their current government is very right-wing and conservative and i probably dont agree with them about anything really, BUT at least they are not genocidal lunatics like Russia's leadership. i dont think they'd ever attack a neighboring country.

Poland I think has been top of the list for not just supporting, but also taking in their friends from Ukraine.
Unlike Russia, Poland, has a long memory. They remember what happened when Russia and Germany split their country before WW2. Also, let's not forget that when Poland was 'liberated' by the Russians on their march West to defeat Germany, the suffering of the Polish people had only just really begun. No one came to Poland's aid on that day, 1st September 1939. Poland remembers what it's like to have friends who are tough on paper but weak on actions. They also realise that it's UKRAINE fighting for the democracy of the EU right now. #SlavaUkraïni

Feel like some of the EU has appeased Russia too much and not taken the threat they pose to Europe seriously enough. So it is good to see Eastern European nations like Poland or Baltic nations stepping up in Ukraine's time of need.
