My brother and I played through this game like 6 times when we got it.. the way we found out it was possible is that HIS save file had the Level 0 glitch. I was slightly further than him and we’d watch each other play as we took turns.. I got through the Gades fight, got my ass kicked and moved on through the story. I went out and spent the night at a friend’s house.. when I came home the next day he was way past where I was. He showed me the stats screen and how broken his Maxim was, I was so jealous of the Gades Blade he had from beating him.. worst of all he had no idea how he even did the glitch in the first place. I started over and grinded a ridiculous amount to beat him and get my own Gades Blade since I knew that would be the reward. 🤣 wish I had as much time for stupid stuff like that nowadays! Good memories though ❤
Great Story :) I feel you, i wish i also had more time to play nowadays. The next FF is out and i didnt even play the FFVII Remake nor did i finish the new Zelda TotK...
I remembered playing this game back in the 90s after finishing my night shifts. I could not go back to sleep and kept playing until I needed to go back to work again. This was an amazing game. Lufia 1 is also great. Never had a chance to play the other Lufia games.
Well, kid me managed it fairly easily by equipping the iq ring on guy. He could usually take 2 hits from Gades before dying, using the best gear. It took a long time but I was never in damger of losing. Seeing a strategy where everyone lives is very impressive. Young me had no mastery of buffinf and debiffing but did have a lot of grit:)
Doing it with Guy solo is equally impressive! To be fair, buffing and debuffing is not often implemented effectively in JRPGs. Most of the time, it is just easier (and faster) to just burst down enemies.
I eventually ended up having this setup ten years ago. The major difference was that I gave Guy the light knife. All senestrals are weak to the light element, if you use the anger brace or mini shield to cast battle lust on guy then he will deal 300ish damage per swing. There is no point in using the light knife's Ip ability because it will deal the same amount of damage as a regular swing.
Thank you for the hint, i will check it out later. I think i still have my save file. I am wondering if the dmg Output will be higher without a strong ip attack though.
Yup, that is exactly what I am about to try, aka using the Light Dagger w Guy & putting the Undead Ring on Maxim instead while he has the Cold Dagger. That is pretty weird though about the 1.5x IP attack doing the same damage as a regular attack... I wonder why that would be?
I've read on several occasions that IP attacks often ignore elementar attack modifiers and do normal damage instead. Think sonething like that is also true for the octo-strike.
Honestly at that point, the real threat becomes Gades regular attack. Which is strong enough to 1 hit KO Tia. I did this battle at around lv28, and she was consistently able to survive at single digit HP. Mind, I was not debuffing his ATK, or buffing my own DEF... If you have the Spido Jewel, it has a powerful IP Attack that flattens Gades AGL. Use it once, and your whole party can act before Gades does. Unfortunately, the Spido Jewel itself is a rare drop off that spider boss from earlier. You can find more from Blue Chests in the Ancient Cave, but that's later on in the game...
I thought Egg Dragon was the big challenge for this game, had no idea this was a thing despite playing the game since it came out. Looks like I'll be doing this on my next playthrough
Amazing that he can be beaten at such a low level. Trying to do it without the Spido jewel at the same low ish level ... ha! Now that'd be a challenge. Finally beaten in my recent return on normal mode mainly due to being lv 35. I grinded up bee rocks for lv4+ capsule monsters before the fight lol
Yeah i was also surprised. You get the feeling that the developers specifically gave you the required items like the mind and undead ring beforehand in order to use them during the fight. It would be tough without any of those, especially the mind and speedy rings.
Well under 4x exp I only hit lv 30 lvs higher then that and the EXP on the way to him here SUCKS and I Still did NOT survive his opening Destructo Wave attack AT lv 30 at all.
Honestly, Destructo Wave is the least of your worries in this fight. The thing that is the biggest threat is him physically attacking one of the girls early in the fight before you can do any buffing/debuffing, cus that will most definitely mean an instantly dead party member unless you are vastly overleveled.
