can say that you give GREAT eyebrow!
I decided to buy an exfoliating scrub after this, but Tiege Hanley charges double the price of the bottle as shipping to my country (EU). Any other recommendations, or research on my own?
Where did you get the long sleeve ribbed gray sweater polo from?
Link is in the description
Hey James, Who's the woman in the background? Sister or someone else? 😂
Don't use shaving cream for man scaping, use conditioner instead. Trust me
If you and your significant other like the eyebrows that's all that matters.
Souhds like the real solution to nose hairs is always to be with women taller than yourself!
There aren’t too many women out there taller than me 😅
Would be great if you could give us a demonstration of your manscaping. Much appreciated. Thanks
I’ve always felt that a gentleman does not manscape his privates. Such an activity is totally unnecessary for a gentleman. It is reserved for men with questionable occupations such as in the adult film industry. What to y’all think? 🤔🧐
I’m not advocating for total removal, just some tending of the garden. Excessive hairiness down there is not pleasant for a lady
@@Gent.Z Thank you for that clarification. I’ve really enjoyed your videos. As a middle-aged man, I’ve found them to be very interesting and informative. All the best to you.
@@ArthurDecker1970 thanks Arthur, glad you’re enjoying the channel
04:55 Get the shoelaces out before you do anything else - watching that physically hurt, God damn it!! Otherwise, solid video 👌
Bro share your astrological birth details, for research purposes. What planetary position makes a man so charming? You definitely have very very strong Venus placements.
