Hey InSomnias! Before some jump the gun and only look at the thumbnail - like mentioned in the full review, this album and its B-Sides are still lots of fun! Thing is, Dreamcatcher has shown such a HIGH quality standard throughout the songs and albums I listened to thus far, these one felt a bit flat on first listen, especially with PIRI as title track which was one of their best M/V's yet! Every discography got a few songs that feel a bit weaker compared to the big ones or that aren't my taste immediately, fun on the re listens either way. Still like noted easily a 7/10 overall! Really shows how big Dreamcatchers general quality is! What are your thoughts on the B-Sides on this?
Same, but for me Trust Me is the second best ballad song from Dreamcatcher. Can't defeat Daydream, Daydream is too good, I automatically imagine wonderful stuff when the song comes on, which is good for my stressful studying period.
Daydream became so memorable to me, because when it was being played in the concert, I was feeling it with Dreamcatcher, and my InSomnia crush as well. That moment was just so sweet ugh
This album is actually one of my top favourites Dami Diamond rap line and And there's no one left one of my favourite B-side especially the one take special clip
It has been fun seeing you react to all their songs so far, you could do a tier list at the end of their discography ranking all their songs from your favourite to least favourite. Would be great hearing you personal preference over all the albums
its okay dude thats why they have final installment of nightmare series which make sense to get satisfaction for the last drop of their mini album, looking forward to your breaking out reaction and the bsides 🖤 your halfway through, 4 albums left, your done 🤣 by the way Dystopia : The Tree of Language is their First Full Length Studio Album, God Tier ! 2020 Album of the year
To me this is just a decent mini album, but it's more like Alone In The City is so damn good, all songs in there are high tier. But hey, we share the same favourite Dreamcatcher ballads, Trust Me and Daydream (+ Lullaby). I think what makes those ballads work for you is that both songs feel soooo comforting and you can't help but feel the comfort of the song.
It is a pretty unpopular opinion. TEON is widely regarded in the fandom as one of their best EPs. It also was my favorite until Dystopia: The Tree of Language dropped.
That's quite interesting, I guess because it was a change of flow compared to previous B-Sides? At that point, Wake Up, Wonderland and July 7th were 10/10 B-Sides for me with Sleep-Walking, Mayday and Scar behind them, means each Mini Album till that point had at least 2 of 3 songs that went to my playlist that knocked it outta the park for me! I wouldn't be surprised that the lighter, slower tempo and more poppy sound appeals better to the general K-Pop viewer. Either way like mentioned in my comment, the album still fun to listen to non the less!
@@NiclasKPop My theory is that the bsides on TEON are different from the norm but still have the Dreamcatcher flair. For me there are EPs where I skip songs but that is not the case for TEON. Diamond was the beta version of BOCA but better imo, I remember listening to There was no one left on repeat so much that even to this day I get nausea when I hear it. Daydream is one of the only ballads type songs that I like from them and I am very picky about ballads, I dismiss about 90% of them. And PIRI while it is not catchy it still sounded amazing to me and I started to appreciate it more when I listened to the instrumental. I actually am not a big kpop fan when it comes to music. Apart from the occasional catchy songs I dont really like kpop songs. I like a lot of genres of songs so thats why maybe I enjoyed this EP a lot and Dreamcatcher's discography as a whole
@@Kinben69 I can see where And There Was No Left can be really catchy, short length, same Tempo and tone all the way trough, a vibey, light poppy dance song with a simple groovy instrumental. It's surely fun, so is the instrumental part in the chorus, but it's less Dreamcatcher if that makes sense. I'll put it in my playlist either way and see how it'll be down the road. When my ranking video comes around, maybe my opinion will have changed and its higher in my list, who knows!
