NAILED THIS. especially some of the little 'lead-back' fills, that Deroiser played on the original recordings. i don't think i've ever seen anyone do it...EXACTLY RIGHT. Note-for-Note ( and with great feel) like you did. just...fabulous. if i say so myself...i am a veteran "Bad ass' on the kit...and even "I"... probably never played it this good. total Kudos dude...from (clearly) an older and probably more experienced drummer, but....one who bows in deference and offers a heartfelt Kudo's to you, for ..studying this and getting it Exactly Right! fabulous fucking job....

Not easy to replicate the feel and notes EXACTLY as done here. I agree 100% - I used to work for Drum! magazine as well back in the day in San Jose...I was lucky to see tons of top notch talent - this is right there with them.

This was posted at least 4 years ago and of course you are 4 years older. My guess is that you have improved. I've been playing for 50 yrs and I could not have done it as good. Good job mate. I wish I still had the energy now that I did back then. I have resorted to playing lighter somba type grooves.
real nice job...I checked out half a dozen other barracuda covers and yours was by far the cleanest version that stuck to the original...it's cool seeing interpretations of the same song by other drummers but sometimes you just want a quick cheat sheet that's as close to the original as possible if your cramming for a gig...keep up the great playing...

I have a custom series Pearl set and have a tip for you. Not that you need one but I am 53 and have been playing for many years and noticed a ton of drummers just like myself place the last floor tom next to the high hat. Its easy to reach and you will use it more in that location if you dont have to reach for it. Just a tip other wise my kit is set up much like yours and you did awesome on this tune I enjoyed watching it as I am sure many will! Great job!
