Dear Tiffany, I'm Shreya, a very young knitter who is quite passionate about the craft (I'm still learning, lol). My grandmother taught me how to knit, which is an amazing ability. Even though this talent is now viewed as being highly outdated and unusable (at least where I live), I'm quite happy to be able to follow along with this wonderful skill. I've been a subscriber of yours for a long time, and OMG! 😭😭 You've INSPIRED me so much I can't even begin to explain it. You have taught me so much. My cable knit vest was my first project that I really finished, and now I can't stop. I wish to make the Knitted Streets of Copenhagen Sweater. It is really stunning and already appears to be cozy for the upcoming winters. The general fit is made even more beautiful by the cable knits around the edges. I'd want to create it and wear it with my favourite blue flared trousers. Love you, Tiffy, and best wishes for the future. 💖💖
I cannot stand when patterns don't include the mm of the needle. I know I'm American, but I am also a crocheter. I never learned the letters for crochet hooks, I've always just used mm, and I don't intend to learn the US numbers for needles. So again, frustrating.
@mariemcintyre6403 I have no problem with the inclusion of imperial measures. I just don't like the exclusion of mm measurement. I don't see why publishers can't include both.
So so excited by the Darling wrap !! Currently 5 months pregnant with my first baby and I intend to knit a lot as I’m due in February and it’ll still be cold in France. So the darling wrap is the first one I intend to do, perfect for nursing ! Edit : without the mm for needles and grams for skeins it’s going to take a lot of brain cells to figure out how much of which yarn is needed. For one I’ll have to knit samples and test my gauge 😂
The darling wrap and barbroe blouse are so sweet! I have a crazy amount of heavy merino that I can’t decide what to do with but now I’m thinking the chunky rib sweater would be perfect!
all the patterns look stunning, but the oversized coziness of the Knitted Streets of Copenhagen is calling me TT. the Barbroe blouse is also super cute!
Thank you for your review. I don't purchase books/patterns which don't include the metric system as it's just too confusing for me to convert the numbers. I end up just avoiding a pattern like that. So I'm really glad that you mentioned that point. Shame though as the patterns look very nice. Hopefully they will include the metric system in any patterns they choose to release singly on Ravelry.
Oh same had been looking forward to this book. Love a lot of their designs. I would love to knit the puff tee, the waffle sweater and the Barbroe Bluse 😍 I’m disappointed that the English book is all inches and ounces and us size needles 😩 I don’t use any of that. And honestly have no clue about the USA size needles that make no sense 😂 so that’s very disappointing. Also so weird that you said they don’t include the ease.
I am most drawn to the fennel sweater. I love the deep v, I could see myself wearing it with a fun graphic tee underneath or alone with layered necklaces. I feel like I haven’t seen many patterns like this on ravelry. Love the difference in ribbing on the neck vs. the body. I’ve convinced myself through this comment that I now must knit this for spring!
Have really loved the Barbroe blouse for a long time, but after seeing all the patterns I’m also really excited about the darling wrap and the longer cardigan (but seriously would have to save up for that yarn!!). All the patterns are gorgeous though! Thanks for giving us such an in depth look at the book.
I would knit absolutely every single pattern in here! Stand outs would be the 4X4 rib sweater or the last one, Barbroe Blouse. Think of her in an orange...it would be so good in cream or blush pink... I think this would be a good book for someone wanting to level up their techniques! And knitting for olive yarn can't be beat! I would love this book so much in my collection for winter knitting : )
I’ve knit the puff tee before and it was also huge! Going to have to make another one in a smaller size in the future. The chunky rib sweater is such a great staple sweater I would love to knit!
I wish they had a book with all of their kid patterns because I LOVE them. They're so we'll written and thought through. I would buy that one in a heartbeat
the chunky rib sweater is such a vibe- i'd love to try my hand at that one, particularly as someone who mainly only knits sweaters but hasn't yet delved into a ribbed style!
I’ve been wanting to knit the puff tee for a while and would probably start with that. I’m also intrigued by the Aviaya sweater which looks a bit more challenging.
No worries about the needle sizes, I would just write the mm needle size in the book. I’d love to knit the Truffle Sweater!! A perfect variation of a classic.
The Chunky Rib Sweater and Darling Wrap are the two patterns I’m most excited about. I’ve had my eye on them for a while. I love the value of a knitting book, so many patterns in one place. But I also don’t know the practicality/function of it. Typically I either print a pattern and keep it in my project bag or I work from a digital copy on my phone. I did by my first knitting/crochet magazine in August at Flock (and edition of Pom Pom), so I guess I’ll see how it feels to work from that as a test drive 😆
