I love knowing that the community is still doing their best to keep the game alive. Surely Valve or another studio will pick up the franchise again and perhaps renew it for current gen
I feel the redisgn of the characters should be worn out versions of their current outfits (torn clothing, blood stains, bandages, holsters, etc). The newer outfits look like something they would wear after months or years in the apocalypse and it kinda breaks the immersion since it's only been a couple of weeks since the infected (if I'm remembering correctly) but other than that it looks really cool!
not sure why but i think the redesign feel like B4D with this military tactical stuff, i guess that why valve don't like it and redesign the L4D1 Beta characters , it's kindna cover up the character personality, there is a good outfit mod where the character outfit change during the 5 campaigns like Nick lost his white jacket and Ellis lost his hat during Swamp Fever
For the l4d2 survivors their redesign could work from a lore point after the mall. Since when they get in they could find that. I think it’s implied that they meant each other on the roof of the apartments where as the l4d survivors already known each other for some time. Cool redesigns though, I wish they could make an new version of this game one day
@Quandale Dingle The 3rd They did, that's why they're trying to get evacuated at the beginning of Dead Center (1st campaign). They knew about the zombies and were probably surviving each by themselves untill they met at the failed apartment complex evacuation and they had to stick together

The l4d1 survivors never encountered the specials until they were recently made. So the same could’ve applied to the new survivors, especially the charger, spitter, and Jockey. Even the l4d1 survivors had strange reactions to seeing those three.

Not everything has too look like a militarize commando shooter. Part of the appeal to L4D are common citizens banding together for survival. Regular outfits, unique dialogue that really has character. It gives the characters appeal and depth

@@FlizeStorm after looking back at them, the l4d1 redesign fits in pretty nicely, although I feel as if it removes a bit of personality is still removed. The only issue I see with these reskins is that they feel like generic zombie survivor characters rather than real people. Theres no issue with characters being designed around surviving an apocalypse, and I do agree this is one of the best reskins for them. Great video, the editing was spectacular and the presentation was spot on.
I feel like without shaders it's more realistic because It adds more atmosphere of apocalyptic but with shaders it's more shiny and doesnt make you feel like you are in a zombie apocalypse
Yeah… and also let's not forget L4D2 is trying to look like a zombie movie and not an actual, realistic, apocalypse. Each map's color correction palette was picked by valve to accentuate the atmosphere they were going for

Dude Left 4 Dead 3 is so a possibility with these enhancements, that all sequals are, emhancements with a new story. Trust, if a Left 4 Dead 3 Teaser Trailer released out of nowhere by Valve, it would be #1 most anticipated 2023 game of the year. It would not flop at all.

It's insane to look at L4D2 in 2009 and realise it's more polished and looks better than many videogames coming out today. Even games that are trying to recreate the L4D formula.
this is not only realistic, in terms of textures, it also didn't go out of hand with the graphics settings too man really nailed the video with the clean editing and excellent modding taste
Hey thank you for the advice and the compliment. I think we just need to wait for Valve to finally release something after awhile :'(. Other company's Left 4 Dead replacement just doesn't same like what's Back 4 Blood give us.
I'm also making my Left 4 Dead 2 more realistic by using 4k or realistic steam workshop mods but my game is always crashing at some chapters because other mods conflicts to each other but I can still manage to play them. Cool video by the way!
I also go through a hard time not to get the mods in my collection to conflict with each other and now I think it's safe to say my mods collection is free from conflict. But Unfornutealy, I still can crash sometimes when I alt-tab it. Overall, Left 4 Dead 2 really have good features that let you know what's mods that get conflict compare to gmod which you can't haha
The game'll never die. L4D2 is a perfect example of a game kept alive by its community and it'll always be one of our favorites. Nice to see arby26's animation work still being appreciated and used today :D

The original designs are iconic. These redesigns are stylish but express no character and have poor contrast to separate each survivor as an individual. They went from being a group of misfits to being interchangeable template people.
Imagine if these weapons were ran with more realistic or more impressive sounds; like the sound packs from Killzone 2-3 and Medal of Honor 2010. I especially like that Bill is wearing a rugged and kind of tweaked version of his Vietnam era outfit. Like he added more modern elements to it to try and make it look more up to snuff. This was cool to watch and I hope you do more with it.

