In 1991, my wife and I travelled to Romania to adopt our first child. That was 2 years after the revolution. The sights and sounds will never leave me. We were in Bucharest for 3 weeks. What Rod said at the end of the video struck me deeply. My wife and I were in a small one bedroom apartment. It was late July 1991. The heat was unbearable. We had very little to eat. We both lost 15 pounds during that three week period. We had many challenges and road blocks that threatened to keep us from completing our mission to bring this little 4 and a half month old child to Canada. What Rod said was so true about being dependent on the Lord for everything. We were never so isolated and alone from our support networks. And yet we were never so close to hearing and seeing God work and answer our prayers at times that seemed impossible to get through. Jesus knows what is happening and He will walk with us through the coming storm! He will sustain us as we cling to truth and stand up against the enemy!
And you better believe it - since 4 months I want to make a list with the acts of God - when he helped me - I still cannot do it cuz I will cry for an hour ! This disgusting rejection of God insults him - when he helped me just imagine what he will do for you ! The creator is in charge and always has been.

There is much prophecy from 100 years ago (Azusa) and others more recently saying this is exactly what was going to happen, (including the world wide plague), but that Revival (The great end Revival) was shortly to follow... but Revival doesn't happen without prayer... personally I think God allows these events to get Christians on their knees in prayer, it's no coincidence the "persecuted" church is always the most powerful and effective one, simply because they actually pray ! Yes, but there are also many pastors that are learning this. As a pastor, we are to focus on teaching God's Word, sharing the Gospel, strengthening the church, counseling, ministry for all ages, funerals, weddings and so on. Encourage pastors and leaders to consider good discussions like this, many are just good Christians who are working on figuring these things out just like everyone else. There is a lot of things going on. Thankfully, the pastors that are seeking to please others will be easier to discern.

The Liberal Theology that denies the truths of the Bible, miracles, etc was what most church pastors believed in Germany as the Nazis were just coming to power. They already fell for lies and they continued with Hitler. However, pastors also were many leading the fight to end slavery both in England and the US and many other injustices over history. My point is to inform, encourage and challenge pastors because they can be a great force of good. If they won't listen to God's Word, fire them or if you can't, go to a church that preaches and lives truth. The tares and the goats are being revealed.
@Victorious Spirit The catholic and Protestant church resisted Hitler’s mandate and taught their followers to not obey him either. It was even obvious back then that Hitler was doing terrible things. People did resist his decrees, people tried to help their Jewish neighbours. But of course, the Nazi regime enforced their orders and delivered strict consequences to those that disobeyed. Some Christians obviously went along with Hitler to avoid severe punishment, some continued to resist.

My dad was drafted at 19 to Vietnam and for him to feel so sad about the world he's leaving me and his grandson in, really breaks my heart. I live in China. The Social Credit system is not that pervasive yet. China does watch people and they have a lot of tech, but it's not integrated yet. When a foreigner crosses the border they identify you, but local police don't know you exist. You are told to register with the local police, which I do, but it is still possible to not register and they probably wouldn't know. Personally, I am much more worried about the USA business surveillance via, of which your guest speaks. The level of spying (now called marketing) that is being done in the USA is just as bad if not worse than China--and this is all done, not by Big Brother, but my Apple, Google, etc. Laws need to be passed to stop this. And alternative businesses need to be created in the market so as to avoid the monopoly that has taken place in the USA.

Oh wooooow!!!! This si so cool to hear! I'm from the Czech Republic. Even though I'm a post-revolution child, I had these kind of stories first hand from my mom. She became christian during the Communist regime and she told me how everything she had - books, song books, Bibles etc. - was either secretly delivered to our country or re-typed over and over on typewriters and spread amongst christians. It's so amazing to hear about my history and my culture from someone who lives on the other side of the ocean. At present time I can see that subtle social justice opression even here, it's like the whole church is melting, it's almost impossible to find a true Bible believing church here. The only true christian fellowship I have now is with my sister - so we have kinda "small group" together (if two ppl are a group lol). In 2019, I got into a discussion with a sweet delivery man was from a former Communist country (Albania, I think he said). We talked about the state of the country, and he eventually told me he was grateful that I could see that that is where America was at, because most people could not see it and are completely ignorant. I felt alarmed, yet grateful, that someone who knew it first-hand validated my fears. I think of that man often and want to know how they all survived, because this is something most of us have no idea how to live through.

