Thank you for the inspiration. I wanted to give my friend a painting of a thistle for her birthday. I painted a pale background scene and then the thistle in the foreground.
Beautiful! I can't wait to try this. I remember doing the magnolia blossom along with you and it turned out pretty good. The soft background here is so so pretty. Have a wonderful day!😊
Merci Harriet, je ne savais pas que l on pouvait utiliser du fluide de masquage sur de l aquarelle déjà peinte sans que ça enlève la couleur initiale. J ai beaucoup appris avec cette vidéo. Douce soirée à vous de la France. 🙀💜
I like this way to fill in a background on an existing painting. I have always been unable to plan how to paint background first or flower! You've got it figured out! Thanks!
Ooh this is great..... I didn’t know you could use masking fluid over the paint! Definitely one to try out. Thanks Harriet for the tip. Gorgeous effect by the way 😁🙏

I learned at least 2 things from this tutorial, you mask over paint and that you can do a beautiful background after the focal point. Thanks so much!
So glad!
Oh my gosh! I had no idea you could put masking fluid over watercolor paint that has dried. You are a genius and thank you for sharing!
So beautiful! You are so talented and a great teacher!

Thank you for sharing. Good to know these tips. I would love to know how you get a good centre in a flower. How do you make the seeds pop?
Intristing
Thanks for new tidbit of info. What!?!? You can put masking fluid over painted item!
Yes you can!
Thank you for this video!
How fast you have to paint in this one...
Wouldn’t it be much easier to use some frisket masking film vs the masking fluid?
Thanks for sharing!!!
It may have been easier to mask the paper first, then do the background, and finally paint the flower.
that was very helpful, thank you
