Ocarina of Time is what got me to like Zelda. I was aware of Zelda in the late 80s, but never tried any of the games until Link to the Past. I only played 20 minutes of it and gave up (I played it on my uncle SNES) due to getting lost so easily. I wasn't used to that type of gameplay yet. So when this game got announced, I wanted to try it, but I knew I was going to get a Player's Guide. Yes I am not ashamed to admit that I used the Player's Guide (my younger brother chewed me out a bit, but I didn't care). I was in HS by then too keep in mind. It's actually why I didn't hate the Water Temple too because even back then in the 90s, I heard classmates who played the game said they hated the Water Temple. I really enjoyed this game and it's also the reason why I got a 3DS when it got remastered (I still prefer the original N64 version, it was easier on my hands). If I had to rank this against other Zelda games I completed though, I'd rank 4th though. Still has my fav Zelda Sidequest though, that Biggoron Sword quest lol. Here's how I'd rank the dungeons (I am going in order of the game btw)- Deku Tree- B- Out of the child dungeons this one is my fav and as far as beginning Zelda dungeons, it's also good. I remember being terrified learning I was going into a dungeon so quickly, but it's a walk in the park. FYI, I still have this game memorized so I don't need a player's guide anymore haha. Dondongo's Cavern- C- This one is okay. It's not good, but it's not bad either. Worst part is trying to get that one bomb flower on that small ledge to blow something up. That go frustrating. Inside Lord Jabu Jabu- D- Yeah if it wasn't for Ruto, this dungeon would be at a higher rank. I will also add that having Farore's Wind by this point is a lifesaver too, it's probably one of my fav things in this game. I hate that mini-boss too. But the boss itself is good and I love the boomerang. Forest Temple (Shields up)- D- Yeah here's my hot take, I don't like this dungeon, but it didn't start out that way. In beginning, I thought it was okay, but having replayed this game so many times, I got tired of this dungeon due to how much retreading I had to do, which is why Farore's Wind became a lifesaver again. Only thing I love about this dungeon is the boss (it's what's preventing it from reaching f tier). This is actually the worse dungeon in the game for me personally. Needless to say, Zelda's "Forest Dungeons" got better after this in my opinion. Fire Temple- A- As a rule I generally do NOT like "Fire Levels", Zelda's fire dungeons tend to be the exception and this is a classic example of it. I really enjoy this dungeon a lot, but not initially. It was like the polar opposite of what happened with the Forest Temple, I wasn't a big fan of it at first because it was challenging at times, but then over time, I did learn some tricks on my own that enhanced the gameplay and I also loved saving the Gorons too. Only part I am still not a fan of is the area where you get the Megaton Hammer, I hate time limit sections and I have to move quickly over a narrow walkway that circles, oi! Yeah I do have Farore's wind spell up just in case I slip and fall (which I have in the past). But yeah great dungeon for me. Ice Cavern- C- Definition of forgettable, I completely forgot about this one, but when I do think it, I do like it, that's why it's still C tier. It's also because I like Ice levels lol. One moment I do remember loving too, is this is the place you learn the Serenade of Water, which is one of my fav Zelda songs of all time and my fav of this game, and combine that with the environment of this dungeon, it was just magic. But still the dungeon felt way too short for me. Water Dungeon- B- I had no issues with Iron Boots either since you do that throughout the whole game anyway. The puzzles are half and half for me, some I enjoy others I didn't. I originally hated the Shadow Link fight, but when I started getting the Biggoron Sword, I started getting before this dungeon (it's the earliest you can get it since you have to unfreeze King Zora). But this dungeon feels a bit too big at times, but it still good. People may hate how easy the boss it, but that's what I like about it lol. Bottom of the Well- D- I don't like this dungeon because I feel it's a drag to explore, if you decide to explore it. What saves this from F tier is on how short it is, just get the Lens of Truth and get out of there (I instantly teleport out of there). At least you have a reason for going to this dungeon. Shadow Temple- S- Love it and I like how linear it is. 2nd fav dungeon in the game and Bongo Bongo is still my fav Zelda boss too. It's just a fun challenge. Only reason why it's not S+ in the one obstacle of getting through those blades that drop on you quickly and you have to time it right. But that's more of an annoyance. Love using the Lens of Truth and those new boots you get. Gerudo Training Grounds- No Rank- I never did this dungeon. My brother played this game before me and he told me that the Ice Arrow is pretty useless in the game since it's not mandatory, so I never played this dungeon so I can't rank it. I will say this, if you are going create a dungeon, you need to have a reason for it being there. The Ice arrow is cool (in other games), but it needs to be purposeful. That's just my opinion though. Spirit Temple- S+ - Yeah best dungeon in the game, my 3rd fav Zelda dungeon. Atmosphere and music are amazing, I like how you pretty much have to use all of your items in the game, both as Child and Adult Link. Nabooru is great, I love the bosses (Iron Knuckles here is my fav Zelda Mini-boss). I honestly can't think of a single flaw. Only reason why it ranks 3rd overall, is I enjoyed the other dungeons more, mostly because they took something I normally hate and made me love them. Ganon's Tower- B- Again, good, but not great. There were parts I enjoyed, and parts I didn't enjoy. This dungeon would have been A rank if it wasn't for one major section (even though it made sense story wise), the point where you're fleeing the tower before it collapses. The Ganondorf fight was fine, it wasn't as hard as his Phantom in the Forest Temple. Plus the Ganon fight, you expect something epic (the song there was amazing) and I can see why it would be scared if you went in blindly, but it's one of the easiest final bosses in gaming if you ask me due to 2 tricks- 1 the Biggoron sword and 2- you don't even need to use your Light arrows, just doing a basic roll under Ganon when he lifts up his weapons to hit you with. The fact that I can save magic and arrows to do this, yeah it's cheating, but hey that's fine lol. Overall I still like OOT's Dungeons. And this was a fun video too, I really enjoy these and I love hearing others' opinions too, it's why I like countdowns.
Absolutely no judgment for using a guide when you were younger haha, I totally did too 😂😂 The first I beat was Link Between Worlds and then I played the OG, Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Minish Cap, and then BOTW and Tears. I have found I'm much more of a 2D Zelda guy, at least with the ones I've played so far haha. But I still really liked this game, just not as much as many 😅 wish it was like a magical game for me but it's still really solid, I don't think it's like super overrated, it's just not my favorite 😅
Totally agree with the child dungeons! Dude love the hot take, thanks for sharing! It's always boring to me when people have the same opinions, that's what makes tier lists special for me. 😅 I had the opposite experience, it was really mid to me the first time but the second time it was much better for me 😅 Definitely can get around the thought that there are better like Forest type dungeons in the series
Glad you enjoyed the Fire Temple! I wish I liked it more haha. Definitely agree tho, Zelda dungeons do them well. Loved the Link's Awakening Turtle Rock dungeon especially!
@@Nafysatnaf bro I don't care 😂 I'm the last person who gives a crap about being right 100% of the time lol, thanks for mentioning the boss! It's truly awesome! Still prefer Dark Link from Zelda II tho, geez, now that's a final boss!

The effects of Jabu Jabu are S+ tier- that crap still blows my mind. But yeah kinda a trash dungeon. Bottom of the well still gives me nightmares- 18 years after playing it for the first time I still think about those scary mummies that hop on my back and suck my blood.