I live in the Seattle area and we're a little ahead of the curve in converting to the new work version of Marxism. Two formerly conservative churches I've been associated with are now "social justice" churches, and the old timers are hanging on like nothing happened. It's like they attend "worship service" like it's hypnotherapy regardless of content. We Christians need to just walk away and quit churches like these, and maybe move to parts of the country that are more resistive to this. Don't worry, God doesn't lose track of you if you don't check in at a "cooperate worship service station" every Sunday.

Our Cubans friends use to say to us “ this is how everything started in the island “ and we said: oh that would never happen here in Venezuela. I went through this transgenderism nightmare in my own house. The agenda was pushed so hard in the schools and youth - parents can't do anything. They give the kids 'therapy' and start the process without parental consent in CAN. All I can do is PRAY
AND tell them that there are lies and there is the truth. These are the lies (men can be women and vise verse) and these are the truths (in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Male and female He created them). We have been led to believe that we are to "Leave it up to the professionals", perpetuated on American Education by John Dewey and his progressive/communist sympathies. Take your children's education in to your own hands. Like Rod had recounted, you can't control what happens in society at large but you can control what happens inside these four walls.
Oh wow! I had no idea. But I recently learned that in Canada, if a child 14yrs old or over wants to change their gender & the parents interfere, the parents can be prosecuted for "abuse" and child removed from the home. Some ppl have no doubt that America will soon follow suit. I hope and pray that never happens. I'm glad my kids are grown so they don't have to deal with school anymore. Seems it's very trendy to be transgender. So much so- that the kids who are not cheering that on are ridiculed, or atleast not "cool" or whatever the term is now for acceptable.
I'm learning that we must always fall back on love. Love draws us closer to truth. I watched a friend go through the same situation as you are going through Christine. Heart wrentching. Agree - Rod's book is critical reading for Christians as we go through this season of cancel culture and anti-Christian bias... I've read it once on my Kindle, am now re-reading a hard copy, and plan to do it as a study with members of the church I pastor.

I only first discovered it about a month ago, and there where moments where I literally had to put the book down and contemplate because some of the stuff Dreher predicts is so eerily on point that it really does make me want to contribute to the parallel polis. Extremely on point, there are some fascinating lines that are so extremely relevant for the world of beyond-2020.

I grew up in Soviet Russian, the comparisons and conclusions made here a huge logical jump. CRT is pretty regularly mis represented by most evangelicals without ever bringing in Christians who can explain how or what of CRT is compatible with a biblical world view. I ask this with all sincerity but are you able to make the distinction between the individual anxiousness we feel when confronted with those who are different--a result of our fallen nature--versus racism as an official doctrine of societal institutions? I once asked a college professor to please identify a governmental, corporate, or academic entity that promoted racism as evidence of a systemic problem. He could not. My husband grew up in a former communist country and part of my family in East Berlin and both families suffered terribly under the regime. Politics and patriotism can become like another religion and leaders almost idolised as messianic/ saviour figures. It’s a serious problem but it’s not just a problem of the left. You see it on both the right and the left of the political spectrum. We have to remember Jesus’s kingdom is not of this world. He is our only King.

