    After failing with one and thinking this could be the general rule, I tried using a digital conversion box to enable two of my other digital monitors to receive over the air tv, and they did. It is nice to have less than $40 enable such widespread and on/off by choice capability.

    If you have time to make that video on how to assemble a better indoor antenna, that would be really useful where I live.

    Thx for the vid. What about sound? If my monitor has HDMI but no sound port; what is your audio option?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  3 года назад +1

      The tuner has audio outputs (RCA) You could connect them to an RCA Y connector at Amazon: amzn.to/3DbcnB2 to a set of amplified speakers (I have not tried this so I am just specualting that it would work) the new tuner is here at Amazon: amzn.to/382zBLB (Affiliate links. Helps me on RUclips and does not cost you any extra if you use them) Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

    pretty good, follow up questions, i learned there are now USB converter boxers(like a flash drive), are those as easy to set up?
    i've also came across the apparent need for software like windows movie maker or something else to watch tv but didnt seem to be needed here. whys that?

    What do you do if your monitor doesn't have any speakers? Is there a 3.5mm headphone jack on the box? I don't have any speakers that take the RCA connectors.

    Hello Richard, awesome domstration! I use OTA and there is a train directly behind us, which causes a lot of signal noise and I would like to know if the Homework box (ON MY 55" TV) will eliminate the noise. Thank you so much for sharing!?

      It's digital TV. The thing about DTV or anything digital is that it either works or it does not (It's On and Off technology). What would happen if you have a weak signal is that you would get drop outs or intermittent video. The Homeworx has a great tuner in it but it also require an antenna that can feed it enough signal. In your case I would start with a better antenna. What kind of antenna are you using now? Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

      Hello @@richardlloydusa Thank you for the response, The name of the antenna that i'm using is called: Mohu Leaf 30 mile directional tv antenna, which is pretty awesome, connecting to quit a few local tv stations, but it has problem with trains. Thank you so much!

    Yeah excellent video on the topic. You got me started not on TV so much but getting a decent video switch. Prices have come down and I have been using a 1280P monitor oh probably since 2012 and thought spending the extra on a 4K version would be best. Not sure this video switch will support that resolution. A couple bucks and you can get good 4K versions; well that are not future proof but up to speed today. Understand we are also dealing with HZ with 4K and others for lack of another term or including bandwidth.. I imagine it should work installing a Firestick in the HDMI port and working directly off of that platform; for that matter an old ROKU HDMI I have on hand. I have had better things to deal with but this one sounds like fun and will help many out there.

      @@richardlloydusa Hey Richard, I received the first part in my evolution to multi-use of my existing monitor from 2012, Amazon purchase .. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078ZFMDS7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . As I talked about I had an old Roku stick just the HDMI model, plugged it in along with my computer on separate ports and I'm enjoying more now, have a second computer to hook up and a work laptop that will join the unit soon. It's an old Asus 1280 25 inch resolution monitor but still works perfectly. Enjoyed Men in Black tonight as the first show watched. I'm going to add the TV box for fun, many years on RUclips and have not ventured out of that box but it was time to try some other viewing modes and now I can do it all in one place. Yes I even installed two years ago one of those 35$ rotate-able antenna's in a spare bed room corner ceiling with the amp box, used it once and it worked very well at the time but I will hook it up to this system and have some commercial HDTV to watch once and a while. Not new to technology just lost sight of this simple device. Once a sysop of The Milwaukee BBS, long time ago before the Internet. Sometimes you just have to widen your scope like it or not and this video did exactly that for me. Thank You.

    I purchased the digital converter box and hooked it up. what do you do when your monitor says "input not supported". Its a Acer monitor with a DVI and VGA port. I bought a HDMI DVI adaptor

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  3 года назад +1

      I suggest connecting it to a regular (HDMI capable) monitor to see if it is working at all. If that works, I suggest lowering the output resolution to something your monitor can take. Try 1280X720p or smaller. unfortunately there are limits to the DVI adapters. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

      @@richardlloydusa I hooked the converter up to a smaller Acer monitor and was able to view the menu on the screen. With my antenna I was able to find 34 channels. I could not get a picture after the menu finished but I could hear channel sound on my speakers. I'll give it another try today

      Take it to a friends house that has a normal HDMI TV and try it there too. You need to establish that it is working correctly and see if you can change the resolution down.Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

    Excellent video and information. Thank you. I would like to see how your multi-camera setup is accomplished. I would like to use multiple cameras on my Twitch channel, but am unsure what else is involved in a multi-camera setup. I currently use a single Logitech C920, and am considering purchasing more of that model, multiple C922 models, a combination of those two models, and eventually multiple models of higher quality. If it matters, I use OBS Studios with the OBS.Live add-in on a single gaming/streaming PC.

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  5 лет назад +3

      The switch I use is HDMI but if you are using a video capture card that is connected to the computer you are using the USB camera on anything is possible. Also you could use multiple USB camera's and use OBS to switch them but I have not done either scenario. I use multiple cameras, capture the video and then splice it all together using Sony Vegas Studio. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀
