Easy to say he made 33 million, but taxes take half. Agent makes 5%, and various other costs of living the life of a pro athlete- These numbers aren't as big as you might think.
Taxes don't take "half" with all the write offs he would have used with all those financial dealings and businesses he was involved in. Wouldn't surprise me if the actual dollar amount was less than 10%.
Taxes don’t take “half” that’s not how taxes work. In fact if you play somewhere that doesn’t have a state income tax, for example, vegas, you don’t pay much in taxes at all. Certainly not “half” 🤡🤡🤡

I think it’s not a bad idea to have someone control your money too make sure all bills are paid and that you don’t go spending like crazy and rack up a bunch of debt which is easy too do when you have millions of dollars.
Not saying it’s the reason professional athletes go broke, but keep in mind taxes😂Depending on where they live, a pro athlete making $30M could actually bring home like $15M. Buffalo Sabres did right by showing him the door. And as a Buffalonian, we didn't like the bad mouthing he did towards the Sabres and the city after he left. His current problems after his time in Buffalo validate the fact that the guy needs a lot of professional help.

Lehners done. VGK fans have completely turned on the guy after Fleury was sent packing to the Blackhawks (this was also when the fans finally started to how GM Kelly Mccrimmon needs to be fired). Sad thing is that Jonathan Quick would make a better fit for VGK than Lehners does. What sad about Lehners, when a goal goes in that he doesn't like, it seems he just gives up before it's gone in the net. Honestly hope VGK gets rid of him.
This last season without Lehner has been the best for the Knights since the first two seasons. The "backup" goalies have more than stepped up and we have the Cup. His active tenure also had a lot of behind the scenes goings on, a certain amount of fan alienation (🌸 dust up), and concurrent coaching issues. Now that we seem to have settled into our future with a solid coaching staff and talented goalies we have to ask ourselves if Lehner needed by the Knights anymore. Between his issues and a so-so coach, the dismal 2021/2022 season spoke for itself.
Kane's story is MUCH worse. His wife publicly threatened and tried to leverage him. That's a MAJOR DISASTER and very embarrassing along with his other troubles. @@davidrollins5594 WRONG! Lehner whined that the league promised that quarantine restrictions would be relaxed once 85% of the players had been vaccinated. Lehner was avocating for the MENTAL HEALTH of the players. He believed some were having difficulties coping with the quarantine. He never questioned the necessity of the vaccine. Lehner later apoligized to the NHL for his "like living in a prison" comment after it was pointed out that the entire world was suffering from quarantine conditions, not just NHL players. Another vaccine conspiracy theory gets destroyed by facts and data.
Exotic snakes and tropical fish? Guy gone bankrupt from dumb animals.
Human is dumpest animal
Bro spent 60k on fish when he was going through bankruptcy? Smh
Manic episodes in people with bipolar disorder can result in impulse buying.
Also the medical costs and surgery aren't covered by the NHL
Sad so many people hand wave this guys stupidity as mental health problems. It does a huge disservice to people who have real problems.
bipolar is considered a severe mental illness
Exotic snakes and fishes???, should have just got a tiger like Mike Tyson 😂
Love that guy!
How much of that went to taxation and escrow?
Still lost on how he didn’t win the vezina w the isle
Because he simply wasn’t that good. He looked good because his team around him played their hearts out to make him look good. He’s just as bad as lalime
Jack Johnson didn’t do absolutely anything besides trusting his parents which is sad the rest are kinda stupid
Getting his neck tatted up should’ve been a huge read flag.
Kane's story is MUCH worse.
His wife publicly threatened and tried to leverage him.
That's a MAJOR DISASTER and very embarrassing along with his other troubles.
Just because reptiles are involved (so what?) and the seller was murdered by his wife,
have no bearing upon who Lehner is or his story.
Lehner is a great goalie - hope he gets back and has great success!
Still embarrassing...

Not great - but, now that I think about it.
Who are we to judge?
Better to have lost, than not played at all.
He's am NHL GOALIE!
Pretty amazing accomplishment.
Not many naysayers can measure up
to that - and it could be argued that not measuring up is more embarrassing.
Media just makes a spectacle out of everything and then programs us to
respond as we are.
We are all programmed and it's pretty
far removed from who we all really are,
what we end up saying/doing etc.
CIAI head - William Casey - 1981:
"Once everything the American people believe is false, our job will be done"
CIA run the 'media'
Guess I fell for it as well - its so easy to lose perspective - and I'm fortunate enough to know better, but hard to remember sometimes....
Hmmm. 30 million over 7, 10, whatever years... and bankruptcy? Yeah well, we all got problems, I barely make 30 grand a year, barely able to feed myself...😢 Must be real important snakes and fish.
Setbacks??? He made over $33,000,000 in just a few years. Setbacks?? .. Stupidity.
I never thought murder would be involved with the story even though he wasn't the one who did it but only 16 years for that guys wife who killed him that is incredibly easy on them.
Stupidity & handing over money is the American Way
Very sorry, but bipolar disorder,is something I would not wish on anyone,God help him,and all who have mental problems!
Don't know what to make of this. Poor snakes though...
You put the Swedish Guy in Las Vegas, Nothing to see here 😅
Some cant handle staying rich
The dude is delusional. This is no surprise.
No - Biden and his supporters (you?) are though....
What about kuch, he definitely had a pin coming, so I have to side with Sheldon
Isn't it easy to claim to see the full picture just because you have most of the public records at hand?
I'm still a little lost. So he got business loans so that he could start a rare reptile business? I just don't get it.
Just poor money management from day one. Don't spend more than what's coming in. Low risk investments with proven groups. No borrowing.
I doubt hes bankrupt. It's a way to get out of the debts.
What is he supposed to do? Not buy 60k worth of fish while in bankruptcy and owing 27 mil...... He's doing the right thing. Also, who gives out millions in loans without doing some basic due diligence?
The Fed, World Banks.
How come this level of scrutiny is not applied to corrupt govts. ONLY to individuals?
@@bry4162 you know why.

Ya - and I'm more than willing to let them expose/destroy themselves. Seems inevitable.

God Bless!
Lenny is all about himself.
Very sad.
Oh, by good side, meaning he'd keep buying gifts. I'd return them.
Tbh if I was in his shoes I would have put every penny away being in the nhl because if I’m being honest he was actually terrible. I think he took his career for granted thinking he’d always have a job but he lasted way longer than I expected him too. He should of had at least 100 million put a side for himself. He fcked him self
Weak sauce, he needs to be back on that strong sauce to get peak Robin again.
Didn't expect snakes and murder to be part of his bankruptcy story did ya? 😁
MC Hammer when from $100 Million to zero also.
my goodness i lost 90k to those degenerates !
40 million is more than most people will see in their lifetime??....you mean 99.9 of everyone on earth.
Saving the pucks but not the bucks.
Here's the answer. He took out a bunch of loans and a bunch of horrible business investments. The end. You're welcome. 😂