@@TobiContinued93 I did the battle & it was honestly a cakewalk. Once you buff everyone & debuff him it's no sweat. I also equipped the thing that let's you reduce his Intelligence which reduces the damage Destructo Wave does. Also put the bright dagger on Guy. He was doing around 100 w his normal attack & 200 w the 1.5x IP strike of the knife, which makes no sense lol. Dunno how it was doing double damage
I did the fight yesterday and after some attempts and afterwards succeeding I had to do some testing. Turns out buffing your INT doesn't make healing spells heal more, it only works for offensive spells. Kind of like some IP attacks doesn't get buffs from things like berserker (notoriously the elemental x1,5 don't get buffed but the x3 ones do)
Hey, thanks for the comment. Gaining levels of course helps to survive the tricky first two rounds when Gades can potentially one-shot your Supports. Farming the core enemies always feels so disheartening when 90% of them flee. But man, the level ups you get when you manage to kill three or more in one fight though... :)
@@TobiContinued93 I’ve been to the bottom a bunch of times. Been playing since I think 1996. We rented it from blockbuster and never gave it back and just paid the crazy high price for it. The best time to do it is when your party is Maxim, Selan, Dekar, and Guy. Need any pointers on getting there?
Well, i certainly plan to do the ancient cave soon and finally complete it. I may also want to do a video about it, so I would appreciate any general tips that i can use and implement. But i will probably do it with the late game party setup of Maxim, Guy, Selan and Arty.
@@TobiContinued93 it’s easier with Dekar. Arty has his advantages like light magic if you find it. Main thing is if you find a Dekar blade. The IP attack takes your enemy down to half. It’s a good one for that battle. Maxim and selan get a deadly sword/deadly rod (in the description it say “an ominous looking sword/rod). Those ones can one shot the golden, silver, bronze dragons as well as orkys and a bunch of other stuff. I usually would play the cave until I have 2 fry swords 1 for Guy and 1 for Dekar. The flaming skull type enemies are immune to lightning damage and dark magic so Maxim and Selan are out aside from casting. That’s why a sky sword won’t do any good for that part. It’s nice to have though in case you want to switch out weapons. Hopefully along the way you find a couple curselifters. The deadly swords IP does 1/6 of enemies HP and the deadly rod does 1/8 if I remember right. That means your first round attack will be 1/6, 1/8, 1/2, and octo strike from Guy using Gades Blade. That’s just the way I did it. I made it a point to clear every floor on the way down though. I would also hold off on the cursed weapons until I had a curse lifter or it was too difficult for me to continue without the one shot ability. Use the light capsule monster and everything else is hoping to get the right things.
Wow thank you, thats a lot of good info. I guess i will try it in the next days. I wonder if still have a save file with dekar... do you have a rough idea how long a run will take if you do every floor completely?
I managed to kill him with a full party at LVL 22 . Made a challenge out of it xD. By the way it is verry helpful to get some statues from the gambling machines. It heals every party member 200 hp
Do you also cover and or make strategy for more recent game? Because i've ben struggling with Wandering Sword and can't seem to find much info on it even on steam. :(
Thank you for asking, but I will mostly stick to older games as they are normally shorter and I know them better. There might be an occasional video about a newer game, but only if I am all over it. Unfortunately, Wandering Sword will probably not be one of them. Sorry but I'd rather be honest with you.
Took what felt like a half an hour to pull it off, but I managed it. Thanks for the winning strategy. Although I do have one question: Where the hell did you find a Bee Rock before this fight? Because I couldn't find it anywhere and had to improvise to get Tia's speed up.
Well well well then, my fellow lufia enthusiast, you should watch my other video on how to evolve capsule monsters because bee rocks are also one of the few items to evolve a monster from Level 3 to 4 early in the game. They drop from bee enemies, i usually get them from the ruby cave, there are a couple of bee enemies there. But honestly, i am glad i could help you out. :)
He mentioned where to get them already in this video. You get them from the Bee enemies that you can fight in Ruby Cave. There's a place near the start where you can just go up & down the staircase to make one respawn over & over very quickly, so it's a pretty efficient way to farm the Bee Rocks.
I'm about to do this fight & was actually considering giving Guy the Light Dagger. Even though it's attack power is around 30 less than the Fire Dagger, it is light based & thus does double damage to Gades! It also allows me to put the Undead Ring on Maxim instead since he has the more powerful Cold Dagger with the 3x IP attack but can still get respectable damage from Guy too with that light dagger. I put all of the Anger equipment on Maxim instead of Guy. I can use both characters to deal damage this way & Guy will still have the 1.5x IP attack of the Light Dagger. Am going to try this & see how well it works. I also prefer having the Mini Shield on Tia since it has the IP ability to raise attack power which is nice, cus it means I can raise the attack of both Guy and Maxim in a single round since there will be 2 characters with that IP ability. Not really sure why you had the Small Shield on her which is a very weak early game shield. It appears you had the Mini Shield in your inventory so there was no real reason not to have it on her.