Thank you for the review! Your critiques are so valid. I also would have liked to see more color choices. It was very beige for how much color variety their line has. This being said, I totally want to make the chunky rib sweater or the dahlia one!!
I've had my eye on the darling wrap for some time now. The wrap top has been super trendy, but that's really the only pattern I've seen that's almost convinced me enough to buy the pattern. The all over ribbing would kill me, but I think it'd be worth it. Also the waffle sweater... I have some non-mohair lace yarns that I would love to use for that, but what a beautiful airy sweater that is. Also thanks for such an in depth review. The sizing/metric system threw me off and is definitely something I would have overlooked looking at any sort of knitting book. Even though I am American, when it comes to knitting, the metric system both for garment measurements and needlesizes just work better in my brain and it's the primary system around the world so i just assumed every knitting book would have at least both... so definitely some math is gonna be required, but this looks like such a beautiful book with some pretty classic patterns
I was so excited to finally get my book. I too preordered and had it canceled and basically bought the book for the barbroe blouse. Also had the puffy sleeve on my list, that chunky sweater looks awesome - won’t be making a four strand mohair sweater unless it’s a scrappy sort project. I’m Canadian living in the us - so I go back and forth between the two systems. Don’t realtor see anyone measuring in oz - they probably thought it would be expected and they were trying to be helpful. Anyways happy knitting!
I’m a beginner/intermediate knitter and I think this book has a great mix of basic and more difficult patterns! I agree, as a Canadian it would have been nice to include metric values as well but somehow this feels so classic to forget we use metric 🙃 I would love to make the chunky rib sweater! Seems like a perfect basic to rotate in my work wardrobe for the winter! And the Chrysler top is now for sure is on my 2024 summer knit list! 😍
Thank you for reviewing! Super helpful to have this review to see if I’d buy the book (or ask for it for Christmas haha). Would love to make the chunky rib sweater and Barbroe top.
I don't knit sweaters often, I mostly knit hats (speaking of which, the hat selection in this book is kind of disappointing ), but that Aviaya sweater looks like just my cup of tea! I love the texture that makes it look really unique.
Ooo I’ve been eying this. Such beautiful designs! I agree they shouldn’t have omitted the metric system from the book but just added inches and US needle numbers. Most measuring tapes, balances, and needles include both systems on them so it would have been nice to have the options. I use both depending on what I’m doing…except ounces. No one uses ounces for yarn lol
Thanks for the review. I've been thinking about purchasing it. Like you, I don't find books to be so portable and hardback makes it even more difficult to keep it open to a page while reading the pattern. Maybe some feedback for publishers,.... having a option to buy it spiral bound would be great or a digital copy option so I could print just the pattern I'm using and shove those 5 pages into my project bag. Happy New Year!
I fell for the chunky knit top the first time I laid eyes on it! I’m a huge KFO yarn fan and am constantly looking for patterns that can help me stash bust KFO so I can buy more haha this book would be perfect!
I look forward to looking through the book and deciding on which sweater to knit. Most likely “it’s not a sweater” pattern. Look forward to knitting something.
Charles Grey cardigan is just 😍awww although I don’t feel like I have either the silhouette or the money to afford that amount of knitting for Olive yarn This being said… my first time here and I appreciated so much your honest opinion on the book and the way how you went through those while book analyzing the patterns. Def will come back again for more Ty
I'm excited to knit the darling wrap! I actually just bought Spektakelstrik's book Gentag in Danish (even though I don't speak or read it at all) so I feel you about waiting for this book!!!
18:28 The Natural Lace top would be the first pattern for me to knit. I live in the southeast US but need some sweaters for when I travel to the "frigid north" that are easy to pack. Thanks for the review!!
I really would love to knit the waffle sweater. To be honest, sweaters that have repetitive designs are absolutely stunning and just screams what I always ask for in a sweater. I look forward to more patterns from Knitting for Olive!!
What was the size range of the garments, and would you consider it to be size inclusive? I have yet to see a KFO pattern have the full range of sizes so far.
I really enjoy your podcasts and livestreams. I often can't make it to them live, but watch them later ❤ would really love the Knitting for Olive Book. Don't have Instagram. Loved your sock sets for your Patreon...sooo pretty. Shari
Even in the US we measure yarn in grams, it makes more sense for 50, 100, 25g skein weight. I have no clue how many oz that is lol
The fact that they use inches is definitely odd… I’m American but as a knitter I find it much easier to use the metric system!

