It's definitely all about stocking up over time and buying the things that you and your family eat on a regular basis.
Our food storage has saved us multiple times. From severe weather that kept us from getting to the store for a few days (has happened a few times) to a medical issue that made getting to the grocery store nearly impossible for about a month, to that certain "event" that happened in 2020 and kept us all at home for an extended period. We were able to stay away from the stores for a month. Even after that it was mostly a milk run and picking up fresh fruit & veggies. We were in and out of the store very quickly.

Not just food. Also when household staples to on sale, buy an extra. Paper towels, cleaning products, light bulbs, windshield wipers etc. Having a spare available is handy.

Such great advise . Even a few cans a week add up.

For short term supplies . I'd get a case or two of chili , beef stew , beans and some canned veggies like corn , mixed veggies . Soups . Some pork rinds and some sugar treats like cookies and snack cakes like lil Debbie cream cakes , twinkies and of course water . Watching this movie with Forest Whittaker and Theo James called How It ends lol

Not the best foods, but I agree with the overall message.

You can buy things like canned tuna, canned chicken, corn, beef, good Hardy, soups, macaroni and cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, and bottled water in case your water gets somehow shut off or contaminated and toilet paper😮😊😅😂

The point is to stock the foods that YOU eat. He's not saying to go buy cheerios and a big tub of peanut butter. The point is to have a backup supply of what you eat on a regular basis, not to follow his grocery list.

You are absolutely correct! But I'm sure you get the point :)