Well to be honest, my method just might not be 100% optimized. Please keep me updated on how well your attempts are going, maybe that way we can beat him much faster and/or at a lower level. Anyway, thanks for pointing it out!
Thx i take it based on your intro that you don't necessarily need to win this fight to progress the plot? I didn't realize that as I kept resetting and trying to defeat.
This game NEEDS a port to modern systems. I know there was that remake for Nintendo DS some time ago. But there are a lot of differences between it and this game. The SNES cartridge is so hard to find and I'm not technically proficient enough to play it outside of an emulator.
I also heard that the DS port was not that good and faithful. Didnt play it though. I think i got lucky with my cartridge and box, right now the prices are much higher. Would you prefer a remake or just a remaster on modern systems?
@@TobiContinued93 I think a remaster with some modern quality of life sensibilities is the best route. But, I'll take a remaster if they keep it faithful enough. This is one of my all-time favorites with the puzzles, the Ancient Cave, and art direction. However that can come about, I'll gladly give my money for it.
I think i might even prefer a completely new game, expanding or continuing the overall Story. A remaster would also be fine, they could fix a couple of small things.
@@TobiContinued93 That'd be good. Maybe they could expand into the first game (which is chronologically after 2... yay, out of order numbering). I'd be down for a whole Lufia franchise, definitely.
@@TobiContinued93 play either the Ultima Rom hack or the original SNES hard type rather than the pixel remaster. The original has such a Timeless quality music graphics everything.
Hmmm strange, I only hear good things about the pixel remasters in terms of music and graphic quality. Are there major differences between titles? People really seem to love the remaster for FFVI for example, maybe its different for FFIV...
@@TobiContinued93 I have a personal bias toward the original original script and graphics in a big way but one thing I won’t budge on is that the music in the original is superior in every way. I tried writing the link RUclips doesn’t like it Google ‘the music in ffiv what happened’ and check out the steam community discussion. I completely agree with that poster’s points He links a mod where you can mod the pixel remaster on steam to play the original ost and trust me when I say it makes a huge difference. Please play with the original OSt!!
Got it, so the original for FF IV and the Pixel Remaster for FF VI. No problem :) Thankfully I bought FF IV on ebay couple of years ago when the prices were lower.
Always gotta love winning the supposed to lose fights. It's a little bit insulting imo, that in the very next town the game lets you buy Gladius, which has the Holy Energy IP for x3 holy damage hit. If you had access to that shop before this tower, then he would be a cake walk. The first time I ever beat this fight was with Tia and Guy because Selan is usually behind in level and too fragile and slow yet to live. I honestly don't know how you got her to be so close to your other character's levels haha. Weird to frame Selan as the main healer when Tia with the Holy Wings is healing for more and is mission critical. Selan is the backup! xD I think someone has a strong bias for the 4 OG party members :3c
Honestly, I like Tia more as a character than Selan. She has a very grounded and charming personality. I guess I considered Selan the main healer because she can spam her IP heal every round, whereas Tia has a stronger heal, but can only use it every second or third round since it uses a lot of IP points. So Selan does the bulk healing and Tia helps out whenever needed.
You don't need to farm the shit out of the monsters. Just go the upper left corner near parcelyte and trigger fights on the tree tiles on the world map. (beneath the sword shrine) There you'll may find some red cores which give a lot of xp and are easy to kill.
@@TobiContinued93 on that tiles you mostly see just the red cores just grind them some of them will stay for 1 turn, just one shot them with spark with selan or tia.
Destructo wave is a Magic attack right? I believe theres an accessory at this point that ups Magic Resistance, so that might also be handy to withstand that attack?
@@TobiContinued93 Ah I see, fair nuff. You are probably right when looking at the damage numbers. Guy has pathetically low MGR while Tia's is sky high, yet the damage difference between the two was what, not even 50? That's nothing for as big a difference in MGR they had. Probably not worth boosting then.