If you don't want to do that: I'm sure one of the literal hundred thousand addons in the workshop will at the very least improve your experience the way you're looking for
Tbf I think it's to show they've been surviving since 2008-9, or that they're in a different campaign (i.e. Yama, SB2) and they've decided to loot off soldiers Plus, L4D1 survivors in gear is more believable during the Sacrifice, since they were in a military train, who's to say that there weren't vests or helms in there?
Still have no idea why Valve never gave us a 3rd. The first two games remastered and a new installment maybe centred around the Midnight Riders would be legendary.
I always thought the default looks were pretty realistic for a zombie game. Their outfits are what they just happened to be wearing during the outbreak. They most likely would not have had time to prepare and probably wouldn't find body armor so easily.

Left 4 Dead 2 is such a masterpiece. the base game is fun, the graphics are good especially for when it was made, still has a good community and has mods that are super easy to access

Realistically they're civilians, so no tactical gear for them is realistic. Literally half the scenarios in game make more sense in a survivor's attempt to escape, not military or operators. Like for real go play a tactical zombie game or least stick to custom maps in this regard, just pointless

Not to mention your telling me it makes sense for civilians to some how get military gear that wasn't even deployed with all troops and not to mention the national guard, realilistic wise it just doesn't make sense, as someone who appreciates realilistic shelters or tactical games, you can not just throw in cosmetics to an already thought out game and claim this is making it realilistic.

I try a MW mods for my guns, Blue Archive and Girls Frontline mods that has a 3rd person perspective and fist (melee), realistic mods that has a first person perspective pins but your mods that you showcase to us is absolutely astonishing and breathtaking. THIS IS MASTERPIECE
this was a great video and I personally haven't picked up the game yet but now I know what mods I want for when I do (also, there's a song by this guy named geneburn called intermezzo that would've gone really well with this)

I thought I was one of the only ones playing with no hud / crosshair on here. It also works amazingly well in Days Gone, especially with the Mod that lets you re-add the hud in the click of whatever key you want.

Love it. When it comes to weapons, my favorite has to be the Complete Overhaul. Extremely powerful guns.
It's a good option for those who are lazy enough or is tired to search for weapon replacement and script mods.

Realistically they're civilians, so no tactical gear for them is realistic. Literally half the scenarios in game make more sense in a survivor's attempt to escape, not military or operators. Like for real go play a tactical zombie game or least stick to custom maps in this regard, just pointless

@@GrubKiller436 Sure but that doesn't suit the need for civilians to be outfitted into military gear or trained within such short periods to like "make it to safety" in either scenario. Not to mention your telling me it makes sense for civilians to some how get military gear that wasn't even deployed with all troops and not to mention the national guard, realilistic wise it just doesn't make sense, as someone who appreciates realilistic shelters or tactical games, you can not just throw in cosmetics to an already thought out game and claim this is making it realilistic.

I try a MW mods for my guns, Blue Archive and Girls Frontline mods that has a 3rd person perspective and fist (melee), realistic mods that has a first person perspective pins but your mods that you showcase to us is absolutely astonishing and breathtaking. THIS IS MASTERPIECE
this was a great video and I personally haven't picked up the game yet but now I know what mods I want for when I do (also, there's a song by this guy named geneburn called intermezzo that would've gone really well with this)

I thought I was one of the only ones playing with no hud / crosshair on here. It also works amazingly well in Days Gone, especially with the Mod that lets you re-add the hud in the click of whatever key you want.
Not a bad concept, love it.

Why is the definition of realistic in video games just tactical military shooters like I wish it was just the normal game but with better models and textures and stuff and maybe some more features to make it more fun

my biggest issue is lack of consistency with animations. really needs a single focused team of animators to tie it all together especially the guns
