  • This is part 4 of a video series about how I test and repair the voltage regulators that were used on Kohler small engines during the 1960s. These regulators were made by Delco Remy, and had 2 electromagnetic coils.
    In this video I show an electrical diagram with some graphics and talk about how the regulator works, after that I go out to the garage and adjust a voltage regulator with the engine running.

    This was a very comprehensive series. I have several Sears Suburbans that have this setup but the generator/starter & regulator are buried under the battery tray making these on tractor adjustments impractical. Thx for taking the time. I will use this over and over.

    my cub did the same thing but it never pass 13v and it had a new Voltage Regulator and a new gen set but 13v at full speed and thing less it will stop