I found it easy to beat him when you glitch out Tia, I believe it had something to do with a cursed item and going down to the bottom of the menu or something like that been a while
@@TobiContinued93 it’s been a wile but it had something to do with the option menu and sound selection to keep kept pressing right on it it should glitch out
I discovered that you could win this fight as a kid, and ever since i have endeavored to fight as long as i can whenever i run into an unwinnable fight
I know that Xenogears also has such a fight against Grahf, Chrono Trigger has the fight against Lavos in the Ocean Palace. There are probably a lot more. Maybe I will do a list. ;)
Even at lv 30 NG+ runs I STILL had his OPENING Destructo wave do OVER 300 damage to a lv 30 party whom doesn't even HAVE 300 HP to begin with so I still didn't even last 1 TURN at all.
It is its JUST not harder its just that even with 4x exp AND lv 30 party members I still had Gades here and his Destructo wave kill a Lv 30 party with it INSTANTLY.
Lufia 2 wasn't underrated it just came out to late in snes life cycle. Had it came out 1-2 years earlier it would have been a massively bigger success.
I remember when I beat Gades on my first try. I didnt know he was supposed to be a fight you're supposed to normally lose. I just thiught he was a BS boss.
I actually never did a game without killing him. I always grind the strenght potion dropped from the crab. There is also an item healing I think like 200 hp to everyone you can buy amd spam every turn for an easy win.
I have to say that I could not agree more about how incredible this game is, & how sad it is that it doesn't get talked about more. It's ABSOLUTELY one of THE best JRPG's on the system & is in the Top 3 imo! The music is incredible as is the story. I felt the story to be VERY refreshing as it lacked the usual Anime trope writing that the JRPG market is just FLOODED with, specially today. Character's actually talk like real human beings in this one & actually say what they mean for once. Ppl actually tell each other that they love each other, & have kids. I really love that. The fact that EVERYTHING JRPG seems like it's being written by Anime writers these days just makes me sick & I hate it. It's not a knock on Anime really, as Anime used to actually be pretty damned good, at least some of it was. It's more a knock on what Anime has become. Aka this stale ass genre with characters that don't look, dress, act or talk like real ppl ever would, & that has bled over into 99% of JRPG's these days & it makes me VERY rarely play a new JRPG now because of it. It's just unrelatable when characters dress, talk & act like Aliens from another planet. Or maybe it's just a Japan thing, I dunno. But it's kind of weird when Japan feels like it's becoming even MORE.... Japan, these days. If that makes any sense. It's all a bit too wacky for my tastes. I prefer stuff that is more grounded in reality, stuff & characters I can relate to.
I feel you about modern anime and JRPG, but i think the main problem for Lufia 2 (and basically every RPG on the SNES during that time) is that its compared against the gold standards, Final Fantasy 3 and Chrono Trigger. And to be honest, as much as I like the game, the story and characters are lacking in comparison. Combine that with its late release and you probably understand why it didnt get that much attention. But yeah, i find myself rarely being interested in todays JRPG or anime, but that only means that I Indulge myself in the old stuff even harder. :D
@@TobiContinued93 Wow, ya I hafta vehemently disagree man. I think the game holds up every bit as well as these "gold standard" games you speak of. To me it is a gold standard game in itself. Sure, those other games get more attention, but that's simply cus the masses don't know any better.
i dont really bother because, to even survive, you have to be overleveled (thus breaking the difficulty curve), you cant use the sword for long for storyline reasons, and its not that great anyway.
I am just playing this game again and found your video haha. The strategy shown in the video is quite cool, but for me it didn't work. Tia dies instantly with the destructo-wave, no matter what buffs she has. In the end, I fell back to using Guy to attack and Selan for healing. With a bit of luck and using miracles I could beat Gades. Funny enough, when it was the last hit, he attacked Selan, and only Guy survived and got the exp hahaha; Nice video BTW! I was still impressed I could beat him at lvl 25 (first time I beat gades at this stage was just ultra-grinding and getting to lvl 50; but that is boring)
Glad it worked in the end! Yeah i should have mentioned that the party layout plays a roll in how much damage characters receive. Thanks for the kind words btw. ;)
Sounds like your level must have been WAY too low if you were having that hard of a time, or your equipment was very old. With some common sense planning it's really not that hard of a fight, it just takes a while due to his high HP.
Hey! Sorry I also couldn't find any definite value for his agility. However, judging from my video, Tia startet with an agility of 121 and then during the first round, her agility was increased by 24 to 145 and Gades Agility was reduced by 46 and during the second round, Tia was already faster. So we could assume that Gades Agility has a maximum value of around 190, but it could be lower than that.
Hmmmm, never played the GBC version. There are too many diffeent versions on several platforms. I also need to get into the first Lufia on the SNES at some point...
