- My boring white DIY kitched underwent a huge makeover that literally cost me 25$ only! From boring white and bland to colourful with character beign painted OIL CLOTH BENJAMIN MOORE. I LOVE the outcome as it is much more reflective of our style and will be so much more cheery in the gloomy winters and rainy seasons here in Nova Scotia!

The sketch idea was my suggestion! I think with your talent you could make it a real memorable sketch/picture. Then in 20 (or however many) years when the trees are all big and grown, you will be able to look at their “baby pictures”. Just love your sweet family and all the cool things at the homestead. 💜

I liked how crisp and clean the white was. It was a blank canvas waiting for you to use. The green is lovely. The green defines and showcases your custom cabinets but also pays homage to the vintage architecture of your home. It's just perfect. Well done, Elysia. Well done.

The kitchen looks beautiful. The only thing I noticed that would make a huge difference is if the two white shelves above your little coffee tea cart were natural wood and not white it would pull everything together with the other natural wood elements you have in that room

My kitchen is just a shade darker and I love it. I live in a moble home and the cabinets were needing a touch up. I fell in love with this color. I painted the walls this green. The trim a few shades darker and a pale shade of the same color. Three different values of the same color. The panels in the doors are an aluminum (silver) on the bottom and I replaced them on top with plexiglass. The floor is a rich brown. I built a 12 ft X 18 inch cabinet along one wall and painted it and the drawer fronts the lightest value of the same green. It just makes me feel good!

I adore the color of the cabinets! Your kitchen is so large that it really brings the color alive. Please don’t paint the laundry cabinets green though. Your laundry area is much smaller than the kitchen and I’m afraid that it will make the laundry room look crowded, especially with the sunflowers, which I love. Your bee is so precious too. You might check out a grout paint for the tile in the laundry area. I used it in our bathroom, loved it.
I saw somewhere that steaming is the best way to clean grout.

Definitely use logs from the land to make raised beds. Surely you have seen others do this with good success.

They look gorgeous! Nicely done! In your pantry, if you do paint the tiles with marine paint, I would also take the sink out and paint the edges of the countertop where you made the cut out for sink with the marine paint. It will stay cleaner and look crisper!

Honestly, I really like the white in the laundry room, but you've done a great job in the kitchen! Have you considered hanging a wreath on the vented hood? I saw that on another channel and it looked fabulous!

It's so awesome to see the green grass! If you can grow lilacs where you are, you should. I've discovered recently that they are edible, and you can use the flowers to infuse honey (and sugar). They can also be dried for tea or put fresh in salads. Plus, they're SO fragrant!
