- This is from a 3-day backpacking trip where I complete the 'Hetch Hetchy Loop'. This is a ~28 mile loop starting from the Hetch Hetchy Trailhead. I was able to self permit since it's the shoulder season. This was an awesome trip even though I had to complete quite a bit of mileage and had some weather difficulties.
Fire Permits and Backcountry Permits required.
Leave No Trace.
Stunning views all around. Great video once again!
Beautiful hike! I absolutely love finding the places where you just do not see any other people
Hidden gems are nice to find!
@@NickInNature also enjoyed that big old trout!
Great video. Thank you, sir, for your effort.

What a beautiful scenery, amazing film my friend!
Thank you for the very kind words my friend!
Amazing the difference in years and seasons!! We did the same hike in June 2023. You captured some amazing views that we had but didn’t capture. The difference in the water flow is amazing between what we did and you did!

How was it for you guys?! I had an awesome time out there!
Watched some of your video and wow the water difference is insane!
It was amazing. But we didn’t fish. Ran into two bears. One was at the very end on the switchbacks down right in the trail. He just moved aside and sat on a rock and watched us walk by. Lol
Best backpacking channel NA ❤
Crispy , crunchy fall backpacking in the sierras . It's so quiet that time of year, with most of the small creeks dry. Yep, a lot of bears in that area. I did my first solo hike to Vernon about 27 years ago. Your videos are hitting out of the park !! Great trip , and make sure you get to Laurel lake in the future.
Leaving before seeing Laurel Lake was a surefire way too get me to come back! You nailed it with crispy and crunchy and col though hahah! I was very surprised not to come across one and my bear can was never messed with, so they must be really happy with their berries in that part. I'm sure 27 years ago it was quite the gem still! Thanks for watching the video Justin and giving valuable comments means a lot.
always heard that hetch-hetchy was a good one. thx for proving it
Fantastic presentation!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Good vid
Fast hiker! WOW!
Nice adventure!
Thanks for watching!
Hey… girls like hiking and backpacking too. And… great fish… I think non stocked.
They definitely do! I don't think I say they don't in my video, although I say phrases like "lets go guys". I think that to me is an all encompassing term for everyone! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey Nick, thanks for the amazing video! Did you have to walk through any swamp during the trail?
I've heard it can be swampy through Tiltill Valley but when I went I had no problems. Thanks for watching and commenting! Happy hiking!
Are there any campgrounds close to Hetch hetchy? Great hike and vid
Hmm I'm sure there is although I'm not familiar. There is an overnight backpackers camp at the trailhead if you have a permit however.
What were the dates of your hike?
Mid November 2023. Thanks for watching and commenting!
