Bougainvillea Bonsai - How To Propagate Large Bougainvillea From Cuttings

  • There's many way to propagate bougainvillea you know on RUclips, most of them is small cuttings, very easy to grow. But you might not know how to do for the large cuttings, here is other way, my way. I hope you do it successful.
PS. Some how I didn't have the video when I paint on the top of them (as you see at minutes 6:48). I'm sorry about that. It is the paint I put on top to protect the logs from fungus and also keep the logs from drying.
    Best regards

Thank you for your time and knowledge, I'm 67 years old ready to go on retirement to Ecuador, is a nice climate , no snow, low 65 up to 85 highs, plenty sunshine, I like plants like my mother, and I know a have a good hand, I like the Bonsai, I learn a lot from you. Keep spreading the beauty of you as person, I know you are not selfish, you always will give. Gracias, thank you

This was amazing. I have never seen cuttings strike from such large trunks. Thank you so very much for sharing this. I’m not sure if I could replicate this in the UK (quite a bit colder here!) but it’s always worth a try? Thank you again.

I took a cutting and stuck it in a pot. It turned brown and I forgot about it. Many months later I was cleaning up and noticed 1 tiny leaf starting. Now its a big bush in my yard.

I have not had difficulty planting branches nor big trunks of bouganviIlea but I guess it's because of the tropical climate of Western Pacific. I just let them stand between taro plants without sticking into the ground and the roots comes out 3-4 weeks. But anyways, it's interesting.

    Hi Anh,
Your video inspire me to try planting the desert rose and bougainvillea. I am in the Bay Area (Northern California) by the bay which is much cooler co.pared to Southern Cal, Florida and Texas so I am not sure how well dessert rose will grow here.
During the period you cover the trunks, did you water them? If so, how often?
Also, were they exposed to any direct sun?
    Cãm ön Anh nhiê'u!