Honesty is important. And all reactors should realise that viewers could also see all the tiny details on gesture, facial etc to know they being honest or not 😂 So i appreciate the honesty, taste and preference is not something anyone should force to others,as long it isn't straight up just hating without base,i think you would be fine 😁 Thank you for the video ❤❤ See ya on ep 6 🤘
Exactly! I've seen too many reactors either react weird and then go all WOW IT'S SO GOOD or the reaction itself already feels a bit too over the top, besides maybe refilming a review of a song because I forgot some stuff to add, I always keep it real! Thanks for watching and damn Siyeon looked great during the concert! Would've watched it but have yet to listen to Scream ^^
@@NiclasKPop oh The Tree of Language will be your favorite for sure,it is so diverse and unique, you'll have a great first listen there when the time comes. Haha yes last night was great ❤
Oh no... I think you don't like to see the special clips for the album listening but, the lyric video of "and there was no one left" is wrong from the start :S also in my case it would be the opposite with 'and there was no one left' and 'daydream' since the first (ATWNOL) it's one of my favorite b-sides against one of my less favorite ballads(daydream).. but as you say, even if it's 'less' it does not mean that it's bad, since DC songs have a lot of composition and vocal quality , in the end is all a matter of tastes. Something that I could refute is to call this album 'generic' since I particularly don't have listened to an album like this in k-pop.. it's just a bit more pop and it doesn't have edm songs that you seem to like a lot.. but in fact not having edm it seems to me that it's a bit out of the ordinary in terms of the Dreamcatcher albums. To finish i'll say that Piri to this day is my fav title track, but this is not my favorite album, see you in another video, yeah, I'm running late for your reactions haha someday I'll catch up with they.
To me personally Escape the Era was the weakest album. I did not like You and I much, which is an unpopular opinion as it is. It was the first mv I watched by them and it felt more like a mv for a solo ft. other members and musically I personally loved the ambiance in the verses and bridge and didn't particularly enjoy the chorus. Plus I didn't quite enjoy the bsides either. Now I genuinely like End of nightmare a LOT but I think Alone in the City is an underrated masterpiece that was hard to follow up to some extent. At least in my mind.
You and I was certainly Yoohyeon focused given the story aspect and the song surely the most experimentive yet, I can see why it may not click with everyone. B-Sides are a different topic but yeah, Alone in the City really has no flaw! Amazing title track, a classic Dreamcatcher like B-Side with Trap, and 2 SUMMER MASTERPIECES in Wonderland and July 7th!
@@NiclasKPop right? I think as a first time viewer You and I felt like the group was an "x and friends" situation like many groups unfortunately fall into, like what happened with 4minutes and Hyuna. But yes, keeping storyline in mind everything makes more sense. I think they were just starting to try a different sound for a title track so it was bound to not click for everyone. Yea, I honestly fell for dc after AITC with What and Wonderland which were the second and third songs I heard.
their albums are actually pretty consistent. among b-sides, there's always a rock-type and ballad type on each album. then there is always some other misc genre mixed in. so it's hard to say one album is more 'heavy' than another unless you are comparing one title track to another, or one of their rock-type b-sides to another. personally I love their 'in between' songs like and there was no one left. the special clip for it is also pretty cool so I'll continue to say you're making a mistake by not checking out their special clips with these album listens :D
There's a special clip for And There Was No One Left. Too bad you missed that. Dreamcatcher, like all Kpop, is about performance. The music by itself has less impact than the music with a MV. That's why Piri was so impressive. If you'd only heard the music and not seen the MV you might feel differently about it. Anyway, watch the clip for And There Was No One Left and see how it changes your perception of the song.
For the discography reactions, I purposely only watch M/V's with the footage but keep it audio only for B-Sides! When an album releases, that is the experience I would've had on the first listen, the special clip is a bonus down the road. It only makes sense to check it out on a later date, where like you mentioned it could change my opinion!
Clickbait? Clickbait is making up stuff that does not happen to get more views, but that discussion came up in the video and was a key point of it, so it's just highlighting the important thoughts coming out of it! But like mentioned above, weakest is a tough word, because even for Dreamcatcher weakest is like 7/10!