@@TobiContinued93 the very first? Uhhh i recommend It, It has lots of 8 bits parameters like attacking already dead enemy ur hit Will miss instead target another enemy unless in a same group, repetitive tile background and u cannot buy revives and no save points in dungeons only un churchs
Well, you could definitely also pronounce it like Hades with a G. I like to think that the name in the japanese original, Gadesu, is inspired by the bad guy going by the same name in Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos. The design is also a little similar. ;) Could be wrong though...
This fight is actually not that hard if you're a player that actually uses their brain aka uses strategy. This is really the only place in the game where you really need to in order to win, the game is that easy. But yeah, there's really no reason that you'd need to grind as long as you use the right setup & gear.

Thank you!!! Love the first two Lufia games, and I will be trying your tips in my next play of this game to beat Gades.
Thank you for the comment! I honestly havent played Lufia 1 so far.
Tell me how your fight against Gades went. ;)
I never knew he could be beaten. Just beat him today with your help. Many thanks!
You are welcome, glad I could help. Egg Dragon is next. :)
“And the most badass boss theme you ever heard.”
It’s great, but I’ll have to give that up to Mystic Quest’s boss theme.
The mystic quest boss theme is also cool and definitely more metal.
I remembered playing this game back in the 90s after finishing my night shifts. I could not go back to sleep and kept playing until I needed to go back to work again. This was an amazing game. Lufia 1 is also great. Never had a chance to play the other Lufia games.
Amazing game indeed, but going to night shifts without any sleep sounds like a horrible idea, even for young people.
@@skins4thewin could be a bug/oversight. I assume that the IP attack causes normal (non elemental damage) damage.
Yeah thats why I definitely wanted to debuff him to decrease the level I had to be.
A rare boss drop sounds hard to get. :)
I remember grinding the casino for this fight and spamming statues to offset his damage until I whittled his health down.
Yep thats another strategy. I initially missed the Casino in Lunaria when i was a kid. :)
In a way, I feel like this is their way of making up for not having anything special for beating Gades the first time in Lufia 1.
He deserves it though, even without reward :)
I thought Egg Dragon was the big challenge for this game, had no idea this was a thing despite playing the game since it came out. Looks like I'll be doing this on my next playthrough
Considering how much work it is to even get to point of fighting the dragon, I would still call it the big challenge. :)
@@TobiContinued93 I had no idea the big bads even counted as undead until your video!
True, once you can survive his normal attacks and out-heal the destructo wave, you are basically set.
Kind of like some IP attacks doesn't get buffs from things like berserker (notoriously the elemental x1,5 don't get buffed but the x3 ones do)
Did you try it on healing spells or just the IP ability of the mind ring?
Best to get a few levels by farming the red cores near Parcelyte on top of all the setup since stat increases are random. I'd say get to high 20's.
On the plus side you can use Gades blade in the ancient cave so you’ll have a decent attacker from the get go
Absolutely true! Gives you a huge advantage on your first runs. I still have to beat the ancient cave though, never managed to get to the end...
So the goal now is to Kill him with a party at level 20 :)
Yeah a couple of statues help, but i wouldnt put too much effort into Göttingen them.
@@TobiContinued93 what I did to get them was to put a tape over the up button and I had unlimited pieces of statues afterwards😂😂😂😂
Gahaha " ... he kills you anyways " lol
xD
Yeah, he is a really sore loser. :D
@@TobiContinued93 Honesty is the pillar of greatness! Do not feel bad for sticking to what matter to you! Thanks for the reply, very appreciated! ^-^
Exactly, plot-wise you are supposed to loose. Winning only rewards you with exp, gold and the weapon.
great video
Thanks! And thank you for watching!
Did you know that its possible to beat him already?
@@TobiContinued93 ive never played this game but your videos have been in my reccomended for like 2 weeks now xD
DS remake of it is pure CRAP.
@@TobiContinued93 That'd be good. Maybe they could expand into the first game (which is chronologically after 2... yay, out of order numbering). I'd be down for a whole Lufia franchise, definitely.
Anyone else notice this guy is wearing house slippers to a sword fight? He must just have gotten out of bed when he went on his rampage....
I guess destroying cities and wrecking hero parties are part of the sinistrals morning routine. :)
I love the Lufia series music but I have to give best boss battle music to FFIV. Both the regular boss battle music and the Four Fiends theme
Dammit, I have yet to play FFIV although its sitting on my shelf for over a year now...
