I did a bumper cut on mine too. With the ISR single sided muffler delete pipe, it was driving me mad seeing one exhaust tip opening missing a tip. Since there is no muffler there, people driving behind me can see the suspension links, subframe, and differential 😂 I love that I did the cut. I don’t regret it at all! Makes the ISR pipe look like the tail of a cat
Interesting modification. While I wouldn't enjoy the look on mine, I totally get what Manny is going for. To add to the comparison ST vs RHT: the trunk lid is not only a different shape, but also steel instead of aluminium on the hard top to add rigidity there. The soft top has trunk lid and hood in the lighter aluminium.
Not a bad look, I don't think I will do the same but it looks pretty good.I added the diffuser like Ghosty with plastic screws and came out great. I did mess up and paint mine gloss black but reversed that look later. The exhaust tips need to be a little bigger as well on both.
I personally think this mod makes sense for people with custom fancy billet suspension and exhaust parts that you want to show off. I’ve seen this mod on a lot of cars that just like the way it looks, not for me personally but I do also think it can look decent as well.
@@Mx5modified it sure how much you want to fabricate. There’s some plastic wheel liner pieces that provide support for the lower corners of bumper cover. Without those I’m not sure the strip left over with full cut could stay in place very well…. If you are crafty and wish to do the full cut, then do it! Those lower corners wrap under so nicely and round out the rump, so to just cut all the way across would be a shame outside of your purposes!
They’re not awful but not great. Anything under 40 degrees makes them very stiff. Oversteer and understeer becomes quite the issue. So I don’t push many G’s when it’s that cold. In normal temps they do amazing. They bite nicely on turn in and are pretty quiet. Would recommend.
@@MannyMX5 Cool mine came on the car and I put some all seasons on in the fall just to be safe. I’m in Central Texas so snow isn’t an issue for more than a day and it’s really never that cold for more than a week.
This might seriously be the most wrong thing I've ever seen someone do to their car. And I find it hilarious how all the sheep are chiming in saying it looks good, just to support the move, because they don't have the stones to speak their mind. It doesn't look good. It looks like you are missing part of your bumper, which is exactly what it is. While a handful of you GenX guys, with extremely questionable taste, will think it looks okay, the rest of the world will be looking at your car thinking, I wonder how he lost the bottom of his bumper... Everyone has the right to do as they please with their own car, to be sure. So more power to ya. But you're fooling yourself if you think this was a good move in general. The physic's of the flow of air under the car is just as vital as the flow over the car. And there's a reason diffusers are employed on most performance cars. You just did the opposite of what the best engineers on the planet have a consensus of what should be. Why don't you just cutoff the wheel well flares also, and expose more of the tires??? Because that's very similar thinking to what you did here. Good luck.
Thank you for sharing your good times with us. Good friends are priceless and a blessing

I think this came out looking really good , made it look meaner!
How many boys does it take to cut a Miata bumper?
4, the answer is 4.
We could've used your help.
Wow, i thought you were crazy to do this but it looks great. Needs a polished stainless steel exhaust now

The PRHT bonnet is also aluminium, though the boot lid isn't.
@@cydonia9342 You are correct, I should have stated that more clearly.
To someone who didn’t know better, they’d think you’re driving around with parts missing.
did mine but never bothered to paint the metal bumper black, this definitely looks better
Dual oval center exhaust tips point up a bit, would look awesome

You can tighten a hose clamp around the rear exhaust hangers to bring it up around a 1/2 inch
Great idea! Thank you
niiiicee, looks good 👍
For some reason I get strong NB vibes from this.
i like the bumper cut but i def would change the exhuast up. maybe a single canister? or a fatter dual muffler
1/2 circle blade ( small and big) on a oscillating saw is what you needed, don’t blame the tool, it’s the user 😮
#1 first Miata, it got as low as -17 here few states east ✨
Put sum dual tips on them
Very nice! I’m doing mine soon but don’t know wether to cut all the way across the bumper 🤔
Thanks! Big fan man. Love your Miata
@@MannyMX5 thanks mate appreciated 🙏
Don’t cut around all the way, follow the black section like they did here…. You’ll thank me later
@@whatmakesittick8362 why’s that? I was thinking about cutting it all the way across and running a big diffuser

How do the 615K’s work in the cold?

Now when you detail the car you have to polish the tips and the muffler.
not a fan of the aftermarket mud flaps though
Pull the entire bumper off, then do surgery?
Halo headlights...
Butchered rear bumper...
Now slap on some red spark plug wires, boys, and we'll have a sic modz trifecta.
can't you simply just take that black part off?
Nope, it’s actually part of the bumper (that you see painted red). Mazda just has this part painted black but it’s all connected.
I thought the same thing until I got u see there. Yeah, it’s messy!!!!!! I had black plastic shavings all the way up my butt crack when I did mine 😂
It's gonna be a no from me dawg...

Looks pretty awful…