Saaame!!

OBSESSED w the fennel sweater - playing w the different ribbing is *chefs kiss*

I have been obsessed with the darling wrap for months and have been waiting for it in English. I love how you showed all the patterns too!

I would absolutely love to knit the Barbroe blouse! I’ve been looking for a delicate blouse-like pattern in full lace and this is gorgeous!😍
I love the color rain sweater. It’s the very first pattern and my favorite. So simple, but so soft and squishy.
The Barbroe Blouse is BEAUTIFUL
the chunky rib sweater is such a vibe- i'd love to try my hand at that one, particularly as someone who mainly only knits sweaters but hasn't yet delved into a ribbed style!
The Darling wrap is so beautiful! I would be excited to make that and then any of the ribbed sweaters tbh.
The fennel sweater is gorgeous - the double rib and v-neck is giving me everythinggggg
The chunky rib sweater definitely caught my eye!!! Looks soooo perfect for autumn and winter layering
I’ve been wanting to knit the puff tee for a while and would probably start with that. I’m also intrigued by the Aviaya sweater which looks a bit more challenging.

i am 100% down for either the chunky rib sweater or charles' grey cardigan. the cardigan looks like it would make an awesome robe/housecoat!
Oh my. 'Knitted streets of Kopenhagen' is absolutely gorgeous, would definitely knit this for my mum!
Thank you for the review! Your critiques are so valid. I also would have liked to see more color choices. It was very beige for how much color variety their line has. This being said, I totally want to make the chunky rib sweater or the dahlia one!!
All of the patterns look amazing but my first cast on in a perfect world would be the Color Rain sweater. The possibilities are inspiring. 😊
I've had my eye on the darling wrap for some time now. The wrap top has been super trendy, but that's really the only pattern I've seen that's almost convinced me enough to buy the pattern. The puff tee and darling wrap took me by storm, both really gorgeous patterns
I’ve been wanting to knit the olive too since forever and now with winter coming, I can’t imagine the endless time I’ll have on sweater island.
Agree with the comments about lack of metric! The darling wrap or puff tee in a bright apple green would be on my list to knit up
I have also had the puff tee on my list forever at this point, it’s beautiful! So I think I would finally go for it!
I was so excited to finally get my book. I too preordered and had it canceled and basically bought the book for the barbroe blouse. I agree! Should have the metric system! Same with the needle sizes! BTW, I am American