A decision needs to be made: Convenience and safety are good, but these things are more important than convenience and safety. Which sets you apart from both society and church.
@@elwoodblues9613 If we had more people doing faith healing then this virus would not be an issue at all, but people do not call on Christ enough to heal others. Faith healing is a real thing, but it just needs to be applied more. And if Christians were to follow all of the health guidelines that are in the Bible, then we would be healthy enough to where the virus would not be as much a worry as it is right now. Also, going to church does not get people to heaven, a strong connection with God which can only come through prayer and Christian meditation as well as following the two greatest commandments can get someone to heaven. Hopefully people begin to pray and meditate for hours, because this is a good habit to have, church is nice, but individuals go to heaven, not groups.

Christianity and free thought was outlawed and in most cases carried the death penalty. Dr. Cesar Vidal, from Spain, now living in Florida, is a Lawyer, historian, Theologian, journalist, and I forget the rest of his achievements; explains Marxism, Critical Theory and Liberation Theology in great detail. Some of his material is in English. Most of America needs to train itself on a steady diet of truth.

In 1991, my wife and I travelled to Romania to adopt our first child. That was 2 years after the revolution. The sights and sounds will never leave me. We were in Bucharest for 3 weeks. What Rod said at the end of the video struck me deeply. My wife and I were in a small one bedroom apartment. It was late July 1991. The heat was unbearable. We had very little to eat. We both lost 15 pounds during that three week period. We had many challenges and road blocks that threatened to keep us from completing our mission to bring this little 4 and a half month old child to Canada. What Rod said was so true about being dependent on the Lord for everything. We were never so isolated and alone from our support networks. And yet we were never so close to hearing and seeing God work and answer our prayers at times that seemed impossible to get through. Jesus knows what is happening and He will walk with us through the coming storm! He will sustain us as we cling to truth and stand up against the enemy!

Yes, but there are also many pastors that are learning this. As a pastor, we are to focus on teaching God's Word, sharing the Gospel, strengthening the church, counseling, ministry for all ages, funerals, weddings and so on. Encourage pastors and leaders to consider good discussions like this, many are just good Christians who are working on figuring these things out just like everyone else. There is a lot of things going on. Thankfully, the pastors that are seeking to please others will be easier to discern.

The Liberal Theology that denies the truths of the Bible, miracles, etc was what most church pastors believed in Germany as the Nazis were just coming to power. My point is to inform, encourage and challenge pastors because they can be a great force of good. @Victorious Spirit The catholic and Protestant church resisted Hitler’s mandate and taught their followers to not obey him either. It was even obvious back then that Hitler was doing terrible things. People did resist his decrees, people tried to help their Jewish neighbours. But of course, the Nazi regime enforced their orders and delivered strict consequences to those that disobeyed. Some Christians obviously went along with Hitler to avoid severe punishment, some continued to resist.

I live in China. The Social Credit system is not that pervasive yet. China does watch people and they have a lot of tech, but it's not integrated yet. When a foreigner crosses the border they identify you, but local police don't know you exist. You are told to register with the local police, which I do, but it is still possible to not register and they probably wouldn't know. Personally, I am much more worried about the USA business surveillance via, of which your guest speaks. The level of spying (now called marketing) that is being done in the USA is just as bad if not worse than China--and this is all done, not by Big Brother, but my Apple, Google, etc. Laws need to be passed to stop this. And alternative businesses need to be created in the market so as to avoid the monopoly that has taken place in the USA.

She became christian during the Communist regime and she told me how everything she had - books, song books, Bibles etc. - was either secretly delivered to our country or re-typed over and over on typewriters and spread amongst christians. It's so amazing to hear about my history and my culture from someone who lives on the other side of the ocean. At present time I can see that subtle social justice opression even here, it's like the whole church is melting, it's almost impossible to find a true Bible believing church here. The only true christian fellowship I have now is with my sister - so we have kinda "small group" together (if two ppl are a group lol). In 2019, I got into a discussion with a sweet delivery man was from a former Communist country (Albania, I think he said). I live in the Seattle area and we're a little ahead of the curve in converting to the new work version of Marxism. Two formerly conservative churches I've been associated with are now "social justice" churches, and the old timers are hanging on like nothing happened. It's like they attend "worship service" like it's hypnotherapy regardless of content. We Christians need to just walk away and quit churches like these, and maybe move to parts of the country that are more resistive to this. Don't worry, God doesn't lose track of you if you don't check in at a "cooperate worship service station" every Sunday.
I'm not of the Christian faith, but this message applies to many people in society who descent from the popular narrative in various ways. Thanks for sharing!

