I think for a knitting book of patterns I use/would use the same criteria that I used to use for buying a songbook anthology; that is how many patterns/songs do I really like and want. I will then multiply the number of pieces I really like by the average cost of a single pattern to see whether the book would be cost-effective. If there is 10 patterns in the book and I really like five, I’ll lowball the cost of a pattern at six dollars US which would come up to about $30 US therefore, if the book is less than equal to $30, it’s worth it to me. I know that may sound silly but that has always worked for me

Thank you for doing a thorough flip through. I always wonder if there are enough patterns to justify buying the book. This helped to solidify my decision.

Thank you for taking the time to review this book. I agree with you that they could have done better with using different yarns and yarn combos. I also agree that the three basic sweaters could have used a little bit more variety. The long cardigan is stunning and I think I’m actually going to go check out the long sleeved lace top. I’m considering making it in short sleeves to go under my overalls. I think that could be really cute.

yes. my honest opinion is it’s a beautiful book. I heard the photographs in the book aren’t in the downloaded ravelry copies. I’m making the “Not a sweatshirt”now. I don’t knit very well, much better at crochet, but so far so good!

If you have ever read any of the explanation about their patterns on their website, their merino is interchangeable with their cotton Marino, and their silk yarn. Their mohair is interchangeable with their Cashmere yarn. You can use all of their yarns interchangeably in all of the patterns.

That was my other thought after! I think it looks beautiful but not a fun process to knit (thinking of trying to un tangle 8 strands of yarn 😳)

@@TwinStitchesDesigns I know I get in a mess with two or three. Beautiful sweater though

Eight skeins held together and therefore costs a fortune.

I couldn’t afford the 8 strands and am the same as you, wouldn't like knitting 8 strands either. Perhaps we could put our heads together and come up with alternatives? I'd love to knit this! Also I only like around 9 or so patterns, that I'd consider knitting. Thanks for your review as I've been following their insta on the yarn/colour swatches with their much loved yarn combo. It's saved me from spending money on a book likely half used! Perhaps that's your next book? Mixed patterns and different patterns using several different yarn combos?? Future project?? X

Beautiful patterns. I think i need this book. I purchased one called Knit This! By Kutovakika which is probably more towards your taste. 🙂

Oh and about the sizes too, I'd have to buy similar patterns from someone else! I need size inclusive too. And variety.

I do not own this book. I have seen several interview. Pro: beautifullly pictures, love the explaintation of the animals, love the simplicity of the patterns. Cons: I hate mohair, difficult to work with and very itchy

My guess is I wasn’t someone this book was designed for, if they only have a few sizes.

Your review convinced me not to buy which is a good thing. There is only one pattern I want to buy which is the puff tee.

as soon as you said it wasn’t size inclusive in this day and age… burn the book, throw it in a dumpster … anything less is complicit in fat phobia

I just wonder how many knitting books you personally published? Your critique it’s too harsh and you are spreading negativity. As a fellow knitters - we have to respect each other.Be kind, please.

I’ve published one of my own. And if you would know anything about me, you’d know im a very kind person and just spoke my honest opinion.
