Great video. We need more videos explaining the finer points of various assemblies. Not more 3.5 hour videos if responding to subscriber questions. Nothing wrong with those but quick and informative videos serve a different purpose. To adjust the thumbscrew, I hold the filament tightly with my fingers right where is comes in the top and rotate the gear manually. When the skin on my fingers feels like it’s being into the extruder I stop. A different way of doing that adjustment. I was just guessing at the other adjustment you showed before I watched this lol.
Thank you! I, personally, love the 3.5 hour videos as hang out time, but I’ll agree that they can be daunting to sort through to find small bits of info. Glad that this format is helpful and fills a gap for you!
Just save me… was looking for how to adjsut that without assembly everything, and the only very well explained and precisely adjustments was your tips… thank you…. Dammit your parts are amazing smoth….
The plastic parts are all printed by me on my printers. The hardware is from an LDO 2.4 kit. Personally, I like the extruder gear sets that DFH and Fabreeko sell. Each of these stores are small shops that take good care of their customers. I have bought from both shops multiple times, and both have given me freebies in the past, but not specifically these parts, and not for this link, but I want to be as transparent as possible! www.fabreeko.com/products/bmg-kits , dfh.fm/products/rnc-coated-extruder-components-kit-by-runice
I do not recommend it. You need to be able to check the rotation of the gears to see if they are binding, so having the motor locked through the whole procedure would make it difficult if not impossible to assess whether your gears have stopped binding.
There are a ton of possibilities. I’d suggest opening a help ticket in the Voron discord for more detailed help, but general things to check would be whether the motor is turning properly, whether there is debris in your gears, whether the body of the CW2 is screwed together too tightly, and whether the faces of the printed parts have artifacts that are interfering with smooth movement. Good luck!
This solved an issue ive been chasing for months. Can not believe its not in the stealth burner assembly manual. Thank you so much
Glad that this was helpful!
those 2 videos you made is so good thanks
I really need to start putting out more, but that means that I have to get my bench cleaned off first! 😂

This should be in the assembly manual lol, it doesn't really say what to do with 'em vs. regular tension screws from my old printers. Thank you
How can you calibrate the tension on the CW2 if you already have it installed on the printer?
From where did you get the parts for the latch?
They've a perfect fit in your video. Mine are not that super snappy 😞

Thank you for this!
Can this be done with the CW2 installed? Maybe by locking the motors instead of holding with your thumb....THanks

My gears don't bind up like at 0:47 what should be preventing them from rotating?