Great podcast. I was born in Venezuela and I could not agree more. Our Cubans friends use to say to us “ this is how everything started in the island “ and we said: oh that would never happen here in Venezuela. Totalitarians work patiently in the minds, schools, universities , their systematic approach is effective and scary and it works if we allow it.

I went through this transgenderism nightmare in my own house. The agenda was pushed so hard in the schools and youth - parents can't do anything. They give the kids 'therapy' and start the process without parental consent in CAN. All I can do is PRAY
AND tell them that there are lies and there is the truth. These are the lies (men can be women and vise verse) and these are the truths (in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Male and female He created them). We have been led to believe that we are to "Leave it up to the professionals", perpetuated on American Education by John Dewey and his progressive/communist sympathies. Take your children's education in to your own hands. Like Rod had recounted, you can't control what happens in society at large but you can control what happens inside these four walls.
Oh wow! I had no idea. But I recently learned that in Canada, if a child 14yrs old or over wants to change their gender & the parents interfere, the parents can be prosecuted for "abuse" and child removed from the home. Some ppl have no doubt that America will soon follow suit. I hope and pray that never happens. I'm glad my kids are grown so they don't have to deal with school anymore. Seems it's very trendy to be transgender. So much so- that the kids who are not cheering that on are ridiculed, or atleast not "cool" or whatever the term is now for acceptable.
I'm learning that we must always fall back on love. Love draws us closer to truth. I watched a friend go through the same situation as you are going through Christine. Heart wrentching. There is a fine line between loving and condoning. I pray you are able to find that balance and maintain a relationship with your child through this challenge.

Agree - Rod's book is critical reading for Christians as we go through this season of cancel culture and anti-Christian bias... I've read it once on my Kindle, am now re-reading a hard copy, and plan to do it as a study with members of the church I pastor.

Not ony does this apply to the Cultural Marxists, but also to those who propagate the Dominionist 'Seven Mountains' Theology in the New Apostolic Reformation movement.

Yes!! I only first discovered it about a month ago, and there where moments where I literally had to put the book down and contemplate because some of the stuff Dreher predicts is so eerily on point that it really does make me want to contribute to the parallel polis. Extremely on point, there are some fascinating lines that are so extremely relevant for the world of beyond-2020.

I grew up in Soviet Russian, the comparisons and conclusions made here a huge logical jump. CRT is pretty regularly mis represented by most evangelicals without ever bringing in Christians who can explain how or what of CRT is compatible with a biblical world view. And this ultimately dismisses all believers who desire justice or equality (both biblical concepts) as “woke, sjw, crt racists” causing more division. Alissa I love your channel and heart and I pray you really make it an effort to speak to folks who disagree with you, just occasionally. I’m not a “progressive christian”, a democrat or advocate for CRT but goodness the flippant approach to these topics is going to cause more fear and division than reconciliation... which I think will ultimately be a self fulfilling prophecy Christians in the west have with this persecution complex.

Although CRT proponents say they want justice and equality, it is not the same justice and equality we see in the Scriptures. Also, we shouldn't be so afraid of division. Unity at the expense of truth isn't our goal
I ask this with all sincerity but are you able to make the distinction between the individual anxiousness we feel when confronted with those who are different--a result of our fallen nature--versus racism as an official doctrine of societal institutions? I once asked a college professor to please identify a governmental, corporate, or academic entity that promoted racism as evidence of a systemic problem. He could not. For him CRT was an abstraction that made him feel a virtuous and caring person.
I've been looking forward to this! His book Live Not By Lies is a must-read.

