I just played and beat this game for the first time tonight on the PS3 (Capcom Arcade Cabinet) and it was SO DAMN HARD. Took me almost an hour to get through it with unlimited continues and it took me literally 60 tries to defeat the two bosses that appear at the 20:04 mark of the video. I came close to quitting so many times.
A very underrated game at the time. I played this at Rehobeth Beach in the summer of '86--arcades were so busy back then. Other obscure games I really liked included "Shootout," and "The Legend of Kage." By the way, the player here has some incredible skills--look at how fast he moves the shield back and forth. Hats off.
Never tout that there was a arcade version of this game, i alway's tout that the nes version was specific, but now i have seen this version ,i can conclude that the nes version just feels more darkish with some sorth of psychedicle dejavu feelings of the 60's,, to me.
theres was a trick to defeat goblin as smashing with sword on the very far right side on the screen caused the end of the sword to show up on the left so it was enough just to stay on the right and click attack button ;)
i just realized mercenary kings ripped off the armadillon enemy straight from this game, they even named it the same thing. p.s. stage 3 of this game is impossible, i watched this guy do it and still don't know how he did it. this is obviously tool assisted, nobody plays this perfect. never even got hit once...
"Peace will *probably* return to this world again." Hey, it's better than "probably not". ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯ I mean, let's not get *too* optimistic.
I never understood the plot of this game - so you're using a sword and shield in an obviously modern world, there are enemies that can do things like turn into a turtle shell and roll around on the ground, enemies can step on landmines without tripping them, you can jump super high but only in specific spots. It looks similar to 'ghosts and goblins' but at least that game had a narrative and lore that made sense. Trojan was always a WTF from me. Hard as hell game that I didn't understand.
I am seriously reimagining this game if it had the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike parry mechanic and a super move meter that can only be filled up by parrying 25% for projectiles and 50% for close range
Trojan Sunset Riders Haunted Castle Captain Commando Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Contra Dig Dug Street Fighter 1&2 Konami Capcom Arcade Zone At HeartStar Steven Pizza Time Theatre
That was the most amazing ending ever! I even shed a tear.

Go, Arcade Trojan!
Absolute favorite Game of All Time, Reminds me of HE- MAN & The Film
"The Warriors". ULTIMATE 80's feel look and play. MUSIC IS 10 OUT OF 10.
Every track is a masterpiece
also, i never realized this game takes place in a post apocalyptic wasteland, it's not so obvious in the nes version.
it´s pretty obvious in the first stage
Memories... This was the only arcade I played to the end in the 80s. (I actually got Achilles on the second try)
Caraca mano, top mesmo. Parabéns 👏👏👏
Medieval Training Dagger And Shield
The Legendary Legend Of Steven Bell
Great vid for the coolest channel of You tube!
Arcade version was released in April 1986, and the NES version was first released at the end of that same year.

A blend of super-science and sorcery.

nice game, very hard too
I'm trying to beat this s*** before the Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones fight!
good thing you finally got good luck
Post Apocalyptic Ghouls N' Ghost.
Bravo :)
This arcade version is maybe less harder via settings?? i remember this game way harder than this tbh
Awesome!
When you loose your sword and shield, you use punches and kicks.
I was adicted on this game
It was funny realising all the arcade games are about 20 minutes long.
The quarters, that's what missing from videogames...
"Peace will *probably* return to this world again."

Got This 4 The Nes

I never realized it, but Trojan is Kung Fu Master mixed with Mad Max.
Takashi Nishiyama designed both games, look him up he did a bunch of classics.
Shenanigans. Where are the bow guys out of the sewer manholes? I say hacked.
11:08 1er fallo.💪🏻💖
21:43 2° fallo.💪🏻💖
22:38 Más fallos...
I can barely beat the first level.
I don't think I ever got past the first time you reach the flying goblin - about level 3?

Nice fight!
This game was insanely hard.
NIce TAS
looks like billy and jimmy from double dragon
This is a video game version? I remember that there were better graphics, it looks like super nintendo graphics.
No archers in the manholes?
Which one came first? This one or the NES version?
Esse cara é brabo demais. E o Deividi Fox é lambe bola.
It seems you have to rapidly alternate the attack and defend buttons to defeat the final boss.
And What Happen To The Speed Setting?
i Watch Long Vids Lol On 1.5x Speed.
Who ever did this hardly took a hit and is amazing at this game lol
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Tried downloading this game and actually downloaded the trojan virus :/
Is it true that if the last boss, Achilles hits you one time you're dead?
No
i think two times, at least on the nes version
Achilles hit Trojan four times in swift succession, so I guess it could be percieved as a instant death since it's so fast
Music sounds a little like dick Tracy for the megadrive
A 20 fps😅