The Puff Tee has been on my knit wishlist for awhile now! So excited to see this book in English :)
Thank you for showing all the patterns! That Barbroe blouse is so gorg! 😍😍
Certainly the Barbroe Blouse! I've been waiting for the English pattern for so long!!🥰☘
Thank you for reviewing! Super helpful to have this review to see if I’d buy the book (or ask for it for Christmas haha). Would love to make the chunky rib sweater and Barbroe top.
I think I now have to make the Aviaya Sweater from this book! I love it!! The half fisherman’s rib is intriguing! ☺️
great book! I think the rusty coloured sweater would be my favourite, very different from everything i own or have knitted so far!
I love the chunky rib sweater and the darling wrap!! I've wanted an all over rib sweater for the longest time! 🥰
There are so many gorgeous sweaters in that! I'd probably start with the Truffle Sweater. Or maybe that wrap top. 😅
I don't knit sweaters often, I mostly knit hats (speaking of which, the hat selection in this book is kind of disappointing ), but that Aviaya sweater looks like just my cup of tea! I love the texture that makes it look really unique.
A good book for the collection! The Olive scarf looks amazing and would be my first project from the book.
I loved all the patterns, but I'd have to say I'm most excited for the fennel sweater!
Looove garments with open necklines so I’m really feeling the fennel sweater and darling wrap!
Ahh! I’ve been waiting for this book too!!! I want to try and knit up the fennel sweater 😍 it soooo fab.
I have been eyeing the Barbaro blouse forever, it would be on my list for sure
I've been eyeing a couple of these patterns, so im glad they've released a book:)
Oh beautiful! I‘d do the Karl Johan Sweater - something simple for everyday, maybe in a fun colour
I've been really into wraps lately, so I am so excited for the Darling Wrap! She's gorgeous
Can’t pick just one… what a great selection in this beautiful book! I would definitely LOVE to make the Darling wrap, Fennel, and Natural lace
finally I get to see which patterns are in this book!! it's been soooo hard to find that info. it also bugs me when they only give the metric system
Ooo I’ve been eying this. Such beautiful designs! I agree they shouldn’t have omitted the metric system from the book but just added inches and US needle numbers. All the patterns look so cute but I'm really in love with the Aviaya sweater. It looks so chic and fun to knit up
What i am most exited to knit on the New Knitting for Olive book is the olive scarf! Perfection for fall❤❤
The Barbroe Blouse, for sure!
I would definitely start with the chrysler top if I had this book. Thanks for showcasing the patterns and making these review.
The Darling Wrap or that super long cardigan would be the first project on my needles! Definitely agree with you, wish there was a little more variety
Charles Grey cardigan is just 😍awww although I don’t feel like I have either the silhouette or the money to afford that amount of knitting for Olive yarn
This being said… my first time here and I appreciated so much your honest opinion on the book and the way how you went through those while book analyzing the patterns. Def will come back again for more

I'm most excited about the Darling Wrap, the ribbed look is gorgeous!!
I love the Darling wrap. I have been wanting to knit that for awhile.
I'm excited to knit the darling wrap! I actually just bought Spektakelstrik's book Gentag in Danish (even though I don't speak or read it at all) so I feel you about waiting for this book!!!

What a beautiful book. So many beautiful projects, I would love to knit the Daring wrap.
I've been wanting to knit the barbroe blouse for a while, it looks so lovely!
So many cute ones, my first choice would be that ribbed wrap top, a classic ❤
18:28 The Natural Lace top would be the first pattern for me to knit. I live in the southeast US but need some sweaters for when I travel to the "frigid north" that are easy to pack. Thanks for the review!!
omg all the basics look so amazing ❤ thank you for this review 😊
This book looks amazing! I'd love to make the darling wrap or the waffle sweater!!
My first cast on would definitely be the Barbroe Blouse, I’m in loveeee!
I’m obsessed with the darling wrap!!
The Barbroe Blouse is so stunning! ❤
omgg love that you're doing a giveaway
The darling wrap is an absolute must knit for me!
I really would love to knit the waffle sweater. To be honest, sweaters that have repetitive designs are absolutely stunning and just screams what I always ask for in a sweater. I look forward to more patterns from Knitting for Olive!!
The Darling Wrap is my number one, absolutely gorgeous
Such a great review! It was nice to get to go through the whole book with you. I am so excited to cast on the Darling Wrap! And the waffle sweater. 😁
Oooh! Maybe I would like to knit the tied cardigan. Thank you for the review.
I definitely want to make the After Rains weater with mohair scraps!!! so cute
the fennel sweater stole my heart!!! already thinking about it in a noro colorway :')
I would love to make the Barbroe Blouse! It looks like such a classic, yet statement piece.
Wow the Barboe blouse would be my pick! I feel like I’d start knitting it now so I can wear it all spring/summer 2024 :D
This book is on my wishlist!! Loved your review and def wanna knit the Darling Wrap. My fav of the bunch!!!❤❤
I would love to knit the darling wrap 😍 totally agree with you so feminine and elegant!
What was the size range of the garments, and would you consider it to be size inclusive? I have yet to see a KFO pattern have the full range of sizes so far.
I love the look of the chunky rib sweater! Thank you so making this book review!
Excited for the Charle's Gray Cardigan! Been on my to knit list for a while!
In love with the Barbroe blouse but I also like the Chunky rib sweater raglan shape ❤
I am sooo excited about the natural lace sweater
I really enjoy your podcasts and livestreams. I often can't make it to them live, but watch them later ❤ would really love the Knitting for Olive Book. Don't have Instagram. Loved your sock sets for your Patreon...sooo pretty. Shari