My husband grew up in a former communist country and part of my family in East Berlin and both families suffered terribly under the regime.
Politics and patriotism can become like another religion and leaders almost idolised as messianic/ saviour figures. It’s a serious problem but it’s not just a problem of the left. You see it on both the right and the left of the political spectrum.
We have to remember Jesus’s kingdom is not of this world. He is our only King.

Every time I hear a loved one say something like "let them _____ I have nothing to hide" it just makes me cringe at how ignorant they are.
Much more than harmony, people seek convenience. Abortion is about convenience. Justification for abortion is the stone thrown in the pond that effects how we regard life in every way. Killing the most innocent makes any killing easy and how we regard each other in general.
People get so angry over sins like abortion but not over sins like when you don’t treat others how you want to be treated. Nothing against you, but it’s like the smaller sins are nearly completely ignored today.
Americans worship convenience. It's why nearly every church in the San Francisco Bay Area shut down in mid-2020; it was too inconvenient to defy the unlawful mandates and reorder their lives & structures to gather as the Family of God. And "Stay safe" was the mantra, shoving the Gospel and the Constitution to the side "until this is all over." I felt like I was in the middle of Corrie Ten Boom's "The Hiding Place": "What is a Christian to do when evil is in power?"
A decision needs to be made: Convenience and safety are good, but these things are more important than convenience and safety. Which sets you apart from both society and church.
@@elwoodblues9613 If we had more people doing faith healing then this virus would not be an issue at all, but people do not call on Christ enough to heal others. Faith healing is a real thing, but it just needs to be applied more. And if Christians were to follow all of the health guidelines that are in the Bible, then we would be healthy enough to where the virus would not be as much a worry as it is right now. Also, going to church does not get people to heaven, a strong connection with God which can only come through prayer and Christian meditation as well as following the two greatest commandments can get someone to heaven. Hopefully people begin to pray and meditate for hours, because this is a good habit to have, church is nice, but individuals go to heaven, not groups.
Note to anyone freaking out: @@djjnh6141 is not writing about the meditation where you empty your mind and become one with some force. Biblical meditation is quite mind-intensive, focusing on a truth in the Scriptures, letting the Holy Spirit guide you into the deep truths found in that Scripture. Basically, not just getting into the Word, but letting the Word (both logos and rhema) get into you. Because, when it comes down to it, Jesus Christ IS the truth (John 14:6).

Alisa, I've a friend, which happens to be a Pastor, from Cuba, and I learned from him the reality of living in totalitarianism. Christianity and free thought was outlawed and in most cases carried the death penalty. Dr. Cesar Vidal, from Spain, now living in Florida, is a Lawyer, historian, Theologian, journalist, and I forget the rest of his achievements; explains Marxism, Critical Theory and Liberation Theology in great detail. Some of his material is in English. Most of America needs to train itself on a steady diet of truth.
I'm currently reading this book. It is so eye-opening. Every Christian does need to read this and pay attention to what Mr Dreher is alerting us to. God bless.

I love what he said at the end about suffering. When my husband of 10 years, threw a cure ball and dager into my heart, with an affair and divorce papers, over 10 years ago. My heart broke. It still hurts to think back. Yet in that very dark painful time, I pressed into my Faith, knowing it was my life line. And I always say, its a time I wouldn't trade with the Lord to have everything back as " normal"...He promises to be with us in persecutions and when we are hated and reviled. He sure was there, I can testify....shared this with my fellow Pilgrims as we journey forward into difficult times. Thank you❤
Looking forward to reading the book. Not sure if Alisa and Rod are familiar with Fr Seraphim Rose's work on nihilism and humanism. He explains how these idelogies have been the basis for new more toxic anti-God ideologies taking us down. Thank you for your work, from an Eastern Orthodox Christian whose some family members lived thru the red terror. The old ones whose lives were affected always taught that it was a spiritual battle of evil vs God. Glory to the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit forever.
