- In 1999, the Spice Girls participated in an interview with the music television network TMF in London. The interview took place at the height of the group's popularity and was eagerly anticipated by fans around the world.
During the interview, the girls spoke about their music and their upcoming projects. They also discussed their experiences touring and performing live, sharing stories about their favorite shows and the fans who came to see them.

Agreed & she honestly is so great in interviews in this era. She always was, but with Geri gone, Victoria truly seems like the business mind.
Mel B seems so chill here
They sounded so mad at Geri at the beginning of the interview. 😢 I remember how devastated I was as a kid when she left and the tension was so palpable to me. I was so sensitive and going through a lot, so it felt like a death in the family.
We are all mad at her, Geri is the least talented and most self centered

My favorite era as well! Things happened how they happened, regardless of what we all think they could/should have done. Forever ended up how it ended up & of all of them, Melanie C seemed to have been most over the project by the time the forever album promo came around.

Geri leaving really screwed several of the plans they had for the rest of 98/99, starting with Aprilia suing them because Geri’s departure undermined Aprilia's marketing campaign and promotional material, which had featured all five group members, then there was the third album that we all know they recorded a lot during the Spiceworld Tour rehearsals in early 98 in Ireland, and much of it never was released. Emma at one point said they were looking forward to make a second movie following Spice World, but because Geri left the plan never came to light. Then there was the plan for an animated series, but again Disney backed up after Geri left.
Interesting! They must have been really annoyed about those opportunities going south. Still, the pregnancies would have added pressure to those projects too. Exhaustion and priorities shifting were the end of the 5-piece for a while. Everyone needs to grow individually. You can't do that if you're constantly answerable to 4 other people.
Geri had to have a break from Mel B for her own sanity. I'll never begrudge her for that as Mel B is a bully.
@@sirjaya2534the end of the Spice World tour (& the release of goodbye) was pretty much the end of the greatness that the band had achieved- which was global domination. They wouldn't have been able to do much more with the pregnancies, exhaustion etc.. the 3rd album Was good but you could totally tell that they only put in enough effort to make it good enough. as if they knew it was their last.. They didn't even promote the album that much- & they probably didn't expect the last couple of singles to chart well. their time as a band was drawing to a sunset by the end 1998.

Vic is genius when she were talking about what changed after Geri’s departure.
It was a cheap shot. She was clearly bitter, as you would be I guess. She was lying tho, if you watch the documentary they filmed for their first reunion back in 2007, she was the one saying it wasn’t the same after Geri left and actually blamed the others for throwing shade at her 😅 when this video is proof she did. Bit of a hypocrite.
@@Heytnoyou’re delusional. Geri held them back vocally and with their choreography. Their skill sets all increased significantly after Geri left. The fact you can’t see that or are in denial speak volumes.

@@iKETOURAGE they only lost a ton of personality because they were all distracted by their solo work. When they did their last tour, all of their personalities were there, but yes, they got rid of the weakest link, yet one of the most opinionated members
@@LeeoGoneWildsure Geri is by far the WEAKEST live performer in The Spice…. But personality wise she was the fiery, bubbly, savvy one. The personalities in the band were never the same. They were pretty bland with her gone, lol.

It's a shame the girls didn't release an EP around this time before releasing another pop album in '99.
Goodbye was released as an EP in some parts of the world. It contained songs from CD1 and CD2 singles.

Was Geri difficult to work with? It’s just it seems they couldn’t give a stuff about her leaving. Saying there’s more room on a sofa now they’re a four piece was a bit disrespectful and weird.
Well, they were bitter and sore, understandably, Geri leaving rocked the whole project...
Right now only Victoria could afford to buy a £20 Million Mansion, and pay cash for it. 3 of the girls would have to mortgage it, while Mel B couldn't afford it at all.