I tried writing the link RUclips doesn’t like it
Google ‘the music in ffiv what happened’ and check out the steam community discussion. I completely agree with that poster’s points
He links a mod where you can mod the pixel remaster on steam to play the original ost and trust me when I say it makes a huge difference. Please play with the original OSt!!
Got it, so the original for FF IV and the Pixel Remaster for FF VI. No problem :)
Thankfully I bought FF IV on ebay couple of years ago when the prices were lower.
(beneath the sword shrine)
There you'll may find some red cores which give a lot of xp and are easy to kill.
But they are so fast and run away all the time... Need to give Tia or Selan all the speed items and try to kill them quickly with some magic?
@@TobiContinued93 on that tiles you mostly see just the red cores just grind them some of them will stay for 1 turn, just one shot them with spark with selan or tia.
Blackthorne Baby!
Heavily underappreciated game! Still looking for ways to cover it on my channel...
Destructo wave is a Magic attack right? I believe theres an accessory at this point that ups Magic Resistance, so that might also be handy to withstand that attack?
I remember having the same thought at some point but I believe the effect was not really that significant. Not sure though.
I found it easy to beat him when you glitch out Tia, I believe it had something to do with a cursed item and going down to the bottom of the menu or something like that been a while
Uhhhhm okay, never heard of that glitch. :D Maybe I can find something online...
Maybe I will do a list. ;)
Is this on an emulator? Can we even download this rom still? I miss playing both Lufia AND Lufia II.
Officially I dont think there is any other version than the one for SNES, might be wrong though. I am playing original cartridges.
Even at lv 30 NG+ runs I STILL had his OPENING Destructo wave do OVER 300 damage to a lv 30 party whom doesn't even HAVE 300 HP to begin with so I still didn't even last 1 TURN at all.
I thought ng+ in Lufia 2 just lets you replay the game with 4x the experience and gold to get to the gift mode afterwards. Is it also harder?
It is its JUST not harder its just that even with 4x exp AND lv 30 party members I still had Gades here and his Destructo wave kill a Lv 30 party with it INSTANTLY.
Well i guess at some point its just not possible or feasible to beat him anymore without excessive grinding.
Lufia 2 wasn't underrated it just came out to late in snes life cycle. Had it came out 1-2 years earlier it would have been a massively bigger success.
Thats probably also true. Same goes for Terranigma... but better late than never. ^^
I remember when I beat Gades on my first try. I didnt know he was supposed to be a fight you're supposed to normally lose. I just thiught he was a BS boss.
Wait a sec, you beat him first try and didnt even know you are supposed to lose? What Level were your characters?
I actually never did a game without killing him. I always grind the strenght potion dropped from the crab. There is also an item healing I think like 200 hp to everyone you can buy amd spam every turn for an easy win.
You mean the statues you can grind in the lunaria casino? I never did that but its definitely useful. Which crab drops the potions?
@@TobiContinued93 the ''big crab'' (purple one) in tanbel tower. Ya exactly the statues!
i wish they would remake this game and chrono trigger as well..
Yeah I also hope, but Lufia 2 might not happen. But I can imagine that Square will do something with Chrono Trigger.
You certainly do break the difficulty curve but its a nice little thing to do for a second playthrough.
NVM! I had to move Tia out of the frontlane and the strategy worked like a charm! Awesome
So what is his agility? I've tried looking for it online, but I can't find it anywhere.
Also in the GBC, u can beat twice using High bombs, pretty hard and so much farm, but is awsome, destructo wave sucka
I've always thought Gades was pronounced like Hades just with a G. I wonder how it was intended to be pronounced.
Well, you could definitely also pronounce it like Hades with a G. I like to think that the name in the japanese original, Gadesu, is inspired by the bad guy going by the same name in Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos. The design is also a little similar. ;)
Could be wrong though...
How ist can you have Stronger so early in the Game....

Hi. I am sorry to tell you that i never played this mod. But i quickly looked into it and it sounds really cool so i might give it a try sometime.
This fight is actually not that hard if you're a player that actually uses their brain aka uses strategy. This is really the only place in the game where you really need to in order to win, the game is that easy. But yeah, there's really no reason that you'd need to grind as long as you use the right setup & gear.
What it lacks in difficulty fighting monsters, it makes up for in some of the later puzzles. :)
