He brings an intensity to the game that no one can describe. Busts his butt every play.

Not a USC fan but I did thoroughly enjoy these teams. Both the offense and defense was loaded with pro talent. Granted once they got to the pros none of them were that exceptional but in college if your team had to face them you knew there was a high loss potential. Cushing, Mualuga (sp?) and Rivers at LB.

It used to be Penn State was Linebacker U. During that period of the 2000s, USC was definitely Linebacker U. Before Cushing there was Matt Grootegoed, Lofa Tatupu, Dallas Sartz, then came Keith Rivers, Cushing, Rey Maualuga, Clay Matthews Jr. and Kaluka Maiava, arguably USCs finest years in the linebacking corp and maybe the nation's. I went to USC when Clay Matthews's dad (same name) was linebacking national championship teams. Ironically, the linebacker coach was Ken Norton Jr., who played his college years at UCLA. It's never been better.

Those names played well at the next level. You mean they never became half of fame talent. Reminds me of the SEC talent coming into the NFL.

He is my idol! As a high school MLB about to play college him and Posluszny are the LB's that are monsters! Love me some contact! And the people that say he was on roids please shut up, so ok he gained a ton of mass between frosh and soph season but so do a lot of people and it's not like his talent hasn't been there!

Cush has been training with Joe Defranco for the last 7 years. You don't need gear to be a beast when you train with that mob. Go Joe and Cush!

When you see a guy like Cushing who was as strong as all hell and then you realize that a guy like Larry Allen could just toss him around like he was a 7 year old. Really puts things into perspective with the level of athletes you're dealing with here.

I couldn't agree more. He is an athlete first. He ran a 4.5 in highschool and could dunk before steroids. All the juice did was allow him to hit harder and recover faster. I love steroids so much

im not sure if conor is more athletic but im gonna have to agree that brian cushing has a huge problem of being too stiff. im not sure how he will compete with other nfl players on his pass drops when he is not blitzing but for the run game i think he will do fine

I personally never used them. I don't think there is anything wrong with steroids. TheNFL would look like a division 3 game without them. a platerslongevity would be cut in half. The "testing" is only a facade.

@flaccojoe Laurinatis went to 2nd mainly because he had trouble getting off blocks. You can see that on the film. But i'm sure his combine numbers didn't help him either.

All U guys gotta do is put on the SC vs Texas (Vince Young) RoseBowl game on! Cush was a Legit Sophomore LB at 220lbs. Now, fast forward to his JR. Year and he’s a ripped 250lb Savage who’s more shredded than Taylor Mays. We all know everyone does Roids at one time or another to get better or get ahead! This cat was a workout warrior who was also addicted to THE JUICE, and I don’t mean OJ. Just put on the tape of Texans games and U can see for yourself. He’s Lattimer(The Program). Pro Bowl caliber guy on the Roids and just an average LB without🤔

he had a GREAT college football career and that is becuz hes a football player too much is made of 'his hips are tight' or 'he cant cover'... uh why was he so great in college then? the criticism doesnt make sense to me..
ill tell u 1 thing that will undoubtedly translate to the NFL and that is his passion, his drive, his blue collar work ethic and his intensity and i garauntee hes going to be great for my Texans,

honestly if u new anything about the sport u would no that they get tested every 3 weeks and can't even come close to getting away with taking steroids. and a guy like him gets tested even more often so it's pretty obvious that he is not on steroids.

@jackhandy00 mass = power = speed. generally if someone weighs 250, and can squat 520ish, how easy do you think it is for them to move thier 250 frame. strong legs = speed. not skinny muscless dude = speed.

  • @iamthisguy52

ok kids benching 315 when they get into college? first off in one year of college strength and conditioning ur maxes can go up about 50-60 lbs. Usc has the best strength and conditioning program in all the NCAA. cush was 6'4 214 as a senior in HS, he ran a 4.5. all he haad to do is get stronger and bigger and he kept his speed, explosion etc.
and 3 years of hard lifting at the top strength program in the ncaa, should actually get u stronger.

  • @flaccojoe
    @flaccojoe 15 лет назад

cush didnt use roids, they test u every week even in the off season, besides the things they do to u in college is nuts look at clay matthews he came in at 190 and is just as big. javih best gained about 20 pounds of muscle this offseason, cush was 220 freshman season he is 250 now its not tht big of a deal he didnt juice

'So before you go around accusing me of being a steroid abuser, consider a more serious alternative: I just want to be a mother, and I'm not going to stand here and let you jackals in the media accuse me and my 23" arms of cheating for personal gain. Im sure Cushing juiced at one time or another looking at that before/after pick and I'm sure theres a number of guys in the NFL roiding. It's merely enforced with a slap on the wrist if caught and why wouldn't you if its a sport based on being the biggest, strongest, fastest. I'm sure a huge number of players use. There are ways around the tests and it's not like these guys are tested daily. My roomates played football with a few D1 players who they knew were using, so whats to believe no one is

The Trojans have been a football powerhouse throughout NCAA history and won 11 national championships. In total, 472 Trojans have been taken in the NFL Draft, more than any other university. USC is second in Heisman winners at 7. USC has the most players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

theres a reason laurinatis went to the second round. he 40 was slow, his bench was worse then any of the trojans, and the trojan LBs have better talent. the only reason why maualuga went to the second round is beacuse the teams didnt want to deal with some off field issues, and his combine numders werent as great with the pulled hamstring he had
