Been a Asda home shop delivery driver for 13years it’s a great job I just hate It when it snows but thankfully that doesn’t happen often
Nice video again mate! Keep up the good work.
At our Asda, if the van is below the 3/4 mark then we fill it up, just so there is no concern of running out of fuel
We’re supposed to fill up ever late shift as you finish but I guess sometimes people forget..

Thats the job i would like to work in netherlands.
How is the pay mate. looks like a calm job
Pay isn’t bad, nothing special but enough to get by. Better than some jobs out there for the work you do. :)
Did you say that you got your HGV license? if so is it the Class 1?
Personally myself I worked at as a delivery van driver at a Purple company.
and have moved to the lorries not at the same company unfortunately as they don't accept new passes even being an internal employee :(
Aw damn, that’s a shame! I just have a Class 2 at the moment.. I am very tempted to make it a Class 1 though some point in the new year and seeing if I can possibly move up to the trucks within the Green van company hah.. but that’s something I’ll have to see about. :)
Yo I do this as a job to. You lot get new vans. We’re stuck with the 68 plates. How you get so lucky with filming without getting told off ? 😮
Aha, we occasionally pickup a spare van with 67 or 70 plates when ours break down, they are alright and have less milage than ours! That may be why, maybe because our store covers more milage compared to some others we get newer vans more often. Unsure really. Also management are aware of the videos and so far happy with the way I am doing them, not getting any lates doing them either so everyone is happy. :)
Did you have to do a driver assessment? Got mine coming up for a rival supermarket.
I don’t think I did no but of course you drive for the first time with your ‘buddy’ on your last training run so if it was that bad I’m sure they’d raise the problem aha.
How was your driving assessment? What was u made to do ?
To high
What days off is drivers given off over the Xmas period
It changes and is worked out by management around the time but we don’t work Christmas day is all I can tell you. Last year I worked my usual days, covered some peoples shifts and they covered mine. It is decided at the end of November management ask availability usually.
Asda is a terrible company to work for I done this job the vans are poorly maintained and dangerous.
The 2 runs are annoying asda need to purchase bigger vans to allow 2 runs with 1 load the job would be much easier.
Just started looking into this, whats the pay like?
National living wage.
Was it hard getting this job and do you need a cv? I’m about to apply for this, thank you
Not difficult no but yes you need a CV and of course a driving license for 1+ year.
@@JackDeliversno problem… I applied and it didn’t ask for a cv tbh, not sure why but thank you for your reply anyway
are you getting ev’s?
I would love to say we are but people don’t actually consider how heavy an EV van is due to the battery and they get in the category of being a C1 class vehicle that you cannot use on a normal license, additionally you’d need a driver CPC and tacograph to drive it commercially… if they are still 3.5t or less, the carry capacity greatly reduces because if the extra weight.
@@JackDelivers we’ve done a training course it’s called AFV training it’s a 5 hour thing you have to sit through which allows us all to drive them at my store we’ve now got Ford E Transits converted exactly the same as our old diesels got to drive one for the first time today
That’s something I’ve never heard of, I just read it and you’ve just taught me something thank you. I’m glad that piece of legislation exists, that makes a lot of sense. I mean regardless personally I could still drive it either way with my entitlements. But I assume that training as it is still a B license removes the requirement for a tacograph aswell? That’s great news. In that case, I’d like to hope we get EVs some point. It makes sense for store deliveries, I do around 80-100miles per shift so per day the van does no more than 200 miles.
@@JackDelivers I’ve got the standard car license & the training has allowed me to drive them it goes onto your license that you’ve completed the course it’s the worst thing you’ll ever do you just sit for 5 hours of someone talking 😂
